The Division of Student Affairs' priorities are guided by nine (9) identified Dimensions of Wellness
Social Wellness: Social wellness is an individual's ability to relate and interact with others. Social wellness includes building healthy and nurturing relationships as well as fostering a genuine connection with those around you. A socially well individual values, respects, and supports the diversity of our communities through knowledge, acceptance and understanding. Physical Wellness: Physical wellness is knowing your own body and caring for it. It encourages the balance of physical activity, nutrition, and mental well-being to keep your body in top condition. Intellectual Wellness: To be intellectually well, it is essential to explore creative and mentally stimulating activities and regularly engage in new and ongoing learning opportunities. Professional Wellness: Professional wellness encourages the exploration of a variety of career options and creates a vision for your future. Emotional Wellness: Emotionally well people can express feelings freely and manage feelings effectively. Emotional wellness is a continual process of change and growth enabling one to maintain satisfying relationships, deal with conflict and remain grounded during stressful times. Financial Wellness: Financial wellness is understanding your financial situation and taking care of it in such a way that you are prepared for financial changes. Cultural Wellness: Cultural wellness implies understanding, awareness, and intrinsic respect for various aspects of diversity including sexual orientation, religion, gender, racial and ethnic backgrounds, age groups and disabilities.
Environmental Wellness: An environmentally well individual leads a lifestyle that is respectful of and in harmony with their environment and is aware of the limits of the earth's natural resources. Environmental wellness is understanding we are dependent on our natural environment just as the environment is dependent on us.
