the T+A STUDIO The team consists of Patrick and Michael, joined by selected design partners and collaborators such as allied professionals, engineers, and varies by project or client expectations and recommendations. For projects requiring specialization or expertise, specialization consultants are also tapped to collaborate with the team.

our story TANHUANCO+ANDALUZ is a studio collaboration of solo practices between Patrick Andrew Tanhuanco (TANHUANCO+ARCHITECTS) and John Michael Andaluz (Andaluz Architecture). Patrick and Michael were classmates in college but went on work in different firms upon graduation. Their paths crossed once again at Aidea Philippines Inc, and it is there they began sharing work and life experiences, their philosophy and preferences in design. They both wanted to explore beyond the structured life and processes of a corporate architecture firm and test their ideas. They found out that despite various differences in goals, methods and interests, they share the same values and outlook towards design - that things and spaces that are carefully thought of and designed can uplift the experience of its users. And they both decided to extend these values to their personal and collaborative work. Their collaboration began in 2013 with the Inspiration Store and officially established the design studio in late 2016.

Celica believes that Design is meant to be tried and tested. That we have to put our ‘creation’ out there for people to see, experience and use. That is the only way we can get valuable information that would challenge our perception and stretch our problem solving skills. Her vast experience in Interior Design (ID) comes from work at KM Interior Design Manila & LBLV Design Associates where she worked on residential, corporate, hospitality and commercial ID projects, such As she joined Aidea Philippines, there she played key roles as Interior Designer in bid competitions, conceptualizations, design and development of projects - FEDEX Express Core Office, AIM, Clark, Ayala Land Inc.’s Park Triangle Mall Corporate Center, Tacloban Domestic Airport, One World Place, World Plaza, The Finance Center BGC. etc.

Design Collaborator

Her design Entry “Prismatic Flow” for the Metrobank Art and Design Excellence (MADE) 2015 for Interior Design got 2nd Place. She took up BS Interior Design at Philippine Women’s University, Manila, after finishing an Economics degree at University of the Philippines, Los Banos. She is currently taking up her Masters in Tropical Landscape Architecture in University of the Philippines, Diliman.

Blondie “Boe” Riccio, has deep passion and respect for architectural design. Shortly after graduating, she worked under a Swiss Architectural company as the head Interior Designer for two years. Under this company she honed her skills in translating the architectural essence of a building into the interiors - making a more cohesive structure. She believes interior design is an integral part of making a structure complete and functional. She involves herself and works closely with architects to be able to consider the interior needs of a space before construction starts, making a point to have the interior needs considered even as early as master planning. She enjoys collaborating with architects and engineers, sharing insights that will further push the creative construction of a structure.

Blondie Opalyn Riccio

PIID, BSc Interior Design (UST) Interior Designer Design Collaborator

Now licensed for 4 years and practicing, she has completed resorts and residential projects, and designed retail fit-out spaces such as Kipling, and developed new concepts for Nuat Thai. Having done projects nationwide, she envisions a bright future for design in the Philippines and one day hopes to have an effect on other designers in considering the architectural essence and applying it internally within interior design. She graduated Cum Laude from the University of Santo Tomas with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Interior Design.

2016 San Vicente, Palawan Residential Construction Site: 1200 sqm; Development: 550sqm Collaborators Idr. Blondie Riccio, Leo Sano, Ar. Mikle Collado, ACE, JSQ Client Mr. Picazo Dubbed as ‘THE M-House’, the client specifically requested to have the letter ‘M’ in his home, but prefers a subtle design with mid-century modern inspired aesthetics. The Architects wanted the house to ‘live’ with its context - full of trees, natural stones, and a hilly terrain. They sought to reconcile a very striking form of M with client requirements by shifting parts of the plan, to make it subtle. The M is achieved through the sweeping lines of the ledge rather than the massing and volume of the house. Extended ledges, and large roof eaves also contribute to shading, as openings and living spaces face the south west. Interiors are kept ‘raw’ using bare concrete, natural stones, and wood finishes.

SSHS Centennial Projects St. Stephen’s High School celebrated its 100th Year in 2017. The following projects shown are the Major Projects undertaken by the institution for its Centennial Year. Situated in a very dense and congested neigborhood in Sta.Cruz Manila, the proposed designs seeks to uplift the well-being of the users by providing a ‘breathing space’ for students, faculty, guests and admin of the school - through open, naturally lit, and ventilated spaces. Also, it is important that the design sends a strong message to the community, that the school is continuously striving, moving forward and improving its brand.
