SUMMER16

1

WELCOME

So Summertime is upon us. Time to don your sandals, shorts and shades and make the most of those lovely warm early mornings and hazy afternoons. Because, of an evening, you’ll be wanting to spend time out of the heat and in the comfort of your local cinema, to soak up some ‘cultural rays’ so to speak! This July love will be in the air as we welcome back Tom Hanks to our screen in his new romantic comedy A Hologram for the King, the unapologetically romatic Me Before You and the no less romantic but more corsetted, Jane Austen inspired, Love & Friendship. August hots up with the girls from Ab Fab as they hit the big screen as well as the big time, followed by the hotly anticipated all-female-lead Ghostbusters reboot. September sees our town go Festival crazy, with art, craft and live performance, finishing with a flourish as we host our annual outdoor immersive screening. So don yer kilts and tartan for “the Scottish Play”. All hail Macbeth! Have a great summer,

Paul & Esther

ALICE THROUGH THE LOOKING GLASS (PG)

BOBBY (PG)

Alice must travel through a mysterious new world to retrieve a magical sceptre that can stop the evil Lord of Time before he turns forward the clock, turning Wonderland into a barren, lifeless old world. Look out for a familiar face as local actress Eve Hedderwick-Turner appears alongside Johnny Depp, Helena Bonham Carter & Sacha Baron Cohen!

A film which marks the 50th anniversary of England’s victory in the 1966 World Cup, and uncovers the truth behind the man who led them to it... Bobby is a powerful, dramatic and deeply personal portrait of a genuine footballing icon. Moore fought many battles besides those witnessed by millions on the football field. Behind the glory lies the story of a man who faced highs and lows with the same strength and bravery. But he died young, cruelly shunned by the game and by the very people who owed him so much.

FINd US

Wirksworth is tucked away in the Derbyshire Dales, a bit off the beaten track - but that’s the way we like it. PLEASE DO NOT PARK ON NORTH END There is parking on Harrison Drive, at the railway station during the day and on the Market Place, Barmote Court off (Coldwell Street) and Wood Street car parks.

WIRKSWORTH

GOOD NEIGHBOURS North End is our favourite street in town. We live here, we work here, we tend to drink here too. That’s why we ask all our customers to help us minimise any disturbance on the street and help us be good neighbours. So if you arrive by car, we ask you not to park on North End itself, as lots of our neighbours rely on on-street parking. There’s plenty of parking elsewhere in town. If you smoke, we ask you to do so away from the cinema but also away from residential houses -

ACCESS there’s a handy bench across the road at the top of Greenway Croft. Finally, when you leave, please do so quietly as some of our neighbours are elderly and others have young children, who may have retired to bed by the time you leave.

Please let the Box Office know when booking tickets, should you need to reserve a wheelchair-user space. We have a hearing loop installed in the auditorium and are fully wheelchair accessible.

This will all help keep us in the good books with our neighbours - which is always a good thing. Thanks for your help!
