So here we are in 2014 already. Well, OK, we’ve a few weeks to go as we
write this but you know what we mean! So New Year, new programme - two months at a time so you know what’s coming up and when. We’ve a great mix of box office hits, such as Gravity, Elysium and Rush, mixed with some quirkier films, such as the delightful Frances Ha, Museum Hours, The Selfish Giant and Le Week-End. Keeping up with more challenging films we have Hannah Arendt, The Stuart Hall Project and The Hunt, and not forgetting the kids, Planes, Smurfs and meatballs feature in our Family Film selection. For specials we have an immersive Brief Encounter for Valentine’s Night, wine tasting with Robert Bagot and our very own Oscars night. WHERE WE’RE AT... Wirksworth is tucked away in the Derbyshire Dales, a bit off the beaten track - but that’s the way we like it. From Derby take the A38 coming off at the Allestree island for Matlock A6. Continue on this road for 2 miles turning left at the lights just before Duffield, signposted Wirksworth, on the B5023. Continue on this road for 8 miles, entering the town on Derby Road. FREE PARKING for the cinema can be found at The CO-OP on Harrison Drive. PLEASE DO NOT PARK ON NORTH END and help us be a good neighbour - thanks! There is also parking along Harrison Drive itself, at the railway station and on the Market Place and Barmote Court car parks.
