atch i ng Robert Fra ncis “Beto” O’Rourke announce his candidacy for president, I had snake oil salesmen come to mind.

Everything about this guy is fake, which makes him a perfect candidate for fake news media to celebrate.

My wife Mary and I spent several weeks in Texas campaigning for Ted Cruz, fighting to stop O’Rourke from stealing Cruz’s Senate seat. It was incredible watching O’Rourke’s TV ads. Funded with mega-millions from outsiders, O’Rourke’s entire U.S. Senate campaign was built upon deceiving voters.

For example: While claiming to be pro-Second Amendment, great deceiver O’Rourke voted against every piece of pro-gun legislation that came to his desk. To deceive voters into believing he is a regular guy, millionaire O’Rourke posted video of himself in a laundromat doing laundry. O’Rourke came disturbingly close to scamming Texans into electing him over Ted Cruz.

In his elect-me-or-we’re-all-gonnadie presidential campaign announcement, O’Rourke claimed there are crises in our economy, democracy, and climate. O’Rourke urgently warned Americans that we are in a “moment of peril.” What on Earth is O’Rourke talking about?

Our Economy: Trump has our economy booming. Black unemployment is the lowest in recorded history. Hispanics and women are also doing great in Trump’s economy.

Our Democracy: M r. O’Rou rke, the truth is, you and your fellow Democrats are the greatest threats to our democracy. Democrats seek to criminalize conservative thoughts, conservative speech, and gun ownership. Given their vindictive destruction of Mike Flynn and Paul Manafort, Democrats outrageously seek to criminalize working for Trump.

The Democratic Party “Left” Me!

I

voted for Donald Trump. According to many, that suggests that I may be uneducated, a redneck, a hater of immigrants, against female equality, and a racist. Indeed, Hillary Clinton characterized half of Trump’s supporters as “deplorables.”

Born in New Jersey, I entered Rutgers University, a bastion of liberal thought, as a chemical engineering major. After graduation, I received my M.S. and Ph.D. from Florida State University where I was, at age 25, the youngest person to ever graduate as a therapist from “the oldest and most prestigious program” for marriage and the family in the world. My IQ was tested at 153. I am a past president of the North America Society of Adlerian Psychology, a contributing editor for The Journal of Individual Psychology, and my Sulliman Scale of Social Interest has

become the “gold standard” for assessment of this indicator of mental health.

My grandparents were all immigrants to the United States as were the grandparents of all my childhood friends. I have had my life threatened for defending the rights of both females and blacks.

More than 40 years ago, as a member of the Leon County (Tallahassee, Florida) Democratic Executive Committee, as well as holding a position on its steering committee, I was endorsed by the local chapter of the National Organization of Women when I ran for public office. I have spent my entire life serving the poor and marginalized members of our community. Sounds like the perfect resume for a Democratic liberal and not someone who has voted Republican since Ronald Reagan’s second term.

I voted for Donald Trump for five reasons that one would expect the liberals to embrace:

1. I believe in equality. I believe in the words of our Constitution: We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness.

Without the first “Right,” there can be no others. For this reason, I am opposed to the taking of anyone’s life unless in self-defense. I am opposed to capital punishment both in and out of the womb.

Thomas Jefferson once wrote, “The care of human life and happiness, and not

their destruction, is the first and only object of good government.”

There are no inane “women’s rights” arguments that can deny that “An abortion kills the life of a baby after it has begun.” Does this quote come from some far-right radical source? No, it came from a Planned Parenthood brochure in 1963.

Abortion has been characterized as a “religious” issue and that is why the barbaric practice has been protected by legislatures and judges who abhor the imposition of religious values on our citizens.

MIXED MESSAGES

unrise. Where will you be at sunrise on Easter Sunday morning?

Being a solemn saint at a sunrise service? Or being saint sheets sacked out at bedside Baptist? Most likely, Debbie and I will go to the 11am Easter morning worship service held in our church auditorium! Easter and Christmas are the two most celebrated holy days of the Christian faith. Wherever you go, enjoy the celebration! So, what is it all about?

At “Christmas”, we celebrate the fulfilled promise of God. According to the Bible God came to earth in human form through the virgin birth of the Lord Jesus Christ, Messiah. Savior. Healer. Deliverer. He is available and reliable to relate to us at every point of our need if we will humble ourselves and accept the gift of His love. At Christmas we celebrate the Biblical message of Christianity with the nativity scene. Where the innocent baby Jesus is laying in the manger. And the wise men arrive with their gifts for Him. At Easter, we celebrate the Biblical message of Christianity with the garden scene. Where the Lord Jesus Christ, Messiah in His resurrected body is alive outside the empty tomb. And like Christ, those who have put Biblical faith in Him in this present life will be resurrected on that certain future resurrection day.

By God’s grace we can be restored to a personal relationship with our heavenly Father, Creator, God. Why did He do this?

Because of His love for us. Now we can know the truth. And the truth will set us free. The Gospel message is the only true message of Hope. For now. For eternity. So how does this, the Biblical worldview of the Christian faith, religion, apply to us today?

Religion is how we practice our faith.

All worldviews are based on faith. We put our faith in whatever we believe to be true about anything. It makes us who we are. It is the lens through which we view

life. Out of what we believe to be true, we form our own worldview. Our worldview affects how we live our daily lives. How we relate to ourselves, others, God. The Biblical worldview of Christmas and Easter represent what we believe is true about life and death. Now. And hereafter.

What about now? How does all of this relate to where We the People our American family find ourselves in the current cultural chaos in our Nation? There are inconsistent contradicting mixed message worldviews causing all kinds of family feuds. It has gotten mean. Real mean. Unreasonable.

The Biblical worldview of the justice of truth, self-evident truth is the Cornerstone upon which our Founding Fathers wrote our Founding Documents: The Declaration of Independence, The Constitution, The Bill of Rights. With these, they formed our Constitutional Republic Rule of Law. Why is this important?

Because truth will always lead to liberty and freedom.

Regarding Christmas and Easter. The virgin Mary finds herself pregnant. But she and her fiancé Joseph are not married.

And Mary has never had sex with him or any other man. Talk about an awkward inconvenience. What should she do?

Especially since the baby already has a name, Jesus.

What would have happened if Mary had rejected the just self-evident truth that baby Jesus’ Life is from God? And that Mary’s body also belongs to God? What if Mary unjustly decides her body and baby Jesus belong to her. Mary rationalizes that she, not God, has the authority, power, and control, the right to decide whether baby Jesus can be born alive. She decides against Life. She becomes the law unto herself. Rejecting truth, she unjustly exercises her authority, power, control.

Will America Survive?

e used to be American’s in Congress and in our cities, towns and states. Our government was peopled with Patriotic dedicated Americans.

Then, the American people became weak and dropped their guards. They allowed historic enemies of our country to infiltrate the cloistered halls of government. Wow. Now we are perceived as weak idiots by avowed Socialists and Communists under their, not so veiled, cover of the title of Social Democrats (even Democratic Socialists).

Russian styled communists, Chinese Communists and Muslim radicals are infiltrating our government, all seeking America’s fall and demise. Russia’s

Premier Nikita Khrushchev predicted this more than half a century ago, between the years 1953 to 1964.

Now the world’s dictatorial forms of government have crept back into the forefront even in America. Those suggesting American’s adopt Socialism reach into state, local and federal government through radical representatives duly elected by people duped into believing they are something they are not.

The list of the enemy creeping into our government is growing each year as we see the emergence of the likes of Bernie Sanders, Alexandra O. Cortez and Islamic women like Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib.

The facts are clear that such people are at philosophical odds with our Very Constitution, which is diametrically

opposed to Socialist, Communist, and Islamic principles. In the very fact of truth, they oppose our founding religious principles. Yet our Congress allowed Obama and these Muslim women to take the oath of office on the Koran. What’s that all about. The Koran at its foundation directly contradicts the US Constitution. Thus, they could not truly take the oath of office

that specifically states they promise to preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States. You can’t do both.

The Politician and His One Day in Hell

A

politician dies and ends up standing in front of the pearly gates.

Saint Peter looks at him for a second, flicks through his book, finds his name and says, “So, you’re a politician...” “Well, yes, is that a problem?”, replied the politician.

“Oh no, no problem. But we’ve recently adopted a new system for people in your line of work, and unfortunately you will have to spend a day in Hell. After that however, you’re free to choose where you want to spend eternity!”

“Wait, I have to spend a day in Hell?!” says the politician. “Those are the rules,” replies St Peter, clicks his fingers, and WOOMPH, the guy disappears. He awakes, curled up with his hands over his eyes, knowing he’s in Hell. Cautiously, he listens for the screams, sniffs the air for brimstone, and finds... Nothing. Just the smell of, is that fabric softener? And cut grass, this can’t be right?

“Open your eyes!” says a voice. “C’mon, wakey wakey, we’ve only got 24 hours!”

Nervously, he uncovers his eyes, looks around, and sees he’s in a hotel room. A nice one too. Wait, this is a penthouse suite... And there’s a smiling man in a suit, holding a martini. “Who are you??”

The politician asks.

“Well, I’m Satan!” says the man, handing him the drink and helping him to his feet. “Welcome to Hell!” “Wait, this is Hell? But... Where’s all the pain and suffering?” he asks.

Satan throws him a wink. “Oh, we’ve been a bit misrepresented over the years, it’s a long story. Anyway, this is your room! The minibar is of course free, as is the room service, there’s extra towels next to the hot-tub, and if you need anything, just call reception. But enough of this! It’s a beautiful day, and if you’d care to look outside...”

Slightly stunned by the opulent surroundings, the man wanders over to the floor-to-ceiling windows through which the sun is glowing, looks far down, and sees a group of people cheering and waving at him from a golf course.

“It’s one of five pro-level courses on site, and there’s another six just a few minutes’ drive out past the beach and harbor!” says Satan, answering his unasked question.

So, they head down in the elevator, walk out through the glittering lobby where everyone waves and welcomes the man, as Satan signs autographs and cheerily talks shop with the laughing staff. And as he walks out, he sees the group on the golf course are made up of every one of

his old friends, people he’s admired for years but never met or worked with, and people whose work he’s admired but died long before his career started. And out of the middle of this group walks his wife, with a massive smile and the body she had when she was 20, who throws her arms around him and plants a delicate kiss on his cheek. Everyone cheers and applauds, and as they slap him on the back and trade jokes, his worst enemy arrives, as a 2 foot tall goblin-esque caddy.

He spends the day in the bright sunshine on the course, having the time of his life laughing at jokes and carrying important discussions, putting the world to rights with his friends while holding his delighted wife next to him as she gazes lovingly at him.

Later, they return to the hotel for dinner and have an enormous meal, perfectly cooked. As everyone is falling about laughing and flinging bread sticks at each other, his wife whispers in his ear... And they return to their penthouse suite and spend the rest of the night with the same passion as they had on their honeymoon.

After hours of passion, the man falls deep into the 100% Egyptian cotton pillows and falls into a deep and happy sleep... and is woken up by St Peter.

WILL AMERICA SURVIVE?

Sovereign State’s rights.

A congress of servants with limited and temporary involvement in governance which demands term limits.

I hope people will consider the consequences of adopting governing concepts that have failed and are failing right before our eyes in Cuba, South America, Africa and the middle east and far east and others. The map shows all the places where Socialism/Communism has been tried and failed; color-coded for the number of years they said they were Socialist: I hope further that President Trump is

proven to be correct when he said: “We are born free, and we will stay free. Tonight, we renew our resolve that America will NEVER be a socialist country”.

“So, that was Hell. Wasn’t what you were expecting, I bet?” “No sir!” says the man. “So then,” says St Peter. “You can make your choice. It’s Hell, which you saw, or Heaven, which has choral singing, talking to God, white robes, and so on.”

“Well... I know this sounds strange, but on balance, I think I’d prefer Hell,” says the politician. “Not a problem, we totally understand! Enjoy!” says St Peter and clicks his fingers again.

The man wakes up in total darkness, the stench of ammonia filling the air and distant screams the only noise. As he adjusts, he can see the only light is from belches of flame far away, illuminating the ragged remains of people being tortured or burning in a sulfurous ocean.

A sudden bolt of lightning reveals Satan next to him, wearing the same suit as before and grinning, holding a soldering iron in one hand and a coil of razor-wire in the other. “What’s this??” He cries.

“Where’s the hotel?? Where’s my wife???

Where’s the minibar, the golf courses, the pool, the restaurant, the free drinks, and the sunshine???”

“Ah”, says Satan. “You see, yesterday, we were campaigning. But today, you voted.”

The Prenatal Border Wall: Where Is the Demand for Total Protection?

uch has been written about President Trump’s determination to obtain the funding he needs for the border wall. He is so committed to this that he declared a national emergency.

The Democrats are pushing back, of course, led by pro-abortion “Catholic” Nancy Pelosi, who uses her Catholic identity to support her opposition to keeping illegal immigrants out of our nation, but who defies the Church by supporting abortion. The term for this is hypocrisy. And this is but one of the frustrations our most vulnerable citizens—the preborn—face daily.

Yes, it is all about the babies. Perhaps you did not realize it, but we have border problems right here INSIDE our border.

So, let’s think about the president’s push for border security in a different way. Focus on the security the preborn child should experience as long as he is growing within his own mother’s walls!

These are the walls of the fallopian tube and the uterus, once thought to be safe places for little ones. After all, this is the place where a normal pregnancy exists.

But in America, such children are never secure within those walls because here it is legal to kill them before they are born.

And now perhaps, if the Democrats have their way, it will be legal to kill them as they are being born. As of this writing, Congressional Democrats have thwarted 14 attempts by Republicans to vote on a bill that would provide medical care and treatment for babies who provide survived failed abortions — 12 times in the House and twice in the Senate.

On another front, two Ecuadorian brothers —illegal aliens—who were dealing in the sale of aborted baby body parts, were arrested by ICE. These two men “owned and operated DaVinci Biosciences and DV Biologics, companies that contracted exclusively with Planned Parenthood of Orange County to receive aborted baby tissues and organs, which they trafficked overseas.”

Positively disgusting!

This brings us to several questions: Why won’t President Trump and Congress push forward in efforts to secure the prenatal borders in our own country? Why not press hard for legal protection for each and every preborn child in America, each of whom is an American citizen who is devalued and discarded because our laws do not protect them? Don’t these preborn human beings have the right to be protected and secured in the same way that the president is trying to protect you and me from illegal immigrants?

As Americans, we should demand total protection for every one of our own citizens, from the instant their lives begin onward.

As Catholics, we know that the Church teaches that, “human life must be respected and protected absolutely from the moment of conception. From the first moment of his existence, a human being must be recognized as having the rights of a person—among which is the inviolable right of every innocent being to life.”

Mayors: It’s a “Burden” on You to Have a Say in BIG Tax Increases

A

collection of fake conservative mayors have joined up with outspoken Leftists such as San Antonio’s socialist-leaning Mayor Nirenberg to sign a letter opposing the fundamental part of House Bill 2 which reforms the local property tax system to give taxpayers a say in large local property tax increases.

Lubbock’s mayor, Dan Pope, and Amarillo’s mayor, Ginger Nelson, both signed this letter which contains a key sentence that only an out-oftouch self-anointed pseudo-elitist would write without noticing how

embarrassingly paternalistic it is.

About giving local voters the right to have an automatic tax ratification election when these local officials raise property taxes over 2.5 percent, Pope, Nelson and the others wrote to Ways and Means Chairman Dustin Burrows (R-Lubbock), asking HB2 to be changed so that it “Protects cities’ ability to provide basic municipal services to our residents without unduly burdening voters.”

Did you get that? They called letting you have a say in big tax increases an undue burden on you!

Not only do Pope, Nelson, and other mayors, commissioners, and local officials think a tax ratification election

is a “burden” to you, they appear to think such an election is more of a burden to voters than are the big tax increases they put upon those voters, year after year.

If Nelson, Pope, Nirenberg, and other mayors want to be taken seriously by legislators, they should drop such insulting and ridiculous statements from their anti-taxpayer letters.

Furthermore, we know that to be consistent, our nation should fight just as hard to secure the borders that protect our most vulnerable citizens—the preborn— as it fights to protect all of us from the threats that illegal immigration poses.

So why can’t we get it right? Rather than wondering, make it a point to ask President Trump and your members of Congress to work to assure border security for the preborn with as much vigor as they are working to protect us from the threats at the border posed by illegal immigrants. The Life at Conception Act is a very good start.

Our American preborn citizens deserve border protection!

Legal protection of human personhood for every human being from the moment he first exists would guarantee it.

We need prenatal border security now!

Have Teachers Lost the Confidence of Conservatives?

A

s an old man who has seen much change, one of the worst changes has happened in our education system. First, I want to express my admiration for most teachers, and America was once in the top-tier rankings in math and science. The last numbers I heard, we are about 15th and 20th respectively.

At one time, teachers were the most respected people in society among every social group. Today, they are no longer viewed that way, especially among older educated people, who had to pass a test to move on in a subject. Ask students basic civics questions today, and wrong answers will be the norm. Today’s teachers often can’t answer questions on their own tests. Could this be because when they graduated, failing was not allowed, because it could hurt their self-esteem?

A recent study shows a high number of American students can’t pass basic tests in civics, math, and science, but they are ranked highest worldwide in self-esteem.

In short, they do not know much, but they feel really good about it!

If ever there was a good example of

distorted-socialist-thinking, this is it!

Forget facts, ignore the truth, avoid reality, and move on with your life; that is, until the world slaps you in the face.

Educating our children is one of the most important jobs adults have, but we must educate our children with facts, not feel-good information. It appears our educators have decided feel-good words are better than facts and truth, to teach students. Any study of socialism shows just how bad for the average citizen it truly is. The best comparison I have seen is a teacher who explained socialism to her students this way, “Due to the drastic difference in last week’s grades, we are going to use the socialist system to help everyone pass. Those of you who made failing grades will be raised to passing, by taking from those who made very good grades. So, ‘A’ students will drop to a ‘B’, ‘C’ students will remain C’s, and failing students will receive a C-. That is just barely passing, but it is a passing grade. This way we all get to move on to the next week’s studies together. Isn’t that wonderful?”

Johnny made an A and thinks this socialism idea sucks wind! “Teacher, I

studied late into the night to pass last week, and now after getting an A, I have to give part of it to someone who failed?

That is not right. I EARNED my A through hard work and giving someone a passing grade to even-out the class grading numbers, shows hard work is pointless.” Of course, Johnny is correct and has exposed the basic flaw in socialist thinking. Socialism is for lazy people and those who think society “owes” them, just because they are a citizen. Look at our Founding Documents and you will find equality of opportunity is what they wanted, not equality of outcome. They understood that all citizens have different talents and levels of ability, which will allow some to be good at one thing but not at others. That system allows citizens the freedom to learn, at what job they can best make their future. THAT is the DIVERSITY our Founders wanted, not making all citizens equally mediocre.

Socialism achieves that useless, easy to reach, goal.

Professional sports teams are now made up largely of Black players in football, track, and basketball. Would it be right to give White and Asian players some

advantage by taking from the Black guys who earned what they have achieved? No way! America wants the best we have to offer, in every field of endeavor, or we will be left behind like today’s students in math and science. Do we really want the next generation to be the worst ever in serious studies, but they feel really good about themselves? That is a sure road to destruction, and why socialism always fails. Eventually, citizens realize, working hard for financial gain is useless under socialism because the government will give YOUR earned extra to someone else! Under socialism, only the leaders can improve their position in life, while workers remain stagnant.

his column is my 500th published column on liberty and the Constitution. I taught the Constitution and Current Events for forty years at the college level and therefore am qualified to pose the following question. “What if fake news is not the only thing that is fake?”

What if things are not as they seem, that we not only have fake news but fake history, education, science, and more?

That our world is far more Orwellian than presumed.

Let’s begin with a not so fake history.

What if after the Civil War certain enterprising and gifted men, such as John D. Rockefeller, Andrew Carnegie, and J. P. Morgan, used the free market philosophy to gain great wealth and monopolistic power over oil, steel, railroads and banking. These men then funding the politicians that would protect their interests from “real” legislative control over their monopolies.

What if they saw even greater wealth and power in expanding their influence to the world arena and financed a president, William McKinley, who with a little help from “yellow journalism,” enticed the United States into war against Spain,

which win, netted America rich, lush, and lavish colonial colonies? These possessions never benefited average America who had to provide the brawn, blood and money to keep the Philippines under subjection while the capitalists reaped huge benefits and profits.

What if these moneyed elite saw the need to create an influence organization, the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR), to make certain that they never lost their new found power to guide foreign policy and future presidents? For almost a hundred years this organization seated a third of the cabinets of all presidents, yet it is never mentioned on globalist

media outlets. This they did by infiltrating with CFR members the Republican and Democratic Parties and ignoring all other parties. J.P. Morgan and John D. Rockefeller purchased all major media streams of news (information) so that the internationalist view alone dominated.

Some form of managed news, fake news, has existed since 1921.

What if these moneyed interests came to the conclusion that to properly manage the world a type of world governance needed to be created which resulted in the League of Nations? But the Constitution, SEE FAKE NEWS IS NOT THE ONLY THING FAKE | PAGE 20

ccording to Zion Market Research, the global demand for hearing aids was approximately $6.32B in 2017 and is expected to reach over $9B by the end of 2024. As with most medical devices, one only need to follow the money to understand what drives political motivations.

That’s it. There’s no improved access to anything; the devices covered by this bill are already available at Wal-Mart.

The Warren bill will simply empower

the FDA to regulate them as medical devices, allowing some companies to use government regulation to their financial advantage.”

Is it a coincidence that Bose headquarters is located in Elizabeth Warren’s home state of Massachusetts? What would it do to Bose’s bottom line to sell “personal sound amplification products (PSAP)” masquerading as actual medical hearing aids?

Juxtapose this government involvement of your hearing with the large hearing aid manufacturers lobbying big dollars against OTC devices. As an example, Starkey Hearing Technologies, one of the largest manufacturers, spent $865,000 on lobbying against OTC hearing aid since the beginning of 2017, up from an earlier high of about $20,000 in 2004.

Also as stated in The Hill, “Buying a PSAP on your own, jamming it into your ear and turning up the volume is an overly simplistic way to treat hearing loss, and could be very dangerous.”

Living with hearing loss is hard work. It is tiring and can leave you exhausted at the end of the day. More important, left untreated, your hearing will get worse!

Research shows that the ability to make sense of what we hear deteriorates more rapidly if the hearing pathway is not stimulated. As a result, the decision to not wear a hearing aid (or to simply buy one OTC without any professional audiology input) may make it more difficult to adapt and benefit from hearing aids later on.

How important is your hearing to you?!

Hearing loss affects your ability to communicate with others and makes you feel self-conscience. Unchecked hearing loss can also lead to isolation and depression.

Should the decision of hearing device you use to be influenced by politicians or lobbyists?

Before you buy a hearing instrument, consider this: Get a checkup!! Rule out correctable medical causes of hearing loss.

Explore your options! The most important decision you make will be your provider.

Be very cautious of providers who offer gimmicks, or worse yet, only offer one brand that may not be the best option for your unique situation.

Understand what type of hearing instrument will work best for you; as opposed to what a provider wants to ‘sell you’.

If a provider won’t give you a trial period and a warranty, you may have the wrong provider.

Beware of misleading claims; hearing aids cannot restore normal hearing or eliminate background noise.

Medicare and most insurance do not cover the cost of the device or procedures, yet. Does a provider offer affordable, medically sound, options and affordable payment plans?

According to the Hearing Loss Association of America, approximately 48 million Americans (20 percent) report some degree of hearing loss. There is no reason to suffer. Hearing loss is way more noticeable than a hearing aid! But, follow sound and reasonable medical advice, not the money.

Why I Honor the American Flag

hy is the American flag so important to us? It’s only cloth in a specific pattern and almost every country has one.

So why is it important to us? It’s not because of what it is but what it symbolizes. We live in a country where we enjoy the rights and freedoms that lots of other countries don’t have. The saying “freedom is never free” becomes very apparent when you look at our

flag. It seems very ironic that people can burn the flag that symbolizes the freedom that gives them the right to do so. It would be difficult to find a family in the United States who has not had relatives who fought or even died fighting for our American flag. I find it very difficult to watch and listen to people who disrespect our flag and country. They are disrespecting the men and women who have fought and died fighting for our country. Perhaps we should all spend a little more time being thankful for all the things

that are right and a little less whining about what is wrong. We are not perfect people; therefore, our country will never be perfect either. I think that we all have an obligation to do everything in our power to make our country better no matter our position in life. It’s not enough that we call our country the United States of America, we all need to be the united people of America.

When I look at the flag and I see the 13 stripes that represent the 13 colonies and 50 stars that represent the 50 states I know that all things are possible. From

a small start, we have grown into the greatest nation on earth. If we can learn to work together who knows what is possible. When I look at the flag, I see a reminder of the past and a symbol of where we’re at. It’s a beacon that calls for me to do more and a promise that if as a people we will do our part we will continue to grow and prosper.

Democrats’ Platform of “Reducing Oil Consumption Through Cleaner Fuels” is Fatally Flawed by Endangering National Security & Immobilizing our Armed Forces

he title of this article should be the main “talking point” for President Donald J. Trump in 2020. There is no issue which is more important than U.S. National Security.

The mobility of U.S. Armed Forces relies entirely upon oil.

The Democrats fatal flaw is that there is no fuel “cleaner” than gasoline. Gasoline emits less carbon dioxide than ethanol.

YOUR federal taxes, whether you are Democrat or Republican, are paid to foreigners for foreign oil imports. That is hundreds of billions of dollars. That should make you angry. That is because of the Democratic platform of “Reducing Oil Consumption Through Cleaner Fuels.”

The Democratic platform of “Reducing Oil Consumption Through Cleaner Fuels” reduces only U.S. oil. Reducing U.S. oil increases foreign oil imports to meet total oil demand. Increasing foreign oil imports endangers National Security. The mobility of U.S. Armed Forces depends exclusively upon oil.

The Democratic platform immobilizes our Armed Forces.

The January 23, 2019 U.S. sanctions against Venezuelan Socialist dictator Maduro PROVE that U.S. taxpayers have been paying foreigners for foreign oil imports for many years. the public health and public welfare of current and future generations. That finding caused fear of carbon dioxide.

Carbon dioxide is not dangerous. Carbon dioxide is a necessary and beneficial gas which is only 0.004% of the earth’s atmosphere and absolutely essential for life to exist on earth. A seventh-grade science teacher can confirm this.

Green fuel such as ethanol was believed by Democrats to be “clean” (i.e. emitting no carbon dioxide). Gasoline was believed by Democrats to be “dirty” (i.e. emitting much carbon dioxide).

That is false. A 1995 Department of Energy study determined that gasoline emits 272 grams of carbon dioxide per

vehicle mile traveled and ethanol emits 301 grams of carbon dioxide per vehicle mile traveled. Gasoline emits less carbon dioxide than ethanol.

Democrats’ political platform has a fatal flaw. There is no fuel “cleaner” than gasoline. This Democratic fatal flaw endangers U.S. National Security and immobilizes our Armed Forces.

But abortion is a civil rights issue. Indeed, most of the lives that have been taken through abortion have been the lives of females and minorities, the very two groups I have defended my whole life.

Alveda King, niece of Martin Luther King says this: Abortion and racism are both symptoms of a fundamental human error. The error is thinking that when someone stands in the way of our wants, we can justify getting that person out of our lives. Abortion and racism stem from the same poisonous root, selfishness.

Trump believes that abortion is wrong...

Democrats are outspoken proponents of it.

2. I support government welfare programs.

On November 1, 1977, fomer Vice President Hubert Humphrey gave a speech at the dedication of the building named for him in Wasington D.C. in which he stated: The moral test of government is how that government treats those who are in the dawn of life, the children; those who are in the twilight of life, the elderly; those who are in the shadows of life, the sick, the needy and the handicapped.

There is, however, a great difference between providing for those in need and becoming a socialist state in which the government creates dependence and undermines independence and self-development of an able-bodied citizenry.

Further, the only way that government can have the money for more and more

www.CaprockPatriot.com extensive and expensive giveaway programs is through taxes. Of course, this also encourages people to not work while penalizing those who do. People or businesses that are heavily taxed simply leave that state or country and set up shop somewhere else. The result is that those who remain are taxed even more in order to fund the welfare system. Reducing taxes of businesses seems, at first blush, to be counter-intuitive. In doing so, however, jobs are created which has the threefold benefit of reducing the need for welfare, increasing state revenue from many more taxpayers, and, above all, restoring dignity to those who become self-supporting.

Trump wants to reduce regulations and taxes on business… Democrats want to have our nation go the way of California that is so desperate for money to support its staggering budget problems that it has taxes cow flatulence… perhaps they plan on creating a health incentive by taxing the obese next.

3. I am against slavery.

150 years ago, slave owners told their “property” where they could sleep, what they could eat, and how they should think. Today, the Democratic Party has become the new “Massa” with government housing, food stamps, and the incessant mantra of “vote Democratic if you know what is good for you.” Under the guise of “caring,” Democrats have been buying votes for a long time. Clinton must have been shocked when she received so many fewer votes from Blacks than she expected but this was totally predictable. When Bill Clinton was leading the minority parade, he was easy to follow but in time that baton was passed to Barack Obama. As he begrudgingly surrendered it to Hillary, it could only be seen as a step backward, hence the significant decline in support from the Black community.

Trump wants to provide jobs and independence to members of our inner cities... Democrats want to find more ways to create servitude and dependence on the government.

4. I am in favor of allowing immigrants to come to our country.

I am not, however, in favor of allowing “illegal” immigrants to come in because this destroys the very principles for which the country stands. We are a nation of law and of order. When the very first thing that a person does is break the law, what kind of message do we give when they are rewarded instead of penalized?

Maybe that is one of the reasons why so many illegal immigrant commit crimes... we teach them right from the start that there is much personal benefit in doing so. What does that mean to all the many people who are following the rules and waiting patiently to become U.S. citizens?

And what on earth are we doing to those poor people who live in fear and turn away whenever they see a policeman or government vehicle go by. The stress that these individuals and their families experience each day must be enormous.

And how fair is it to them that they work long hours for less pay and benefits because to complain would mean the loss of their income, taking people living in our country back to the days of child labor, dangerous unregulated working conditions, as well as the unions and “muckrakers” who championed their cause.

Trump does not want to reward “illegal” immigrants...Democrats reward lawbreakers.

5. I do not like most things that divide people Given the fact that Clinton chose “Stronger Together” as her slogan, this would appear to be one that would go in the direction of the Democrats. Clinton said repeatedly that she wanted to continue the direction that Obama was “leading” our country. No one has ever had a greater opportunity to eliminate any real or perceived racial divides than he had. No one has ever failed more greatly. Almost immediately after getting elected, he criticized the Cambridge police for arresting a black professor who had broken into his own home and then became disorderly and accused the police of racial bias. He sent the attorney general of the United States to investigate a local issue in Ferguson, Missouri.

that had become all but extinguished upon his election with the overwhelming majority of his voters being white. Both Clinton and Obama hold high esteem for Saul Alinsky, a radical “community organizer.” Hillary so admired him that she wrote her senior thesis for Wellesley College on him.

On the dedication page of his book Rules for Radicals, Alinsky wrote: Lest we forget at least an over-the-shoulder acknowledgment to the very first radical; from all our legends, mythology, and history... the first radical known to man who rebelled against the establishment and did it so effectively that he at least won his own kingdom – Lucifer Of Alinsky’s 13 rules, three are worth noting in particular.

Rule one says, “Power is derived from 2 main sources—money and people.”

Rule five states, “Ridicule is man’s most potent weapon.” Rule 13th reads, “Tick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it... Go after people.”

All of the rules deal ultimately with getting power and Democrats want to establish themselves as the leaders of the “downtrodden” masses who will thoughtlessly dance to their song.

Jefferson said it well when he wrote, “A nation of sheep will have a government of wolves.” The power elite almost prevailed in 2016 and the flock of sheep was undoubtedly about to expand under the “gift” of amnesty and the right to vote. The Republican Party would likely be decimated. Instead, the hate and divisiveness that Obama created, and Clinton perpetuated, caused a reaction in the very people who had always been the backbone of the party . . . the working class.

The arrogance of the elitists never saw it coming but Jefferson would have been proud for he wrote: I hold it that a little rebellion now and then is a good thing, and as necessary in the political world as storms in the physical... It is medicine necessary for the sound health of government.

In military circles, Korean War Vets were sadly overshadowed both by the World War II Veterans that came before them and the Vietnam Veterans that

followed. As a result, Korean War veterans have never received the attention and honor they greatly deserve. In this month’s Military Salute, we’ll attempt to rectify that, for at least one man.

It is difficult to truly understand patriotism, honor, and sacrifice unless you’ve had the very real privilege to sit and chat with a 30-year Veteran who served in both the Korean War and Vietnam. Larry Walker is one of those men.

Larry, who celebrated his 89th birthday in March 2019, was born in New York City, in 1930. He grew up in Los Angeles where his father was in the film industry. Incidentally, Larry’s uncle was twotime Academy Award nominee, Walter Pidgeon; remember Admiral Harriman Nelson from Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea – that’s him!

While his six friends joined other branches, 17year old Larry’s love of the sea and his time in Sea Scouts inspired him to join the Navy on March 12, 1947 After boot camp in San Diego, CA, Larry joined his first duty station of the destroyer USS Furse (DDR-882) as a Seaman. Within 10 days of boarding the Furse, the crew weighed anchor for Japan. While WWII was over, the Allied of Japan occupation was still in full force; still very a dangerous time. During that tour of duty, Larry and the crew of the Furse made two round trips across the sea with stops in Pearl Harbor, Guam, Okinawa, Hong Kong, and other “exotic” ports. Larry recalled that while in Okinawa, they were offered a day of liberty (a day off) where they were able to ‘enjoy’ a couple of beers on the beach – with clear instructions to “stay low” because

if they crested the hill behind the beach the Japanese may well shoot them!

Old Salt: True Heroes, Memories of William Everett “Bud” McArthur History has conveniently forgotten how difficult life in the South was for people of all races in the late 1800s and early 1900s. Most of us “country folks” picked cotton and lived a hardscrabble life. Bud was born in 1924 as the eldest son of Perry and Nellie McArthur. They lived the hard life that produced the men that won the big war. Our Grandfather and Father of Perry was killed in a sawmill accident in 1917 leaving Uncle Perry, the eldest son of Everett McArthur, to help his Mom tend a small farm supporting Grandma Mollie and eight surviving children. Grandma and the rest lived in the old farmhouse while Uncle Perry eventually married Nellie and lived in a tiny place on the farm. You would not believe the simple house where Uncle Perry raised Bud and six other wonderful human beings. Uncle Perry and Aunt Nellie were truly humble

n the March issue of The Caprock Patriot, I was humbled by the article written by deceased Buford Brown. If you missed it, please get a copy and read it. The article “Joined the Army to See the World” reminds us of who the true heroes are. Buford Brown was a true hero whom I would love to have met.

Stick with me and I will tell you of my saddest yet fondest memory of my cousin William Everett “Bud” McArthur who died for his country in WWII. It seems, since 911, everyone who has worn a uniform or worked as a public servant has either been deemed or has self-proclaimed to be a hero. Excuse me for this opinion; if you have never been put in harm’s way, shot at, wounded, had to endure unbearable hardship, or had to

risk your life you are hardly a hero. When we over attribute service to your country, wouldn’t you agree we have devalued the meaning of hero as applied to Buford Browns sacrifice?

My life long hero is my cousin William Everett “Bud” McArthur who paid the ultimate price in a Japanese kamikaze attack. I am 81. William Everett would be

95 had he survived. Yes, I do have vivid memories of WWII and I do have a vivid memory of the final time I saw my cousin at the North Carolina farm where we were born. Shortly thereafter, he was to be transformed from a simple country boy to a warrior for his Country.

To call Bud a simple farm boy is way to minimal. A little background is in order.

salt of the earth God-fearing parents.

Aunt Nellie could cook better food on that old wood stove than today’s modern New York chef. Needless to say, that loving yet difficult environment raised loving yet tough as nails young men.

When I say life was rough for Bud, think of this… no electricity, no running water, no phone, no radio, the farm machinery was a couple of good mules. Need I say money was scarce. All the men did back-breaking farming supplemented by hunting and trapping to avoid starving.

Bud, like all McArthur men, knew the rigors of walking a plow behind a mule.

Understandably Bud, as did all McArthur men, was motivated to head to the big cities and a better life. This urge was not completely selfish as all sent money home to support the entire family. I clearly remember my dad moving us to High Point N.C. for that better life.

I remember occasional visits back to the farm and seeing Uncle Perry and my cousins prior to the war. On a visit in 1941, believe it or not, as a little boy of four I remember my cousin and his kindness to me. That last time is like a movie in my brain. I see a vivid picture of Bud rigging the farm wagon and hitching up the mule, with his two brothers Sam and Junior there annoyed by me and my brother being in the way. I see those piercing bluegray eyes of Bud, in the midst of their preparation for work, as he suddenly lifts me up into the wagon. It still brings a tear when I remember his kindness to a little boy. After a short ride, I was dropped off at Grandma’s house. Little did I realize he would be off to war and I was not to see him again. Not long after seeing Bud, Pearl Harbor was bombed, and the U.S. declared war on Japan and Germany.

Bud, at 18 years and 3 months, signed up for the draft December 13, 1942, as required by law. Just prior to that, Bud had landed a job in Wilmington N.C. with the North Carolina Ship Building Company.

Warships were being built at every port in America and this was Buds chance to do what all McArthur men do, leave

www.CaprockPatriot.com the farm. This hard as steel farm young man left home to make some money for the family he loved. Certainly, he understood he would be drafted soon enough.

Again, being a McArthur, he took his newly learned ship building experience and enlisted in U.S. Navy on September 25, 1943, at age 19 Years and 2 months.

Bud was never to see the rigors of farm life again instead was off to become a plank holding member of one of the most storied Destroyers of WWII. For you landlubbers, plank holder means you are the original crew of a new ship, a distinct honor in the U.S. Navy.

The Muster Roll of the U.S.S. O’Brien (DD725) verifies Bud first boarded the ship February 25, 1944. All of Buds Navy history is obtained from Navy records and the war record of the U.S.S. O’Brien.

Bud had an amazing and dangerous adventure over the next little over a year’s time. The ending was tragic for our hero and many of his shipmates. In December 1943, after boot camp, Bud joined others for intense training in preparation to man the new ship. The U.S.S. O’Brien (DD725) was launched at Bath Iron Works, Bath Maine. Two months later, February 25, 1944, the ship was commissioned at Boston Naval Ship Yard. This is the same day Bud and the initial crew came aboard.

Soon after commissioning this new state of the art ship headed for a twomonth shakedown cruise to Bermuda, British West Indies and Norfolk, Virginia.

I have been on shakedown cruises and can tell you it’s no picnic! It’s up to the crew to put the ship through its paces and complete anything missed by the shipbuilders. It’s no pleasure cruise.

By May 1944, the O’Brien and crew headed out of Norfolk, off for war. I can only hope, in the intervening time, Bud had chances to enjoy a bit of a sailor’s liberty. Liberty is the Navy word for a weekend pass or a day off. I spoke to Bud’s only surviving brother, Johnny McArthur, and he told me of the family receiving touching letter from girls in various ports.

Sounds like the tough yet charming farm lad made good friends!

It’s hard to believe this small but powerful warship with its complement of 336

souls traveled thousands of miles to the European and through many Pacific war theatres. I spent my time on aircraft carriers and saw some rough seas. Any destroyer sailor would rightly scoff at that statement. When we were not on duty, we spent our time either watching flight operations or observing our destroyer escorts.

In rough seas, our destroyer friends often looked more like submarines than surface ships as they disappeared from view only to quickly reappear. I could not but wonder how the crew could function. My hat is off to any and all destroyer sailors.

End of Part One Due to the limited space allotted for this month’s article, I had to break this into two parts. Out of respect for William Everett “Bud” McArthur his story too important to abbreviate. Join me in May for the rest of the story. Don’t miss Part Two next month!

than 100 missions to South Vietnam without losing a single bomber to enemy aircraft fire.

Larry retired from the Air Force, as a Master Sergeant, in March of 1977.

Like many Veterans, Larry continues to serve in retirement with many Veteran and non-Veteran groups such as Veterans of Foreign Wars (lifetime member), American Legion, Elks Lodge, Disabled American Veterans, Shriners, and Texas South Plains Honor Flight.

In 2014, Larry was privileged to go to Washington D.C., with dozens of other Veterans, on his own Honor Flight. On that trip, they had the chance to pay homage to their fellow brothers and sister in arms by visiting the many War and Service Memorials built in their honor. Honor Flight had such an impact on Larry, that he and his wife, Dianna, have since volunteered and served many other Veterans through Honor Flight.

Talking to Larry about this trip, one can see the visible pride and nostalgia of that

experience that Larry describes as, “A trip of a lifetime”.

Larry’s dedication to our country and commitment to service was clearly passed down to his three children who all served this great country: one daughter a 28-year US Air Force retired Senior Master Sergeant; another daughter with 25-years of service in the US Border Patrol; and a son with ten years in the US Navy in submarine service.

As with many Veterans, Larry cherishes his time in the military and encourages every young person to serve. The education, discipline, accountability, and respect Larry learned in the military was the chance of a lifetime and made him into the quiet and humble hero he is today.

A Gun Safe: Safety, Protection, Storage & Peace of Mind!

O

ne of the things that are overlooked in our industry is gun safes. Most gun owners store their small gun collection in a closet, top drawer of a dresser or even under the bed. A gun safe is not a small decision to make, and as a person’s gun collection grows, many things need to be considered.

One of the biggest reasons for a person to purchase a safe is for safety.

It is important to teach our kids gun safety, especially when nearly 40%of unintentional shooting deaths happen among children ages 11-14 in a friend’s home. Making sure all firearms are locked in a gun safe before your kids have friends over can help prevent tragedy in the home. Gun safes give peace of mind that everything is stored in a secure place that only the owner can access.

Protecting your investments from theft or fire is also another good reason for a gun safe. Fire ratings on safes start at 30 minutes and go all the way up to 120 minutes at 1200-1500 degrees. Average response time for most fire departments is around 15 minutes, so be sure you have a long enough fire rating to cover the time needed for them to get to your home. Where you place the safe also needs to be considered because the fire department will work from the outside in. If your safe is in the center of the house will take a few extra minutes to put the fire out in that location. Consider all these factors when you look at the fire rating on your new safe.

Gun safes can be utilized not only for storing gun collections, but also other valuables such as jewelry, important documents and pictures. That’s right,

Some of us still have good old-fashioned pictures that were taken with a good old-fashioned camera. Most People have documents such as birth certificates, wills and trust. Some safes even have a specific spot for paper documents called cool pockets that add additional protection. Jewelry is another item that can have great value, not to mention the heirlooms. Your gun safe is the perfect spot to keep things like grandmother’s wedding ring or a pocket watch that has been handed down from generation to generation.

A gun safe will keep items like these protected from both theft or fire.

When trying to determine how much to spend on a gun safe, a good rule of thumb is to take an assessment of all the valuables that you will store in your

safe and multiply that value by 15%20%. This is the amount you should start with for your budget. For example, if your gun collection is valued at $5,000, then your budget for a safe should be approximately $750-$1,000.

Then, there are always those precious items such as heirlooms, old pictures, and important documents that are priceless, so keep this in mind when shopping as well.

The size of a safe is also very important. They can start as small as a ten-gun safe and go all the way up to a safe that can hold up to 60 guns with two top shelves. Remember that if a manufacturer states that their safe can store 30 guns, the rule is to cut that number in half. Pros of the Second Amendment

1. The Second Amendment creates a deterrent for crime.

There is a significant decrease in crime levels when individuals have the right to protect themselves with a firearm. Dr. Gary Kleck noted in his research from 1997 that assault and robbery victims who use a gun to resist a crime are less likely to be attacked, or suffer an injury, when compared to those who use other forms of self-defense. When a victim displays a gun to protect themselves, the criminal retreats over 55% of the time.

If everyone has the right to protect their homes in this way, then the levels of uncertainty create a deterrent for crime.

2. The Second Amendment can reduce other forms of crime.

Dr. John Lott research shows the impact that the right to own firearms has

on other potentially violent crimes in society. He discovered that the presence of gun laws that support ownership reduce homicide levels by roughly 9%, aggravated assault by 7%, and sexual assault, including rape, by 5%. Lott also found that positive gun laws like the Second Amendment can lower the rate of robberies in society by up to 3%.

3. The Second Amendment allows people to feel safe, even if they never use it.

Although it would be a benefit to society for law enforcement to be highly responsive in every possible situation, that is not always the case. It is impossible for the government to protect every person or household from potential harm. Police are a resource to use in emergency situations, but they are not a guarantee of help. That means it is the responsibility of the adult in each household to

defend themselves and their loved ones from a possible attack.

Home invasions are not always violent, but they do have the potential to create harm. 11% of burglars will remove a door or window during their attempt while the owners are still at home. Over 1 million home invasions occur each year in the United States. Most happened between 10 AM and 3 PM. If you are home at this time, then you can protect yourself thanks to the Second Amendment.

4. The Second Amendment allows for legal fairness in a dangerous situation.

It is not a proper argument to say that all criminals carry guns. Some will, but many others do not. When you look at this issue from a societal perspective, no one knows if a criminal decided to bring a deadly weapon with them when they made the decision to commit a crime. The Second Amendment makes it possible

for the average person to legally protect themselves from the possibility of an armed attack.

5. The Second Amendment discourages crime in other ways as well.

The Texas Concealed Handgun Association researched the levels of crime committed in the demographic of a legal concealed carry weapon permit holder compared to the general population. They found that someone approved to carry a handgun in public while concealed is about six times less likely to commit a crime then the rest of the population when non-violent offenses were considered. 6. The Second Amendment follows the desire of the founding The Second Amendment, as it is currently applied to individual ownership, seems to be the implied intent of the founding fathers. When you look at the various document drafts that these men created or the speeches they offered, then there is a clear preference for the right to own a firearm.

George Washington once said, “A people who are free out not only to be armed, but also disciplined”. Thomas Jefferson wrote that free men should never be debarred from the use of arms. Benjamin Franklin suggested that the people who were willing to give up liberty for sanctioned security deserved neither. George Mason said that disarming people was the most effectual way to enslave them.

7. The Second Amendment allows for responsible ownership.

If there is a failure about responsible gun ownership in the United States, then the fault doesn’t lie with the Second Amendment. It is an issue that we must address as a culture. There is nothing in the way to stop people from own specific types of weapons. Licensing requirements could become part of this legal structure.

It is essential that we remember that a gun is a tool. We are the ones who are responsible for wielding it ways that are beneficial. That structures gives us the freedom to own firearms for sporting purposes, self-defense, and hunting without relying on a bureaucracy.

8. The Second Amendment is a symbol of freedom.

From an internal perspective for many Americans, the Second Amendment is symbol of their freedom. Even if they don’t want to own a firearm, having the ability to purchase one if they change their mind is an important part of the society. It is a reflection of the individual liberties which are present in the culture.

When you have permission to own a gun, then it becomes an effective check-andbalance on the rest of society. That’s why there is a lot of resistance to gun control measures when they come up.

9. The Second Amendment also secures the right of a well-regulated militia.

The right to have a well-regulated militia that contributes to the overall defense of a community helps to keep people safe as well. Although we have moved on to a volunteer military and use police officers to keep the peace, this structure makes it possible for people to get together and defend their homes should the need to do so ever arise.

10. The Second Amendment can encourage people to make a better life for themselves.

If you want to own a firearm under the current structure of the United States, then there are some background issues that you must pass before this is allowed.

There are categories of prohibited people who cannot purchase or possess guns, despite the language of the Second Amendment. Background checks have prevented over 3 million transactions that were potentially dangerous since their inception.

time, man-made climate change is a proven hoax. O’Rourke passionately warns that not embracing the Green New Deal will lead to the extinction of the human race in a decade or so. Here’s a reminder of the insanity in the Green New Deal. By 2030, we must end air travel; end the use of fossil fuels; mandate that every new job be unionized; decommission every nuclear plant; rebuild every building in America for state-of-the-art energy efficiency; and let the government fund everyone, including deadbeats who refuse to work.

O’Rourke continued his trademark deception tactic. He said we should ensure immigrants “lawful paths to work.” Wait a minute, dude. You and your fellow Democrats say the heck with our immigration laws; let’s roll out the red carpet for illegals. Democrats say because we have pillaged the world’s resources and because we are racist, sexist, and homophobic, we do not have the moral authority to keep anyone out of our country. Not only is O’Rourke fighting to stop Trump from building a border wall to keep Americans safe, but he wants to tear down the existing border wall in El Paso, Texas.

O’Rourke said we should “listen to and lift up rural America.” The truth is, O’Rourke and his fellow Democrats despise rural America. Rural Americans voted for Trump, desire to keep their guns, attend Christian churches on Sundays, believe that marriage is between one man and one woman, and believe that abortion and infanticide are evil. Pandering to rural America is simply more of O’Rourke’s campaign of deception.

As a black American, I was stunned when O’Rourke said we should “confront the hard truths of slavery, and segregation, and suppression in these United States of America.” What the heck is he talking about? Ratification of the Thirteenth Amendment in 1865 ended slavery in America. The only segregation I am aware of is black students segregating themselves on college campuses, demanding black student unions and race-based housing facilities. Who are the masses of Americans O’Rourke claims we are suppressing? Do you see O’Rourke using Democrats’ disgusting tactic of dividing Americans into bogus victimized voting blocs?

After spewing gloom and doom, America-sucks, and everyone-is-a-victim lies, O’Rourke had the audacity to say, “This is going to be a positive campaign.” I laughed out loud.

O’Rourke is anti-law enforcement, voting against ICE. He calls our nation’s police “the new Jim Crow,” which cruelly paints targets on the backs of our brave men and women in blue to be assassinated by Black Lives Matter.

Kate Steinle was shot and killed by an illegal alien who was deported several times and kept coming back to his sanctuary city, San Francisco.

Kate’s Law would give mandatory jail time to illegals who repeatedly break our immigration laws. O’Rourke voted against Kate’s Law. Supposed man of the people O’Rourke voted against Trump’s tax cuts. O’Rourke wants single-payer health care, which leads to rationed health care, in which the government makes funding decisions, determining who lives and who dies.

While in Texas campaigning for Ted Cruz, I got to witness O’Rourke’s deceptive tactics up close when he ran for U.S. Senate. My brother and sister fellow Americans, our country deserves much better than sociopath conman Robert Francis “Beto” O’Rourke.

time, but still lacks clear documentation that man actually is the agent of that change? What is missed in the argument, and the probable reason it is still seriously discussed, is that it benefits the globalist. If viewed as a globalist problem, it therefore requires a world government solution.

The plan required fake education at least in the above categories and peripheral areas of sociology and political science as well. As world government requires total control, first mind control through education then force for those not “properly” educated. A philosophy opposite limited government is the only government that could work. Socialism, which never worked in the USSR, China, North Vietnam, Cuba, North Korea, Venezuela or any other place on earth, must be made to be a part of the intended new world order. World socialism would allow no competing ideologies; no place to flee. This philosophy permeates university campuses

today. I had few colleagues who did not advocate it.

The plan required fake news. All the globalist news outlets are owned by the moneyed elite and promote the fake history, fake science, fake education scenario as described above. Today parents send their young adults to college to be educated but instead they are largely propagandized and return home advocates of something their parents oppose.

Perhaps it is time to drop the “what if” in the above scenario.

ll Christians and all churches, please join us in a prayer walk/ drive on April 13th, beginning at 9:30am at Southcrest Baptist Church (back west parking lot), 3801 S Loop 289, Lubbock.

“Unless the Lord stands watch over the city, the watchmen stand guard in vain” (Psalms 127:1b NIV).

Why is God raising up prayer walking now? God bathes Christians with hope. It’s a huge hope; like a collective holy hunch that He’s about to do some of the finest displays of citywide salvation. Prayer has always been God’s way of putting His name on future events.

He’s positioning us to pray for huge and positive things in Lubbock. We prayer walk/drive to give our prayers for very specific attachment to places and people.

A prayer walk/drive is a way that God is granting us a clear look at the “before” portrait of our cities. When days of great harvest come about, we will clearly see a very different “after” picture, and praise him all the more exuberantly.

Why do a City Prayer Walk? Cities are spiritual battlegrounds. There is oppression, depression, and physical and spiritual strife. Crime rates take a toll. Spiritual health is often neglected due to people worrying about where their next meal will come from or if they will have a place to sleep tonight. Praying for our city is not the LEAST thing we can do—it is the BEST thing that we can do for Lubbock. This is God’s battle and we need to bombard Heaven with our praise and petitions for our cities.

We are all well aware that no outreach campaign or strategy succeeds when the Lord is not at work in the hearts of those we are trying to reach. Prayer walking/ driving is vital to the success of community outreach.

Remember Matthew 9:35-38, “Jesus went through all the towns and villages, teaching in their synagogues, proclaiming the good news of the kingdom and healing every disease and sickness. When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd.

Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask

the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.”

Reports from many communities that have taken part in similar events, and the theme that continues to emerge, is that those who strategically prayer walk/drive their communities see greater results than those who do not.

As an example, in 2017, Kentucky Governor Matt Bevin called on the “power of prayer” to help combat Louisville’s rising crime rate as he urged people to form prayer groups to walk high-crime neighborhoods.

Bevin, a socially conservative Republican, said it’s a chance for “people of faith to put their faith to work.” He encouraged residents from the neighborhoods to walk with people living in nearby neighborhoods in crisis. Bevin said the rising murder rate required law enforcement and economic solutions. Yet, he said, “There is no amount of money from any source that’s going to fix this problem.”

To fix the situation, he suggested people think differently. Work to change hearts first. Only after hearts are changed, will investment of money make a difference. In his words, “That’s it! Pretty

unsophisticated. Pretty uncomplicated.

Pretty basic. But I truly believe we’re going to see a difference in our city. I personally believe in the power of prayer.

I’ve seen it.”

Similarly, Lubbock has an abundance of problems that we need to pray against such as drugs/opioid use, suicide, sex trafficking, drunk driving, teen confusion/problems, shootings, and apathy to name a few. We need to pray for our social services, EMS, Police and fire departments, our churches and Christians, the salvation of the lost, our city council and county officials.

The additional value of location-praying has to do with presence. Since Jesus lives within you and the Holy Spirit works through you, there is a sense that your prayer walk/drive provides “light in dark places and salt in unsavory places” (Matthew 5:13-16). If your body really is a “temple of God” (I Corinthians 3:16) then where you go, you represent His presence.

Prayer walking/driving is primarily a chance for each of us to talk with God about the people rather than talking to the people about God. God said to Jeremiah, “Call to Me and I will answer you and tell you great and mighty things, which you do not know” (Jeremiah 33:3).

As we walk or drive, we: 1. Pray for spiritual awakening in the churches in Lubbock.

April Fools and His-story

ome fools believe the empty tomb of Jesus is fake news! Fools for Christ believe His empty tomb is Great news. Some dates in world history are pivotal, crossroads moments. One of those His-torical God moments was the morning three days after Jesus hung lifeless on a killing tree. Human witnesses discovered that an empty tomb now empowered them to live as “Fools for Christ”. God’s desire for His children has always been for them to enjoy spiritual, emotional, economic, and political freedom. God uses ‘Fools for Christ’ to help institute the governmental authorities that God puts in place to protect and to serve the citizens of any nation.

Another God-moment happened in 1691. Persecuted Christians crossed the Atlantic Ocean and founded a colony of people on what would become the United States of America. They freely chose to live in a community governed by Biblical guidelines in what would become the state of Massachusetts.

The April Fool’s Day tradition began in the 1700s in England. An American judge recently rebuked a whining atheist, when moaning that he had no holiday to celebrate his atheistic faith, with a powerful Bible verse. He quoted from the book of Psalms chapter 14, “A fool says in his heart there is no God,” April

April 2019 events in America force all of its citizens to question the viability of the most remembered words of the 1776 Declaration of Independence…”We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.” The God, that the Bible says directs the affairs of humanity, inspired 56 delegates from 13 states to declare that certain rights cannot be taken away from citizens of the proposed new nation called the United States of America. Inalienable rights of all citizens, from the womb to the tomb, are gifted to each of us by our Creator.

As the dream for political freedom grew, God’s people were directed to seek independence from Mexico in the territory that would become the state of Texas.

In 1836 about 200 plus people died at the Alamo to make this dream become a reality.

In 1841, a small group of Christians established a congregation that opposed the ownership of slaves. This congregation still worships regularly in a village 70 miles north of New York City. Yes, the Hudson River Valley depended heavily upon slave labor to develop and sustain agricultural growth. The founder of the Caprock Patriot was a member of this congregation several years ago. God used

Paul’s love of God and country to advance the spiritual freedom agenda of our common Creator and spiritual Father, in that congregation.

So, this April, some fools believe God does not exist and that humans are the offspring of apes; not creations, just a little lower in value than angels (Psalm 8:5). Our nation began with a vision from a Creator God. It has survived a Civil War (1861-65) fought to defend the unalienable rights of people forced to come to America as slaves. President Lincoln called it an act of judgment for the sin of slavery.

God’s truth and activity marches on in American history as evidenced by the following events. In 1954, “under God” was added to our country’s pledge of allegiance to its flag. In 1956, “In God we trust” was added to our paper currency.

The year 1963 marks a spiritual pivot point when the Supreme Court illegalized public prayer to the Creator who gifted us our unalienable rights, in our public schools.

In 1973, our American Supreme Court ruled the rights of “choice” for mothers was greater than the right for life for children with heartbeats and feeling pain. The blood of sixty million children cries out from our American landfills for justice since that ruling. Perhaps the September 11, 2001 attack on our Twin Towers in New York City was also a judgment call from God. In January 2019, an’ Alamo-like stand’ has begun in Lubbock, Texas. Perhaps the Caprock Patriot is an instrument God is using to prepare and motivate a

spiritual army to fight unashamedly for the spiritual freedom and unalienable rights gifted to all American citizens.

Now we are a nation divided over defending the unalienable rights of babies, in or out of the sanctuary of their mother’s womb. In February 2019, three states in America declared that babies outside the womb did not have a right to live. American Senators voted 53-44 to approve of infanticide on Feb. 25, 2019. The movie Gosnell documents the brutal homicide of these little people in America.

March 29, 2019, a movie titled “Unplanned” will be shown in theaters across America. I believe this is a God-inspired effort to rally God’s spiritual army to defend the rights of all its citizens.

On May 4, 2019, fools for Christ will be in Times Square in New York City projecting a 4D ultrasound of an unborn child on a jumbotron screen. This will be done to keep alive the most remembered words of our country’s Declaration of Independence.

Yes, Jesus is alive! We must daily choose to live as a fool for Christ or a fool against His rule. His Truth will continue to march on with or without this republic called America.

The Free Fall of Faith

everal years ago, I had the honor of being on the same program with a true American hero, Dana Bowman. Years earlier Dana had lost both of his legs in a skydiving accident.

I was so impressed with this man because of his determination and positive attitude. After the event, he invited me to be a part of a retreat for 40 wounded warriors called “A Weekend to Remember.” He explained that they would be providing “adventures” for the warriors which included, bow fishing, driving a NASCAR, shooting machine guns, wild hog hunting and doing a tandem parachute jump. He went on to say that the soldiers really appreciated it when the program personalities also took part in their “adventures.” I was excited to be a part of such a meaningful weekend even though I realized that I had just committed myself to something that truly terrified me; jumping out an airplane that was flying over 2 miles above the earth.

Part of me was thrilled at the thought of flying like an eagle while the other part was petrified knowing I’d be hurtling towards earth at speeds in excess of 140 miles per hour. At times I felt like an invincible schoolboy while at other times I wondered if I’d be screaming like a frightened little girl.

My moment of truth came on Friday, March 7th, at the Hamilton, TX, Municipal Airport. After we got our jumpsuits on, we all started giving each other high fives and chest bumps acting like rock stars. However, as we boarded our plane the loud bravado slowly became subdued and as we climbed to over 12,000 feet the eerie silence became almost deafening. Looking out of the window, what was once feelings of pure elation had changed to thoughts of impending doom. My jump partner helped me stay calm by explaining exactly what was about to happen. When the team in front of us went out the door, as instructed, I scooted over to the open door and let my legs dangle out of the plane. Then he gave me the thumbs up and we simply leaned forward and fell out of the plane. The cold wind slapped me in the face at 140 mph and as I looked down at the rapidly approaching earth, I had what all 1st-time jumpers experience; something called the “come to Jesus” moment when you suddenly realize that you are no longer in the safety of the plane. I was told ahead of time that would probably happen to me so when it did, I was able to snap back to reality and form my body in a U shape with my belly button aimed toward the ground. Then I put my hands up and to the side which gave us a stable position to free fall for a mile before he opened the chute. For the

next 4 or 5 minutes, we gently floated to our landing zone. On the way down, we did some pendulum swings and used the crosswind to actually race across the sky instead of just going downward.

Some folks who saw me land said that the expression on my face was that of unbridled freedom and gladness. One of the best things that happened was that there were several wounded warriors who told me they jumped because they could see how much fun I had on my jump.

The spiritual lesson: Many times, the Lord will ask us to let go of what we are depending on and step completely out of our comfort zone. And at times He will

purposely wait to “deploy the chute” to see if we’ll trust Him as He leads us on our journey. The time between letting go and His provision is called the free fall of faith, and it’s in those moments we demonstrate how much we trust the Lord and fully experience the thrill of seeing His promises fulfilled in our lives.

Be the Miracle A

t my last church, I led a class called “Sign & Wonders”. Each week I would have one guest come and speak to share their testimony. In every testimony, there was a sign, a miracle, or both, mentioned. Each testimony was mind blowing and life changing for those in the class-- and even more so for the speakers.

What surprised me the most in leading this class was when I would ask someone if they would like to share their testimony, often times their response was, “I don’t have a testimony”. Those words would break my heart. 1 John 5:10 says, “Whoever believes in the Son of God has the testimony in himself.”

We all have many testimonies. Scripture tells us Jesus could do nothing without his Father. We, too, need to believe and know we can do nothing without Him. Therefore, ALL that we do is because of God and He deserves all the credit. Some would still find it hard to find their testimony and feel they had no big “miracle event” in their life worth sharing. One of the ways I would describe a miracle to my potential speaker (to help them realize they had a testimony) was by reciting a scene from the movie Bruce Almighty when Morgan Freeman played God. He described a miracle like this, “A single mom who works two jobs and still finds time to take her child to soccer practice, that’s a miracle. A teenager who says no to drugs and yes to a college education, that’s a miracle. People want me (God) to do everything for them, and what they don’t realize is, they have the power. You want to see a miracle, be the miracle.”

A miracle is a phenomenon not explained by natural or scientific laws. Jesus came and performed many miracles and we believe His sole purpose was to draw people to the Kingdom of God. After performing the greatest miracle of all by defeating death, He came back to tell us, “very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am” (John 14:12-14).

All of us, as believers, are called to be disciples. We are here to further His desire for us to continue to grow the kingdom. One of the most powerful ways we can do that is by sharing our testimony – it will allow others to see God’s signs, wonders and the miracles still happening today. Know that He is with you and all that you do is His written story. Be strong and courageous, shout for joy, and look for opportunities to share and praise Him in all that you do today.

Honk if You Love Jesus G

ot a letter from Grandma the other day, she writes: God bless you all. I just had to write to you about the wonderful experience I had the other day. I went up to the local Christian bookstore and saw a “Honk if you love Jesus” bumper sticker. I was feeling particularly sassy that day because I had just come from a thrilling choir performance, followed by a thunderous prayer meeting, so I bought the sticker and put it on my bumper.

Boy, I’m glad I did! What an uplifting experience that followed! I was stopped at a red light at a busy intersection, just lost in thought about the Lord and how good He is, I didn’t notice that the light had changed.

It is a good thing someone else loves Jesus because if he hadn’t honked, I’d never have noticed! I found that LOTS of people love Jesus! Why, while I was sitting there, the guy behind started honking like crazy, and then he leaned out of his window and screamed, “For the love of GOD! GO! GO! Jesus Christ, GO!” What an exuberant cheerleader he was for Jesus! Everyone started honking!

I just leaned out of my window and started waving and smiling at all these loving people. I even honked my horn a few times to share in the love!

There must have been a man from Florida back there because I heard him yelling something about a “sunny beach.”

I saw another guy waving in a funny way with only his middle finger stuck up in the air. Then I asked my teenage grandson in the back seat what that meant. He said that it was probably a “Hawaiian good luck sign” or something. Well, I’ve never met anyone from Hawaii, so I leaned out the window and gave him the good luck sign back. My grandson burst out laughing ... why, even he was enjoying this religious experience!

A couple of the people were so caught up in the joy of the moment that they got out of their cars and started walking towards me. I bet they wanted to pray or ask what church I attended, but this is when I noticed the light had changed. So, I waved to all my sisters and brothers grinning and drove on through the intersection.

I noticed I was the only car that got through the intersection before the light changed again. I felt kind of sad that I had to leave them after all the love we had shared, so I slowed the car down, leaned out of the window and gave them all the Hawaiian good luck sign one last time as I drove away.

10. Pray that Lubbock would recognize the time of God’s visitation.

So, how does this work? When you arrive at Southcrest Baptist Church, Saturday, April 13th, at 9:30am, you can request a certain area of town to walk (or drive) while you pray; or a team leader will assign you an area based off of

various neighborhood prayer requests.

The goal is to have prayer teams heading in prayer across the four corners of the city by 10:00am. After each group completes their prayers in their assigned area, everyone will meet back at Southcrest Baptist Church at 11:45am for a closing prayer at noon. Wear comfy shoes, come in teams if you can, and bring water if you’re walking.

Let’s take back our city one street at a time. We can’t run from our problems.

We won’t run from our enemy!! We will stand our ground in prayer!
