Multipurpose university building in Toulouse
The Duportal operation is part of the overall development plan for the real estate resources of the University Toulouse 1 Capitole, which includes an additional 12,000 square meters of floor space in two phases. This will provide the University with additional amphitheaters, teaching rooms, sports facilities, and university medical services. The Duportal operation is located on plot AE 826 197, which currently houses the private car park for the administrative city of Toulouse, located in an enclave to the northwest of the Arsenal campus. The University’s acquisition of this land marks the genesis of the operation.
The client, University Toulouse 1 Capitole, intends to provide its Arsenal campus with a new university building for the first phase of the operation, which will house sports, teaching, and medical facilities. This university building will mark the first phase of a larger development project aimed at completely requalifying the
North and West entrances of the campus, thus creating a new entrance.
The development of the Arsenal site following the acquisition of the large parking lot of the administrative city is a unique opportunity for University Toulouse 1 Capitole. In the short term, it provides the opportunity to build a facility that meets all urgent needs for teaching, sports, and medicine. However, the challenge of this project is to integrate this first step into a longer-term development process. Connecting with the city means creating links between residents, students, and teaching staff. This connection is built through the ability to welcome people. Today, this welcome revolves around specific knowledge, open lectures, and access to books in the library. This program provides an opportunity to bring together campus-specific situations and non-specific events such as sports and preventive medicine.

State administrative offices in Nantes
This building is intended to host state services and is part of a dual perspective: to offer new working conditions to users and to demonstrate environmental leadership through an urban and landscape project that transforms the island of Nantes. It is from this overall view that we have built our project. As designers, the awareness of the need to act for the climate leads us to think of the architecture of the building as the translation of a substantial evolution in the tertiary sector.
The lower part of the building is a unified R+3 building whose general morphology is that of a courtyard building, a distinctly urban feature
that offers the richness of a protected and peaceful inside through two vast planted courtyards. In the superstructure, two «blocks» in R+5 and R+7 emerge, the tallest being located at the alignment to form a monumental anchor of the building on the public space and to introduce the verticality of neighboring buildings. This strategy of alternating heights generously allows light to pass through the heart of the block, thus offering a quality of sunshine necessary for both urban voids and interior spaces. The roofs are valued and offer a «suspended garden» located at mid-height and accessible to all users, whose vegetal crown benefits both the public space and neighboring homes.

Extension of the Departmental Archives in Vannes
The construction of the extension of the Departemental Archives in Vannes must meet multiple challenges that we address in detail in the architectural and technical specifications. Here, we would like to share with you the main intentions that gave rise to the architecture of this extension, as well as the specific elements of the context that guided our thinking.
Considering the question of the unity and coherence of the building’s silhouette as an essential objective, we chose to amplify and strengthen the original layout. By extending the size of the storage areas, we affirm the unity of the institution and the
coherence of its development over time. This principle allows for the placement of a set of 10 large-capacity archive storage areas on levels 7, 6, 5, 4, and 3 in continuity with the existing 20 storage areas, thus creating a homogeneous functional ensemble. On level 2, as requested by the program, we place the special storage areas and the relaxation area, which benefits from a sheltered and sunny terrace. At this level, the existing link bridge is duplicated in order to connect an ensemble of existing offices on the south facade, which is currently cut off from personal circulation. The parking area is located in place of the existing parking and is sheltered under pilotis.
