CHAROLAIS

This 10th Annual sale provides quality bulls in white, tan and red factor. From bulls that would work in the heifer pen to power bulls that will give you as much performance as you would like, they are all here. Six consignors have put forth the top of their bull pens for you to evaluate and add to your programs. These breeders are here for the long haul and will work to provide you with bulls that will last. The coming twoyear old bulls in the sale are designed to be that and are not leftovers, but younger aged bulls born at grass time. If you are looking for quality two-year old and yearling bulls, we encourage you to come and have a look. We welcome everyone to come for lunch and a great set of bulls from some very enthusiastic producers.
Again this past fall, we saw the premium paid for the Charcross calves as consistently high as it has ever been in the auction markets. Crossbreeding is essential to maximize profits in the cattle business and these bulls will give you the added performance, meat and hair that will put your calves in the top cut pen come sale time. The easiest way to improve your calf crop is with a top quality bull.
Feel free to give the consignors a call or stop and have a visit with them before sale day if you want a little extra time to meet the breeders and see their operations. The sale this year will once again be broadcast live on DLMS.ca. We hope you can join us in Neepawa for the sale but if you can’t make the sale, you can view and bid online. Please register early if you are going to take advantage of this service. There are videos of the bulls online at www.bylivestock.com.
The bulls will be available for viewing the day before and the morning of the sale for your convenience.
If Candace or I can be of any assistance before the sale, or on sale day, please don’t hesitate to give us a call. We would be happy to find you a bull that is right for your program and make your bull buying experience a pleasant one.
Sincerely,
Helge & Candace By By LivestockRON

Welcome To The 10th Annual Prairie Distinction Bull Sale.
Hard to believe it has been 10 years already! We are 1 of 2 original consignors to the sale. It’s been a journey over the 10 years, and we’ve met many great people over that time. THANK YOU so much to all our customers for your support.
This year we have a selection of heifer bulls, power bulls and red factor bulls to meet any needs you have. These bulls have length, natural thickness, hair and are free moving. They have all been 100K tested and 10 out of the 14 are Homozygous Polled. They are fed a Masterfeeds 12% grower pellet, corn silage, grass hay and mineral; all their shots are up to date.
Please feel free to give me a call with any questions you have. View the videos online or come and view the bulls before the sale.
Hope to see you at the 10th Annual Sale.

Welcome to the 10th Annual Prairie Distinction Bull Sale!
We would like to thank our past and future customers. This is our third year consigning bulls to this sale. My wife and I have been raising purebred bulls for five years now and are very proud of the group of bulls we have on offer this year. When choosing bulls to bring to the sale it wasn’t hard to choose these six, they really show what we strive for in our bull pen.
From performance to calving ease, these bulls have it all. They have been developed on a 14% Bull grower ration, through Trouw Nurtition and free choice grass hay. Our herd is on a Bovi-Shield Gold/ Scour Bos9 program and all bulls are up to date on their vaccinations.
Please feel free to stop by the farm anytime to tour the pen and see the females that back these future herd bulls.
Bring your trailer sale day and Crocus Valley Farms will give you a $100 discount per bull. Delivery of bulls within 200 km of the farm will be Free of Charge, beyond that will be at cost.

Welcome to the Prairie Distinction Bull Sale. Megan and I are consigning for the second year and are offering four bulls out of our top producing cows. Three of the four bulls had maternal brothers in the sale last year. We focus on females that can withstand the demands in a commercial herd. We currently run our herd of 40 purebred cows alongside my parents’ herd of 150 Angus cross commercial cows bred back to Charolais bulls that we raise ourselves. Our cows are not given any special treatment for the most part. Most of our cows spend the summers in community pastures so feet and structure are big things for us.
These bulls have been developed slowly with 14% bull grower through Trouw Nutrition and given free choice hay. All our bulls will sell with a satisfactory semen test and breeding soundness evaluation carried out by the team at Innovative Veterinary Services in Brandon. We look forward to seeing you in Neepawa.

JOHNSTON CHAROLAIS • LOTS 33-41
We have selected herdbulls that offer a balance of calving ease, growth, the right type and maternal traits. We calve on grass later in spring so these guys are developed gently over the 20 months. We have fed these bulls so that in June when they went to native grass pasture at 11 to 14 months of age, they weighed on average 1200 lb. They stayed on that native grass pasture til mid October and started to be stepped on to their TMR final ration mid November. Our sale bulls are developed as breeding stock and not a feedlot animal. Doing so, they will stand up as well as any bull could expect to in a large type pasture scenario, where a large percentage of ours end up. We encourage you to call ahead, come inspect the bulls prior, as we will assist you in selecting the right bull for your operation. Johnston Charolais reserves the right to draw semen on these bulls for in-herd use at our expense and your convenience. Johnston Charolais credits purchasers $150 per bull to customers taking their bull home from the sale barn. If you choose to pick up your own bull from the farm within 7 days of sale, we will write you a $100 cheque.

Kinetic’s sire, Full Patch is an ET grandson and double bred to the breed legend LHD Cigar. Brought up from DeBryucker’s in Montana to infuse their type as well as the highly regarded Cigar female influence on our herd.Kinetic’s dam, 244A was bred by Gord Nykolation, has proven her worth here,11 years old, problem free and visited Bow Valley last fall freezing Parker sired embryos. 244A raised Johnny Fever, the 2023 Prairie Distinction high seller and record breaker in that sale. A Parker son selling to C.K. Sparrow Farms for 30K. With lifetime earnings over 50K, I’ve gotta say thanks Gord for raising a great one!Very correct, this June born son of Full Patch impresses.
