“Transliterate” is an abstract solo exploring J.S. Bach’s Fuge in C minor from The Well-Tempered Clavichord through a choreological lens. It discovers how musical harmony can be translated into movement harmony. Featuring both music and dance created by myself I invite you to witness and explore this transliteration of movement and music and the dual language that emerges.

RED deals with the notion of spiritual transition and our primitive past. The piece explores spiritual rebirth through
dance as a ritualistic symbol by using organic rhythms, circular pathways and strong imagery. The notions of how past, present and future all coexist within each other are explored. The movement reminds us of the ancient pasts that are present within us all but becomes lost at times in the here and now. RED prompts us to think of how we can reconnect with our ancient being by using dance as a medium, encouraging us to meet ourselves again past, present and future.

My solo is about Honesty. Mentally and physically. I’ve tried my best to be as honest as I can to who I am, to share my solo with you this evening. Even I’m not sure who that is anymore.

You are here, Now is a dance film about the struggle of truly being in the present moment and how we can get lost or drawn into the cycle of a constantly thinking mind, the places we go when we want to find stillness and clarity and whether it’s possible to capture glimpses of ‘now’ and hold onto them. Can we live through each moment and take it in without thinking?

Remember When? delves into some of the shifts and ‘faults’ that occur within the formation and deconstruction of memories... It is a game. It is a bubble you struggle to permeate. It is a leech. It latches on and threatens to never let go. Despite the difficulties you may face you might as well try and enjoy yourself as life is such an ephemeral experience… Once it’s gone, it’s gone.

All the sinful actions that in movies are hidden behind narrow streets and in dark rooms are lived on stage by the two dancers. The verbs that inspired our movements are: manipulating, pushing, revelling, hiding, suffering, laughing, playing and seducing. The dancers’ emotions can be defined as “Marriage with nothing” mentioned from Sartre in his concept about existentialism which has been very helpful on the development of the idea.
