PE Express now in your neighbourhood TODAY marks the last edition of Express
Indaba. From next week Wednesday, Indaba readers will receive the Port Elizabeth Express, in the areas where Indaba used to be distributed. PE Express, the biggest free local newspaper in the Eastern Cape, will from September 7 grow to a whopping 120 000 copies. This follows exactly a year after the newspaper grew from 90 000 copies to 100 000 copies being distributed weekly. In order to achieve this growth, the Express Indaba, a sister publication of PE Express, which had been distributed in some of the city’s major townships, will be incorporated into the PE Express. The full version of the PE Express, including adverts and news, will now be distributed in the Express Indaba areas. The 20 000 newspapers distributed in these areas will, however, feature special pages to accommodate advertisers who advertised only in the Indaba and who would like to continue to do so. These pages will have local news to cater specifically for readers in these areas. According to Tasmia Ismail, general manager of EP Media and Die Burger, the change in strategy was partly due to the fact that many Indaba readers wanted the full PE Express and its advertising too. PE Express is a publication of EP Media which has a footprint throughout the Eastern Cape with 8 titles publishing 310 000 free copies on a weekly basis. . The PE Express will now be distributed to homes in KwaMagxaki, KwaZakhele, Kwaford and Motherwell. Owing to the huge number of homes in these areas, not all homes will receive a copy every week. For that reason bulk drops will be made at popular stores in the areas as well as public places. These include Walmer Pick n Pay, Walmer Spar, the Walmer Clinic (8th Avenue, Walmer), Daku Spar, New Brighton Spar, Metro Hardware, Motherwell Hardware, Build it, the Traffic department in Korsten, Motherwell Spar and the New Brighon Police Station. – REPORTER
Springbok Sevens player Juan De Jongh takes eMsengeni rugby players through their paces during the coaching session he and Springbok player Siya Kolisi, who is a former eMsengeni pupil, had with the young rugby hopefuls yesterday. PHOTO: NCEBA DLADLA
NCEBA DLADLA THE lives of 40 young rugby players of eMsengeni Primary School in Naka Street, Zwide Township, will not be the same after meeting their rugby hero, Siya Kolisi, yesterday. Kolisi, a Stormers and Springbok player, attended eMsengeni when his rugby talent was spotted. He was then sent to Grey Junior school where his rugby playing reached new heights. As the ambassador of Land Rover, Kolisi visited his alma mater yesterday with Sevens rugby player Juan De Jongh, SA Rugby referee Matthew Pearce and Supersport presenter Craig Joubert to interact with the pupils and talk about the importance of education and sport. Former teacher Eric Songwiqi, who helped
Siya to enrol at Grey when he was in Grade 6, also attended the event. The visitors took to the rugby field and coached the school’s under-13 and under-12 players, who were 20 apiece, with rugby rules, ball passing and all other intricacies of the game. “I am quite emotional as well as excited seeing these children play on the grounds where I actually carved my future in rugby,” said Kolisi, who thanked his sponsor Land Rover for affording him an opportunity to encourage young children from “home” to take sport and education seriously. “My wish has always been to see them getting better sporting facilities in township schools so that they produce the next generation of rugby players,” said Kolisi. Kolisi’s name is written on the rugby shirts of the two teams as he sponsored them.

“Every time I look at Dan Qeqe stadium I become worried. The stadium used to have green grass for the rugby fields, a tennis court and cricket grounds. Now, it is not the same. My dream is to revive this stadium,” said Kolisi. The young rugby players were excited to have Kolisi at their school. “I liked seeing Siya at our school. I want to thank him for what he has done for our school. I too would like to play rugby for the Springboks, like him,” said Bulela Minyayo (13), while Khayalethu Memani (12) hopes to emulate Kolisi by playing in the World Cup. Rugby coach and teacher Nomathamsanqa Magutywa believes that that dream is not farfetched. “Six of eMsengeni U/13 players went for the trials for the EP Team in Cradock last week. Memani was one of the six,” she said. . Turn to page 2 for more photos.

Mayoral committee is skewed says Mabuyane NCEBA DLADLA
ANC provincial secretary Lubabalo Mabuya-
ne has accused Nelson Mandela Bay mayor Athol Trollip and the DA of reversing the gains of the national democratic revolution since taking office. Mabuyane said the ANC was shocked by the composition of a team of 10 councillors in the mayoral committee, claiming that it was a skewed selection dominated by white males and with only one black female. “Trollip’s decision to make up a mayoral committee dominated by one race and gender undermines the important need to ensure
that women, black, Indian and coloured people who represent the majority of residents in the Nelson Mandela Bay metro, are appointed to leadership positions to drive transformation,” Mabuyane said. He added that the mayor’s “continuous fixation with dominating mayoral committee positions with white males showed the DA’s rejection of transformation and attested to its lack of interest in appointing equal numbers of black, white, Indian and coloured men and women to leadership positions in public institutions.” He said, “It appears they hold a view that black people in general, and black females in particular, are not capable of being in leader-
ship positions.” He added that with the “blatant disregard of transformation”, the ANC was worried that the DA would continue erasing transformation work that was led by ANC councillors in the metro and frustrate development programmes based on policies to transform the lives of the people in the metro. Mabuyane said the mayoral team appointed by Trollip, and Trollip, would fail to transform the metro and would continue white supremacy in it. He said, “We worry that transformative policies that we set up and were implementing, will not be a priority of the DA; will not form part of the programmes of Trollip and
his white-dominated males.” Kristoff Adelbert, chief of staff in the mayor’s office, denied the allegations. He said, “This government’s mayoral committee is comprised of a team of elected male and female councillors of all races who represent all the residents of this metro.” He said the DA’s offer to the people of Nelson Mandela Bay was that it would stop corruption, improve service delivery and grow the economy to create jobs. “This team of highly competent councillors has the relevant qualifications and skills to be able to deliver rapidly on this offer through their respective portfolios,” Adelbert said.

Police warn public against training and jobs scam NCEBA DLADLA THE police have warned the public to be aware of bogus website advertisements for SAPS training and vacancies. Brigadier Selvy Mohlala, who is responsible for SAPS communications, said the website used was http://www.jobfeed.co.za/police-de-
velopment-learning-programme/, using the SAPS logo. “We fear that members of the public anywhere in the country could fall victim to the scam,” Mohlala said. He said the SAPS has its own website and Facebook pages which it uses to communicate messages to the public. “We wish to state that advertisements for any
posts within its structures are, if and when they become available, placed in a range of newspapers in the country to reach as many potential and suitable candidates as possible,” he said. The public should also bear in mind that they could view existing vacancies and obtain the official application forms from the official website of the SAPS www.saps.gov.za. Only the information that is on this website
can be regarded as authentic. He said there were currently no posts for police trainees in the SAPS and that the advertisements formed part of a scam aimed at misleading the public. “Members of the public are urged and advised to be vigilant and not to be misled by any false advertisements or advertising scams and to report these activities to the police,” he said.

Welcome spring with a dip in the ocean REPORTER IT’S nearly time to dig out the swimming costumes which have been languishing in the far reaches of cupboards for the traditional early morning dip in the sea on September 1 to welcome spring. “The Spring Day dip was started by Algoa FM in 2014, and it has become an annual event due to the turnout,” said Algoa FM programme manager Baydu Adams. Beaches to head to on Spring
Day are Nahoon in East London and Hobie in Port Elizabeth. “With cold weather also being traditional for the Spring Day dip, warming coffee will be served on the beach from around a quarter to seven,” Adams added. First to dip their toes in the water in East London will be the afternoon drive presenter in East London, Gordon Graham. In Port Elizabeth it will be DMB presenter Charlton Tobias. They will take to the water at about 7:20am and the public is welcome to join in the fun.
VW celebrates 65 years of building people’s cars in SA REPORTER TODAY on August 31, 65 years ago the first South African-built Volkswagen rolled off the assembly line in Uitenhage. The Uitenhage manufacturing plant was founded in 1946 as South African Motor Assemblers and Distributors (SAMAD). At that time, the factory assembled at least 12 Studebakers a day. Today, the factory has grown to a daily capacity of 600 cars for local and international markets. In the past 65 years over 3.4 million vehicles have been built at the Uitenhage Factory. The factory has become an integral part of the Volkswagen production network. As such it has been award-
ed numerous export orders by the parent company. The current two top-selling passenger models, Polo and Polo Vivo are produced at the Volkswagen factory in Uitenhage. The World and more specifically South Africa have changed over the past 65 years. The political and economic landscape has changed dramatically and Volkswagen has grown from a small German company assembling the Beetle to the largest Automobile Company in the world. But the one thing that has remained constant is Volkswagen in the Eastern Cape. VWSA continues to invest in the economy with R4.5million being invested in 2015 alone. substantially to all facets of the local economy. VWSA is also the single largest investment in Sub-Saharan Africa by a German company. Not only does VWSA impact the economy but also the community in which it operates. Through the Community Trust, VWSA provides support and financial assistance to schools and projects in the Nelson Mandela Bay Metro. “Our company vision is to provide sustainable mobility for Africa with German engineering and a South African heart. At the centre of this company is and always will be the exceptional people who build and sell our vehicles. Without them we would not have made it to where we are today, 65 years later,” said Thomas Schaefer, Chairman and Managing Director, VW Group SA.

Imbasa shines in Provincial Science Olympiad SELBY MADIKANE IMBASA Primary School, which is based in Motherwell NU 12, made it through to the Nelson Mandela Bay regionals when they won the Department of Education Grade Science Olympiad Competition which was held at the Osner Hotel in East London recently. The school was represented by three learners, namely Iviwe Somnono, Liyema Zeeland and Mivo Mbizo. According to Imbasa Primary School Natural Sciences and Technology Teacher, Xolile Sydney Maqabangqa, the Science Olympiad Competition covered the entire Grade 6 syllabus. Some portions of the Grade 7 Syllabus were also covered. Maqabangqa said the aim of the Science Olympiad was to identify talent, to encourage excellence in science education and also to arouse interest in science. Maqabangqa said, “Science Olympiad seeks to inspire learners to consider their future careers in Science and Technology. It also does away with the notion that Science, Technology and Mathematics are dif-
ficult subjects. “It increases the number of learners to study Physical Science, Mathematics and Life Sciences at high school.” Maqabangqa stated that the questions were not difficult, but they were challenging. Imbasa Primary School became Port Elizabeth District winners after Iviwe Somnono became the top achiever, obtaining 68 percent, while Mbizo and Zeeland came in second and third respectively. Somnono received a district trophy and a certificate of participation with Mbizo and Zeeland also receiving a certificate of participation. Imbasa Primary School Headmaster Phopho Mayekiso thanked Maqabangqa and the learners for making the school and the district proud. Mayekiso said, ‘’Our school takes pride in Maqabangqa and the three pupils for what they have achieved for the school and the district. Children must not be deprived of opportunities. The staff of Imbasa Primary and the parents also played a phenomenal role to assist these learners. It was a wonderful experience for our learners.”

Northern Areas People Development Initiative offers second chance for drop-outs REPORTER ADULTS who have dropped out of high school, are being offered a second chance at obtaining their matric certificate and bettering their lives. The Second Chance Matric Project, which is offered by the Northern Areas People Development Initiative (NAPDI), offers adults that for various reasons could not complete matric an opportunity to complete this qualification. NAPDI is a Northern suburbs-based organisation which is involved in various community projects, ranging from improving education, to the promotion of better waste management through recycling. The NAPDI trustees are Isaac Metembo, Michael Barry, Paul Geswint and Dr Jeff Govender. NAPDI’s current projects include: The St Thomas Art Project to promote art education, Past Pupil Initiative to promote alumni involvement in school development, the Schauder Korsten Despatch Recycling project and the Second Chance Matric Project to help adult learners obtain a matric certifi-
cate. This project has been managed by Metembo since 2010. “This programme is carried by a group of experienced educators such as Eugene Snayer, Anthony Walton, Mervyn Human, Cedric Serfontein and a few others. Adult learners receive tuition Saturdays from 8am to 2pm at Hillside High School in a variety of subjects. These adults sit for the examination in June and July the following year,” Metembo said. Metembo indicated that registration to participate in the programme will only be open until the end of September. “In the recent past we accommodated people up to January but our records show that these late-comers do not last. They cry to be given an opportunity only to disappear after two weeks leaving the teachers frustrated and our organization having incurred more cost. “We are, however, very excited with our current learners who are returning to complete their last three subjects, as well as all the new registrations that are showing early promise. We call upon adults that need matric to improve their chances to find employment or promotion,” Metembo said.
Some of the adult learners have shown remarkable achievement since the inception of the programme. These include Hermia Stanley, Janine Simpson and Elaine Rockman. Stanley is one of three students at Napdi Second Chance matric programme who passed all six of their matric subjects in the first year of studying. She dropped out of school in 2004 in grade 10 and since then always had the desire to obtain her matric certificate. She is currently busy doing a bridging course in nursing - a career she always admired and wanted to follow. Marlon Koen is another success story. He dropped out of school in Grade 11 in 2004. He completed his matric at Napdi Second Chance in 2014 and is currently studying Law (LLB second year) full time at NMMU. Teacher Anthony Walton said that he volunteers at the Second Chance programme for the love of education and to help better the lives of others. “I believe that to live a meaningful life you have to add value to the lives of the people around you,” Walton said. For more info contact Isaac Metembo on 084 200 8852 or 073 703 9128.

MOTHERWELL’s Mboniselo Primary School hosted a Women’s Day Celebration at the NU2 Community Hall on Thursday last week. The school management and the governing body had invited mothers of pupils and women who had working relations with the school. “We wanted to honour women and heroines of the struggle who marched to Pretoria 60 years ago in a fight against carrying passes,” principal Thembalethu Hopa said. Hopa added that they were also aware of and were recognising the new struggles that women of today were fighting in the new dispensation. “Their struggles today revolve around growing and nurturing their children to be the best that they can be, to give them education so that they are well prepared for the future. This is amid the high rate of unemployment and pov-
erty many of our families, especially in Motherwell are facing,” Hopa said. Speakers came from government departments such as Education, Social Development, South African Social Security Services (SASSA), Health, and Home Affairs. They gave the mothers information on their services. “I spoke about the importance of mothers having and maintaining a loving relationship with their children, especially girls,” guest speaker Bongi Kleinbooi said. “They must be friends and communicate with them to ensure that they understand their likes and dislikes so that they are not taught new things in life by their friends.” Kleinbooi, a social worker from Rape Crisis, congratulated the school for organising such an event, which she believed would help parents and teachers develop a strong relationship of trust which was beneficial to all, and especially the children.

Ntethelelo releases new album NCEBA DLADLA
NEW gospel sensation Ntethelelo Mposwa of Lusikisiki was in Nelson Mandela Bay recently to promote his album Imvuselelo – The Revival. The second offering of Mposwa, widely referred to as Ntethelelo, follows his first album, Indumiso Volume 1, recorded in 2013. A glowing Ntethelelo (28) also introduced Port Elizabeth radio personality Lungi Menze as his manager. Menze is the presenter and producer of Inkqubela, “KQ” Community Radio’s religious programme. “My first album, Indumiso, which
means ‘Praise’, was a resounding success,” Ntethelelo said. “I must admit, however, that I did not do enough marketing of the album, although it did make it on to national and community radio and television. “This second album, recorded at Destiny Studios and produced by Siyabonga Hlekani, however, I believe is going to be the gospel lovers’ favourite,” he said. “It is like it’s God himself speaking to believers in the church to revive worshipping and be true to their Saviour. We don’t speak to any denomination but the broader church of God,” said Ntethelelo, who visited Umhlobo
Wenene FM, KQ FM, Kingfisher FM and local community television station BayTV after his arrival in the Bay. He also went to Baywest and Greenacres shopping centres to mingle and pose for pictures with gospel fans who bought copies of the CD that he autographed. His music is mostly traditional songs that preach and exhort believers to come back to God. His style of preaching over rythmic African beats in songs like Amen and Sekunjalo will speak to the lonely and downtrodden. “The album is available at all music stores, but fans should ask for it to be
ordered if they can’t find one at a shop,” Menze said. Ntethelelo said he was from a religious background and had been introduced to gospel music at a very early age. “I’ve been singing in church since I was very young and enjoy using my voice as an instrument of God’s praises,” he said.

There will also be local artists, such as the likes of Lilitha and others, performing. At this event, City of Champions will be taking another shot aimed at breaking a world record.
This time the legacy project is aiming at shattering the current largest macarena dance record, held by Plymouth in the United Kingdom. Through the show, a combination of Women’s Month, August, and the ushering in of September, which is Heritage/Spring Month, City of Champions will be recognising both local and national women artists. The concert will take the form of a family outing in a picnic setting, with people bringing their picnic baskets and camp chairs and children are welcome. Gates open at noon, with the show starting at 2pm and ending 7.30pm. The MCs will be the husband and wife team of Mio and Queenie Kondleka. “Again, we call upon people of Nelson Mandela Bay to come in their

numbers. This is a family outing – no one should be left at home. Bring your coolers and camp chairs. We want everyone to have fun, including those who will be sitting on the
grass enjoying the music,” said City of Champions president Mazizi Msutu. According to Msutu, this will be a typical picnic setting, aimed at promoting unity, diversity and social cohesion “as we remember the legacy of uTata Nelson Mandela. We also want to grow and develop arts and culture in the metro.” The event would also assist in empowering local traders and small businesses to market their wares and give them exposure. The current largest macarena dance was held in Plymouth in 2011 and involved 2 219 participants. The entire routine lasted five minutes, 36.3 seconds. “We want to beat this, and I know we can do it,” Msutu said. We intend to have at least 2 700 participants doing the routine at the
same time.” The 27 is synonymous with the number of years Madiba spent in prison. Tickets are going for R240 and VIP R550. Children enter free. Tickets can be bought at TicketPro. “Don’t be told about the event by others after it has finished. Be there, witness it and be part of the vibe,” Msutu said. Partnering with City of Champions in hosting the event are the Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality, Nelson Mandela Bay Tourism, Nelson Mandela Bay Development Agency, Event Hire Network, Inspiration Events, Algoa FM and TicketPro. City of Champions is a Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality legacy project aimed at promoting the ideals, aspirations and values of the icon Nelson Mandela.

Testimony for KING LWASA
SHAMSI’S SPECIAL PRAYER “CHANGED THEIR FINANCIAL & MARRIAGE LIVES”
My Names is Charniel Johanes from Western Cape. Firstly I want to thank KING LWASA for what he done for me in my life and for all success I have achieved because of him Financially. There are many doctors out there who claim they can change people’s life financially while they cannot do it and I’m saying this out of what I have been going through trying to change my life. Before I met the real one KING LWANGA, I lost a lot of money until last year 24th October when I read about KING LWANGA who helped a lot of people by using SHORT Boys to put money into their account in 2hrs and he only take 20% after the success of work. Am happy with my family and we got our own business running. He also got RATS to bring money in your house, MAGIC RING to win money games, Lost lover, Family Matters and Divorce all problems solved in same day
K Samantha was single, but found a new husband who married her within 2months after Shamsi had prayed for her.
2-weeks after attending Shamsi’s special prayer meeting in Vanderbiljpark, I Mr BM Jantjies successfully got my first job promotion at work. I had spent 5-years applying for a job promotion at work with out success.
Mr P Marvin and his wife bought this lovely Sasolburg house 3-months after attending Shamsi special prayer.
R. Krishna, 41
I meet this powerful Shamsi on a TV programme. Before I had suffered for years and I tried many people for help but all failed. I could not believe it when he showed me my enemies in form of a dream and whatever they were doing to me. Every single detail he showed met about my enemies was so true. Shamsi accurately read my fortune and told me all my problems without me speaking a single word to him. Within 6-days after his prayers, my husband left his girlfriend and came back to me plus my enemies approached me and confessed the bad things they did to me. Shamsi also gave me a special ring to fix my financial problems, and a love crystal that made people at home and at work to like me, listen to me and do for me whatever I wanted from them without asking me any questions. Even though others have failed to deliver to your expectations, this may be your last chance to break through no matter what problem you’re facing! R100: Consultation Fee. Like me, all clients I have been referring to him always got GUARANTEED RESULTS in few days. She also helps people with: • Financial Problems • Love Relationship • Work Crises • Family Problems • Bad Luck Health Problems • and many more...

SISTER RHONA BROUGHT MY LOVELY HUSBAND BACK
MAMA ZAIN 079 622 3080
To all people who have been suffering my name is JOHANNES from Paarl. I have been reading different newspapers and different testimonies from different healers until I read about Al-vin from Summerset West who has been struggling like me, but now I can say I stand proud today because of Mama Zain. I wish I knew her long time ago before I lost everything to the so called sangomas who can’t give results. I’m happy now be-cause I used Short boys to put money in my bank account in just 3 hrs. I was shocked to receive message from the bank and Mama Zain told me to go and start using the money and I did without any problem. I paid her 25% from the same money. She also has Magic Wallet for money. Magic Ring for gambling. Rats to bring u money. Mama Zain is here to help you. Be Rich or Get Your Money Bank Double and Be Happy
AFTER 15 YEARS OF SEPARATION As a single mother, I was so lonely and heart broken, I always felt like my life was about to come to an end and everything was just falling apart. I struggled to pay all my bills and at the same time take care of my kids. I then visited my local church for A few years into my marriage, counselling so that they could help fix my my lovely husband separated from me and left me with our marriage but things got worse as my 2 kids for a full 15 years husband moved on with a new girlfriend. Because I was so desperate, I tried getting help from spiritual healers but they took my money without helping me fix this problem. LUCKILY an old friend refered me to SISTER RHONA. She saved her sisters marriage from breaking up a few years back. I visited SISTER RHONA and paid R100 consultation fee and without telling her any of my problems, sshe acurately told me everything that I was going through. I was shocked then she performed a special prayer for me and also gave me a special ring to fix my financial problems, within 3 days my husband returned home and asked forgiveness & 2 weeks later I was promoted to manager at my work. Today I am happily married and all my debts have been paid off. There is no other way to thank SISTER RHONA but to tell everyone about her. I highly recommend her to anyone experiencing my marriage and financial problems, without SISTER RHONA’s special prayers, my life would’ve been miserable. * Financial problems * Love relationships * Work crisis * Family problems * Health problems and many more

The KwaNoxolo based-side’s Siphesihle Mengu beat the Stars’ goalkeeper, Sihle Cilana, in the early stages of the first half. THE Bay Tigers took Everton FC to the cleaners when they thrashed them 14-2 in their Zwide Football Association (ZWIFA) First Division game that was played at Gal City Grounds on Saturday. Playing in hot weather conditions, Everton FC players appeared to be tired while the Tigers players seemed to be comfortable. Tigers’ danger man Luvo Daweti came up with an opening goal after a solo run by Zukisa Mfundisi down the right flank. Everton defenders, who looked disjointed, failed on many occasions to stop Mfundisi, who tormented them. Mfundisi supplied a good cross to Xolani Mthi who banged in Tigers’ second goal, with no reply from Everton FC. Anele Ace Skosana scored Everton’s opening goal that improved their score to 2-1. Daweti beat Everton’s offside trap and he supplied a perfect pass to Mfundisi who registered his first goal, which increased their lead to 3-1. Skosana failed to beat Tigers’ goalkeeper Siphumeze Jojani in a one-on-one situation. Azola Sobuza scored the Tigers’ fourth goal. Tigers went to the break missing an abundance of scoring opportunities. It was clear that Tigers’ Head Coach Sticks Ntombana’s dressing-room talk paid off as his charges were spot-on in front of the goals. Everton’s goalkeeper Siphamandla Wambi had a busy second half as the Tigers players were on fire. Mxoleli Sodladla scored the Tigers’ fifth goal after he penetrated between the midfielders and defenders of Everton. Mfundisi banged in Tigers’ sixth goal. Sobuza also came up with his second goal that increased the score to 7-1. Daweti kicked a long

Skosana scored a goal that decreased Everton’s deficit to 9-2. Daweti who was a man of the match sent a salvo that increased Tigers’ lead to 10-2. Daweti who looked hungry scored Tigers’ 11th goal. Bucks win Four Community Teams Challenge DESPITE the hot weather conditions, children came in droves to watch their sides taking each other on in the Four Community Teams Challenge that was played at Shining Stars’ grounds on Saturday. The tournament was played by U/15 teams with the aim of keeping the youth off the streets. One of the tournament organisers, Sithembiso Grootboom, said the five clubs decided to host the tournament to keep the youth busy in sport. Grootboom said, “We do not want our children to be involved in criminal activities. I strongly feel that the child in sport is not interested in doing crime and is a healthy child. “These games give us an opportunity to be
able to identify young talent in our communities. By hosting games such as these, we are fighting crime. Lots of young people take drugs because they do not take part in sport.” The teams that were involved in the tournament were the Royal Bucks, Young Ideas, United FC and Tomorrow Stars. The tournament started off with games being played in a knockout system. In the tough semi-finals, fans saw Bucks overcoming United FC 2-0, while the Young Ideas showed that they had a lot of fight in them with a 2-1 victory over Stars. Gobodo and Madolo guide Sophakama Ladies to victory
Ideas devastate FC M’well
Stars gave a good account of themselves, but the Sophakama Ladies were prepared to wage war on the home side. Both sides had many glorious opportunities, but their strikers were alert in front of the goals. The battle was staged in the middle of the field. Both goalkeepers were not taken to task in the goalless first half. In the second half, the pace of the game was fast. The visitors broke the ice after Xabisa Gobodo beat two defenders and she fired a hot shot past the Stars goalkeeper, Alison Ackley. The home side came back strongly and were rewarded with an equalising goal that was scored by Nicole Brooks. Sophakama duo Gobodo and Mashumi read each other like open books and played good moves with Asanda Madolo scoring their winning goal. City Lads maintained their winning ways after they demolished Mustangs Ladies 3-0 at New Brighton Oval Stadium. Manchester Babes restored their dignity

SELBY MADIKANE THE Young Ideas FC devastated FC Motherwell 2-0 in their Motherwell Football Association (MOFA) Build It First Division game that was played at Motherwell NU 9 Stadium on Sunday afternoon. The Young Ideas gained control of the game right from the word go with Motherwell left to chase their shadows. The game was characterised by rough play but the match officials controlled the game fairly. In the first half neither side created clear cut chances but their strikers, especially those of Young Ideas, could kick themselves after the Motherwell goalkeeper was far away from his goal line just on the stroke of halftime. In the second half, Young Ideas came back on to the field with high levels of confidence.
Young Ideas came close to scoring their opening goal but Thembelani Ngqolani’s long range free kick shaved the cross bar. Ideas patiently built good moves with Ngqolani being fouled by one of Motherwell’s defenders in their own territory. Ngqolani then scored a long range volley that found the back of the net. Young Ideas took many bodies up front so that they could extend their lead to 2-0. Consequently, the Young Ideas were awarded a penalty which was scored by Lungile Dlanga in the 87th minute. The game ended with a score of 2-0 in favour of Young Ideas. Ideas’ Head Coach Loyiso Lloyd Jack said his side showed character. Jack explained, “My boys knew how FC Motherwell plays. We decided not to give them space to breathe. I am happy with the way things have gone for my side.”
