The Springbok rugby team has been in Port Elizabeth for more than a week and the excitement around their presence in the Friendly City is tangible. The Bokke will face the team from Argenti na in the Castle Lager Rugby Championship that will be staged at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium this Saturday, August 19. The Bokke have been busy during their first week’s stay in PE. They attended the #SA2023 Rugby World Cup Bid flag hoisting event at the Donkin Reserve and completed a colourful #LoveRugby mural on one side of the King’s Beach lifesaving club as part of SA Rugby’s ongoing #LoveRugby initiative. This morning they will be visiting the Ithembelihle High School for a #LoveRugby School activation. The last chance to see the Bokke in action before the test match will be today from 3pm at the SA Rugby coaching clinic at the stadium. The team will be announced tomorrow at 2pm. Here Damian de Allende hands out signatures during a signing session at the stadium on Monday. PHOTO: CHARLES PULLEN
