SERMON OUTLINE G O D ’ S G R E AT E S T D E S I R E Psalm 90:1-4, 12-17
Daily Dwell: January 5-12 “Lord, you have been our dwelling place throughout all generations.” (v.1)
God’s search for a home? “Where is the house you will build for me? Where will my resting place be?” (Isaiah 66:1) “This is none other than the house of God.” (Genesis 28:17) “Don’t you know that you yourselves are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit dwells in your midst?” (1 Corinthians 3:16) “And in him you too are being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by his Spirit.” (Ephesians 2:22) “Look! God’s dwelling place is now among the people, and he will dwell with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God.” (Revelation 21:3)
Why the Psalms? “Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts.” (Colossians 3:16)
What happens when you dwell? “Remain (Abide) in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me.” (John 15:4)
How do you begin? The Daily Dwell “Teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom. Relent, LORD! How long will it be? Have compassion on your servants. Satisfy us in the morning with your unfailing love, that we may sing for joy and be glad all our days. Make us glad for as many days as you have afflicted us, for as many years as we have seen trouble. May your deeds be shown to your servants, your splendor to their children. May the favor of the Lord our God rest on us; establish the work of our hands for us—yes, establish the work of our hands. (Psalm 90:12-17)
“And we are his house, if indeed we hold firmly to our confidence and the hope in which we glory.” (Hebrews 3:6)

Join us in the Williams Center to visit with Belong Community and Belong Group leaders to learn how to get connected at Peachtree! We offer two different ways for our congregations to belong. Belong Communities are open, on-campus groups that are large in size and welcome all (i.e. Sunday Morning Communities, Women’s and Men’s Ministry, Young Adults, etc.). Belong Groups are small groups that make a commitment to meet for one year and use churchsponsored content. Belong Groups choose their own meeting cadence and meet off campus.
