Parents: Lauren and Thomas Darden

Sibling: Annie (3)

Grandparents: Ramona and David Darden; Teresa Darden; the late Luanne and Denny McClelland

COLOSSIANS 3:12-15

Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity. Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful.

WILLIAM LAWRENCE UPCHURCH, JR.

ISAIAH 48:28-31

Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom. He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.

Parents: Laura and Alec Denton

Grandparents: Becky and Charlie Denton; the late Ivy and Joe Anthony

PROVERBS 2:1-5

My son, if you accept my words and store up my commands within you, turning your ear to wisdom and applying your heart to understanding—indeed, if you call out for insight and cry aloud for understanding, and if you look for it as for silver and search for it as for hidden treasure, then you will understand the fear of the LORD and find the knowledge of God.

2 CORINTHIANS 9:1-15: THE INDESCRIBABLE GIFT

“There is no explanation for you.”

“… because of the surpassing grace God has given you. Thanks be to God for his indescribable gift!” // Corinthians 9:14b-15

How to train in grace. Give and serve …

□ Readily (not empty) – v. 3

“But I am sending the brothers in order that our boasting about you in this matter should not prove hollow, but that you may be ready, as I said you would be.”

□ Generously (not scarcity) – v. 6, 8

“Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously….And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.”

□ Cheerfully (not begrudgingly) – v. 5b, 7

“Then it will be ready as a generous gift, not as one grudgingly given….Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.”

□ Thankfully (not just practically) – v. 12

“This service that you perform is not only supplying the needs of the Lord’s people but is also overflowing in many expressions of thanks to God.”

Sunday, December 8 6:30pm

Peachtree Church is excited to present Grammynominated artists and hymn writers Keith and Kristyn Getty. Sanctuary seating is sold out. Limited seating for the livestreaming of the concert is available in our Fellowship Hall.

In October, we will focus on the spiritual practices of Service and Generosity as part of our Overflow initiative. During the month, we encourage our congregation to volunteer with one of our local partners.

Scan the QR code or visit PeachtreeChurch.com/OctServe for a list of serving opportunities and registration links.

MILESTONES

Just as families keep in touch about joys and sorrows, our church family at Peachtree wants to do the same. During your prayers this week, we ask you to lift up these people to God.
