The Spirit King

Isaiah 61

I delight greatly in the Lord; my soul rejoices in my God…

Isaiah 61:10

“Joy is the most infallible sign of the presence of God.”

Pierre Teilhard de Chardin

JOYFUL SIGNS OF GOD’S PRESENCE

1. Others are lifted up.

“The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me, because the Lord has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners,” Isaiah 61:1

2. Praise is given.

“to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair.” Isaiah 61:3

3. Inheritance is secure.

“Instead of your shame you will receive a double portion, and instead of disgrace you will rejoice in your inheritance. And so you will inherit a double portion in your land, and everlasting joy will be yours. Isaiah 61:7

“An inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade. This inheritance is kept in heaven for you.” 1 Peter 1:4

“Good things as well as bad, you know, are caught by a kind of infection. If you want to get warm you must stand near the fire; if you want to be wet, you must get into the water. If you want joy, power, peace, eternal life, you must get close to, or even into, the thing that has them. They are not a sort of prize which God could, if He chose, just hand out to anyone. They are a great foundation of energy and beauty spurting up at the very center of reality. If you are close to it, the spray will wet you; if you are not, you will remain dry.” CS Lewis

END OF YEAR GIVING

The end of the year is an incredibly important time at Peachtree Church. 25% of our annual giving is received during the month of December through your generous gifts.

We ask that you help us to finish strong this year by making a gift through the offering today or online at or by scanning the QR code below.

December 22 | Today at 5pm

December 23 | 7pm

December 24 | 1pm | 3pm | 5pm | 7pm

The majesty of the Advent season is captured in music, message, and the beauty of sharing the light of Christ with candles, as we are led by our choir and orchestra and sing our favorite Christmas hymns.

Nursery is available for children up to three years of age during our 5pm service on December 22, as well as, our 1pm, 3pm and 5pm services on December 24.

YOUNG FAMILIES SERVICE

December 24 | 10am

Join us for this interactive service for families of toddlers and young preschoolers. This delightful telling of Christmas will capture hearts of children and parents alike. Sing your favorite carols and experience God’s story in a fresh way. Live animals will be on the Peachtree Green Space before and after the service.

Nursery is available for children up to three years of age for this service.

Registration is required for in-person services and is now open:

We will be livestreaming our 5pm service on December 24 at

PEACHTREE EXPRESS

On December 24, the shuttle will run for all of our afternoon and evening services.

It will pick up congregants at Powers Ferry Square and drop them off in front of Family Commons. After the service, the shuttle will take them back to Powers Ferry Square.

The shuttle will run from 12:30-8:30pm.

On Sunday, December 29, we will have one in-person worship service at 9:45am. There will be no programming for children or students but nursery will be available.

We hope you can join us in-person, but if not, join us online:

BELONG DAY

Join us in the Williams Center to visit with Belong Community and Belong Group leaders to learn how to get connected at Peachtree! We offer two different ways for our congregations to belong.

Belong Communities are open, on-campus groups that are large in size and welcome all (i.e. Sunday Morning Communities, Women’s and Men’s Ministry, Young Adults, etc.).

Belong Groups are small groups that make a commitment to meet for one year and use churchsponsored content. Belong Groups choose their own meeting cadence and meet off campus.

JANUARY 12, 2025 For

Family Ministry Grand Opening

Sunday, January 26

Join us Sunday morning for the grand opening of Family Commons, Children’s Ministry Spaces, and The Lodge. Special treats will be provided.

In the evening, we will have an open house for Family Ministry Spaces, a family serving opportunity with Seeds of Hope, food trucks, and programming for students.

Connections Central

If you’d like to meet with a member of our team to learn more about how to get plugged in at Peachtree, we invite you to stop by Connections Central in the Library adjacent to Steeple Coffee on Sunday mornings.

Just as families keep in touch about joys and sorrows, our church family at Peachtree wants to do the same. During your prayers this week, we ask you to lift up these people to God.
