AM/PM Program strives to offer a well-rounded program in a safe and secure environment located in the elementary schools within the City of Peoria. All sites are licensed by the Department of Health Services (DHS). Department of Economic Security (DES) funding is available for those that qualify, call (602) 771-0014. Registration Information Children are not registered to attend the program until you receive a confirmation from billing staff that your registration has been completed. STEP 1: Go to www.peoriaaz.gov/AMPM to complete registration paperwork. Choose your school site and submit your registration. Have a digital and readable copy of your child’s immunization record handy to be submitted at this time. STEP 2: After registration, log into your secured recreation account and add your financial information under the Primary Contact, not the child’s name. Check DEFAULT to make this the preferred payment method. This step is REQUIRED and must be completed within one business day after submitting the registration. STEP 3: You will receive a registration confirmation from the Billing Department when your registration has been processed. Your first charge will be on the Monday of your first week of selected attendance and every Monday thereafter. Office hours are Mon. - Thur. 7 a.m. - 6 p.m., closed on Fridays. All weekly fees will be charged automatically. Financial information is REQUIRED (checking account or credit card) at the time of registration.

DES REGISTRATION INFORMATION DES registrations cannot be completed until authorization is received by the AM/PM billing department. Please contact your DES account representative to avoid a delayed start date. School Break Care Camps Break Camp will be provided during the following school breaks. Columbus Day Break - Oct. 11; Nov. Break - Nov. 22-24; Winter Break - Dec. 17, 20-23, 27-30 (Closed on observed holidays; Dec. 24 and 31); Spring Break - March 15-19; April Break - April 23 Fee $27 per day, per child When 6 a.m. - 6 p.m. Visit www.peoriaaz.gov/breakcamps for locations and information.

There will be a processing period before a participant can start attending the program. Children participate in a variety of activities and expand education, social and developmental skills in a supervised and secure environment. The goal is the total well-being of each child. Practices & Games

The City of Peoria Youth Sports offers a variety of league offerings throughout the year. All of our leagues are non-competitive recreational leagues that promote inclusion, teamwork and FUN! Game scores are not retained and league standings are not kept. The emphasis of our leagues is to learn the basics of a sport and grow a life-long love of athletics while learning life skills such as teamwork and sportsmanship. Volunteer Coaches

DES/DDD FUNDED PROGRAMS The City of Peoria Adaptive Recreation Program is a contracted provider for the Department of Economic Security, Division of Developmental Disabilities. Call Jodi, Paula or Luke at (623) 773-7436 to find out if you qualify for services. After School Recreation Program provides age appropriate activities for students age 12-17. Program days follow the Peoria Unified School District calendar and is held at Raymond S. Kellis High School, 8990 W. Orangewood. Registration for the 2021-22 school year will be accepted after July 1. After School Recreation Program 18+ provides age appropriate activities for students ages 18-22. Program follows the Peoria Unified School District calendar and is held at the Peoria Community Center, 8335 W. Jefferson. Registration for the 2021-22 school year will be accepted after July 1. Active Adult Programs Adults 50+ are encouraged to take part in activities offered at the Peoria Community Center. There is no membership fee and open to residents and non-residents.

Lunch & Transportation The Senior Nutrition Program invites adults 60+ for lunch at 11:30 a.m., Mon. - Fri. A $3 donation and 24 hour notice is requested. Menus available at Community Center. To register for meals or discuss transportation, call the Nutrition Office at (623) 979-3570.

Ice Skating - Teen/Adults AZ Ice and the city of Peoria have partnered to offer fun, recreational ice-skating classes. AZ Ice follows the nationwide Learn to Skate-USA program to provide the entry level curriculum in a fun and positive atmosphere. Skaters learn the proper technique to perform basic skating. This class is an exciting introduction to ballet, tap creative movement and tumbling basics. The focus is on having fun and giving your child a positive introduction to dance. Students perform in a public recital at the end of the session. Tap shoes are required. Steppin Out - Fairytale Ballet & Recital

Tiny Dragons - I Won’t Go Abduction Prevention

Storybook characters, music, and props make this introduction to ballet and jazz dance magical! Pink leather ballet shoes, leotards and skirts (any color) are recommended, so little dancers can get into the spirit of our storybook dancing stars. Child abductions are a scary occurrence in today’s world. Retired police officer and martial arts professional, Dennis Wooten, will teach young children (and parents) how to spot and avoid danger; environmental awareness; and what to do if accosted by a stranger. Parents will also learn how to reinforce concepts and skills during practice at home.

Block Party Trailer

An active neighborhood is a happy one! Block parties are a great way to meet your neighbors and build relationships with those in your community. Coming this October, the Block Party Trailer will become available for residents to reserve, for FREE! The trailer is loaded with everything you need to host a great party, including tables, chairs, a sound system, giant yard games and more. To reserve the trailer for your next block party, visit peoriaaz.gov/engage. Proof of residency is required for all reservations.

Neighborhood Grants

This grant was created to promote community engagement among neighbors in traditional (non-HOA) neighborhoods. Through the grant, residents are able to apply for funds that will go towards their neighborhood for enhancements and activities. Previous grants have gone towards entry way enhancements, dog waste stations, mail box refreshes and more. Residents interested in becoming a neighborhood liaison/leader are strongly encouraged to apply.
