AM/PM Program strives to offer a well-rounded program in a safe and secure environment located in the elementary schools within the City of Peoria. All sites are licensed by the Department of Health Services (DHS). Department of Economic Security (DES) funding is available for those that qualify, call (602) 771-0014. Registration Information
Children are not registered to attend the program until you receive a confirmation from billing staff that your registration has been completed. STEP 1: Go to www.peoriaaz.gov/AMPM to complete registration paperwork. Choose your school site and submit your registration. Have a digital and readable copy of your child’s immunization record handy to be submitted at this time. STEP 2: After registration, log into your secured recreation account and add your financial information under the Primary Contact, not the child’s name. Check DEFAULT to make this the preferred payment method. This step is REQUIRED and must be completed within one business day after submitting the registration. STEP 3: You will receive a registration confirmation from the Billing Department when your registration has been processed. Your first charge will be on the Monday of your first week of selected attendance and every Monday thereafter. Office hours are Mon. - Thur. 7 a.m. - 6 p.m., closed on Fridays. All weekly fees will be charged automatically. Financial information is REQUIRED (checking account or credit card) at the time of registration.

DES registrations cannot be completed until authorization is received by the AM/PM billing department. Please contact your DES account representative to avoid a delayed start date. 2022-2023 AMPM Registration opens Sat., May 1 Children participate in a variety of activities and expand education, social and developmental skills in a supervised and secure environment. Summer Camp Program Summer Camp is an extension of the AM/PM Program with enrichment programming and activities to keep the children busy all day in a safe and secure environment. Summer Camp is licensed by the Department of Health Services (DHS). Funding is offered through Department of Economic Security (DES). Call DES at (602) 771-0014 for information. Registration Process
Registrations must be received by the Wednesday prior to the week of attendance. All weekly fees will be charged automatically. Financial information is REQUIRED (checking account or credit card) at the time of registration. Children may not attend the program without the below information completed and submitted. STEP 1: Go to www.peoriaaz.gov/summercamp and click on the link to your desired camp site. Have your financial information and a digital copy of your child’s immunization record available. STEP 2: STEP 2: Log into your secured recreation account and add your financial information. Follow the instructions listed on the website. Add your finance information under the primary contact/parent’s name NOT the child’s name. The finance information you list on your registration must match the finance information you list under your name. Be sure to check the DEFAULT box stating the finance information you entered is your preferred payment method. Finance information is REQUIRED and must be completed within 24 hours after submitting your registration. Failure to add financial information will result in the removal from the program. If you do not already have a recreation account one will be created for you with a temporary password. E-mails will come from communications@perfectmind.com. STEP 3: You will receive an email confirmation from staff when your registration has been processed. The $30 registration fee and $27 for Fri., May 20 (if chosen) per child will be charged when your registration is received. Your first week of attendance will be charged on that Mon. off the first week you select and every Mon. thereafter. Office hours are Mon.-Thur. 7 a.m. - 6 p.m., closed on Fri. Pool Rentals/Parties
The pools are available to be rented throughout the spring and summer months. Pools can host up to 400 people for private parties. Fees are based per hour, with a minimum of a 2 hour rental. Party Corner at Sunrise Pool
The Party Corner reservation is good for 30 individuals and the specified time slot during open swim hours. The area reserved is in the grass behind the south bleachers. We will provide 2 canopies, 3 tables and 30 chairs. No access to the playground. Registration for booking the Party Corner opens on March 12 at 6 a.m. Additional patrons must pay entry fees to the facility. Fee $95 Saturday

Get active! This 60-minute class is geared for those wanting an aerobic workout in the water. Class will be held in shallow and deep water. Participants must be comfortable in deep water as well as shallow water and water belts will be provided. The low impact environment of the water is perfect for any fitness goals. The City of Peoria offers 4 recreational swim teams; Sunrise Red Sharks, Sunrise Green Sharks, Centennial Stingrays, Peoria Piranhas and 3 recreational dive teams; Sunrise Red Marlins, Sunrise Green Gators, Peoria Blue Dolphins Practices are held Mon. - Thur. from May 23 - July 14, with swim/dive meets once a week. The Peoria Community Center is hosting the Kids’ Café Afternoon Snack/Supper Program through St. Mary’s Food Bank Alliance. Any youth/teen 18 and younger can receive a meal FREE OF CHARGE. Meals are available for pick-up or dine-in Monday Friday at 4 p.m. and Saturdays at 11:30 a.m. during the school year.
Summer
Peoria Unified School District and the Summer Food Service Program provide an afternoon snack and hot dinner program during the summer months. Dinner is served at the Peoria Community Center from 5 - 6 p.m., Monday - Thursday, a cold meal is available for pick-up on Fridays from 4 - 5 p.m. This program is free to any youth/teen 0 to 18, $3.75 for all others. The meals can be dine-in or to go.
Ongoing Programs
The HART Pantry The HART (Helping at Risk Teens) Pantry provides weekend non-perishable food bags for teens 13 - 19 that are experiencing food insecurity. Teen bags are available every Thursday at the Peoria Community Center 8 a.m. - 9 p.m. Any teen in need is welcome to come by and pick up a bag. St. Mary’s Food Bank Alliance St. Mary’s Food Bank Alliance distributes food/produce at the Peoria Community Center every Thursday from 7 - 8 a.m. This program is FREE and open to anyone/family in need.

The Community Engagement program is looking for volunteers to take pride in Peoria by helping in the community. We have various volunteer opportunities for individuals or large groups to help with community projects throughout the year. Neighborhood Grants
This grant promotes community engagement among neighbors in traditional (non-HOA) neighborhoods. Residents are able to apply for funds that will go towards their neighborhood for enhancements and activities. Previous grants have gone towards entry way enhancements, dog waste stations, mail box refreshes and more. Residents interested in becoming a neighborhood liaison/leader are strongly encouraged to apply.

Adaptive Recreation Programs SPECIAL OLYMPICS

This internationally recognized sports program is open to cognitively disabled individuals 8 years and older. Athletes must have a current physical on file with the Adaptive Recreation staff in order to be registered for Special Olympics competition and training. Registration begins for all Special Olympics sports for the entire year on July 1.

DES/DDD FUNDED PROGRAMS
The City of Peoria Adaptive Recreation Program contracts with the Department of Economic Security, Division of Developmental Disabilities, to offer a variety of Day Treatment and Training Services. The primary goal of all DES/DDD contracted programs is to enhance social and independent living skills through various recreational opportunities and through community outings and service projects. All programs are staffed on a 1:4 staff-to-participant ratio, so a moderate-to-high level of independence is required.
After School Recreation Programs provides age appropriate activities for students 12-17 and 18-21 years of age. Program days follow the Peoria Unified School District calendar. Adult Day Recreation Program is designed to provide unique and challenging activities in a small group setting. To inquire about openings at our two sites, contact Jodi at (623) 773-7719.
Elementary Summer Recreation Program is an 8-week program for individuals 6-12 years of age. This program runs from 8 a.m. - 1 p.m. five days a week as an integrated program in conjunction with the City of Peoria’s Summer Recreation Program. This program uses DTS hours. This program will meet at Sky View Elementary. High School Summer Program is an 8-week program for individuals 13-17 and 18-21 years of age. This program runs from 8 a.m. - 1 p.m. five days a week as a self-contained program and uses DTS hours. This program will meet at Raymond S. Kellis High School, Vistancia Elementary and the Peoria Community Center. These programs are first come first served so call (623) 773-7436 and ask for Jodi or Luke to request an application. Millennium Martial Arts Chuck Norris System
This is an introductory class geared to acquaint students with the Chuck Norris system martial arts. Students will learn practical skills that also build self confidence, self-control, discipline, coordination, and respect. Red Dragons - “I Won’t Go!” (Abduction Prevention)

Child abductions are a scary and increasing occurrence in our world today. Retired police officer and martial arts professional from Red Dragons Studio, Dennis Wooten, will teach children how to spot and avoid danger; environmental awareness; abduction prevention; and what to do if accosted by a stranger. Children will learn Kenpo techniques and how to apply them during reality-based scenarios. Parents will also participate so you can reinforce skills through practice at home. Join Young Rembrandts as we travel back in time to the Middle Ages for our Castle Workshop. Princesses, knights, castles, and even dragons highlight the spectacular drawings our students will produce. Go on a Safari adventure with Young Rembrandts this summer! We will explore the exciting land and many of the animals that inhabit Africa. We will draw a variety of animals in various scenes. To keep things exciting, we will explore the African Safari through the fun technique of cartoon as well. We will even challenge our artistic talents by creating 2 scenes – one in a graphic style filled with a variety of animals and another focusing design on the twists and turns of an African snake.
