a princesa, que vivía cerca del territorio donde hoy encontramos la laguna, se había enamorado, sin embargo, este amor era secreto. Por esta razón, buscaba lugares en los que pudiera llorar su desgracia. Y cada vez que se encontraba libre, cavaba un hoyo para poder hundir el nombre de su amado.

Esto es un reto para los productores que deben proteger la uva para no poner en riesgo la concentración de azúcar al momento de vendimiar, y así, lograr un vino expresivo. Ica se ubica a unos 60 kilómetros del mar, lo que otorga cierta brisa fresca y genera diversos micro climas con suelos aluviales (del arrastre de tierra y piedras de la montaña).

Santiago Queirolo

Originarios de Génova, Italia, actualmente la tercera y cuarta generación están a cargo de la bodega más grande de la zona (400 hectáreas de viñedos entre Cañete e Ica). Cuentan con una planta de producción con capacidad para 4 millones de litros, algo que no imaginaron por allá en el 1800 cuando llegaron al Distrito de Pueblo Libre y fundaron la Taberna Queirolo. Los hermanos Santiago, Paco y Jorge Queirolo – a cargo del viñedo – dirigen la bodega junto a sus hijos. Cuentan además con Viñas de Queirolo, hotel temático ideal para relajarse entre viñedos, tomar sol en la piscina o montar bicicleta al atardecer.

Originally from Genoa, Italy, currently the third and fourth generation are in charge of the largest winery in the area (400 hectares of vineyards between Cañete and Ica). La familia Olaechea es testigo de la historia Iqueña. Pedro Olaechea, quien dirige la bodega junto a su hermano José Antonio, cuenta que su bisabuelo compró la propiedad en 1889, pero es su padre quien se enfoca en desarrollar la producción de vino. En Tacama siempre han sido cercanos al estilo francés. Su enólogo Fréderic Thibaut y su asesor, el profesor Pierre Louis Teissedre de Bordeaux, siguen de cerca el desarrollo de los vinos. Hoy, Tacama es una alternativa turística para pasar el día en el viñedo, conocer el proceso, y almorzar en el tambo con platos típicos de la zona como ensalada de pallares o pie de pecanas.

La fiesta de la vendimia Se celebra todos los años en el mes de marzo – del 1 al 10 este año – e incluye diversas actividades como experiencia de cosecha y pisa de uva, concursos de música criolla, peleas de gallos, desfiles alegóricos, y la elección de la reina de la vendimia; así como la tradicional yunza (actividad que consiste en bailar alrededor de un árbol e ir cortándolo hasta tumbarlo).

La Tinya, también conocida como wankara o wankar, es un instrumento musical de percusión muy parecido al tambor. Puede encontrarse en Ecuador, Perú, Bolivia, Argentina y Chile. Está hecha de cueros crudos muy finos, lo que le otorga un sonido vibrante y agudo.

La Tinya, also known as wankara or wankar, is a percussion musical instrument very similar to the drum. It can be found in Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, Argentina and Chile. It is made of very fine raw hides, which gives it a vibrant and sharp sound.

Su origen es místico, era utilizada exclusivamente en rituales espirituales que tenían lugar en la zona de los Andes. Se dice que este pequeño tambor marcó el pasó de batalla entre los Chancas y los Pokras.

o primero que debes saber es que el bar hopping o bar crawl, empezó en Europa, su objetivo es conocer distintos lugares y que no llegues al lugar de siempre a beber y comer lo mismo.

Nuestro punto de partida es el parque Kennedy en Miraflores, a sus alrededores encontrarás decenas de opciones para escoger. Sin embargo, hay tres paradas obligatorias para todo aquel amante de la buena cerveza, sus variedades y los piqueos.

La segunda parada es Curaka Bar y para dirigirnos ahí cruzamos por el parque Kennedy. Caminar en medio de la gente con tus amigos al lado buscando más diversión es una experiencia que no tiene comparación.

Llegamos a la calle Francisco de Paula Camino donde se ubica Curaka Bar, se siente un ambiente relajado y casual al ingresar. Aquí los códigos de vestimenta no existen, tienes mesas para comer y lo único que importa es el sabor de la cerveza y la buena comida.

En Perú, la Danza de Tijeras, es una danza indígena vinculada a la región Chanca, cuyos orígenes se remontan al arte precolombino; representando la conexión entre el hombre andino y los wamanis (Dioses incaicos). Para poder practicarla, era necesario que los aprendices cuenten con un Maestro Danzante, usualmente por ascendencia familiar, pero en caso de no contar con uno, debían ser adoptados por dichos maestros, quienes les enseñaban desde pequeños a ejecutarla a la perfección.

Otrora casi extinta por la caza desmedida en los años 50s y 60s, hoy es una especie protegida por ley. Gracias a la creación de áreas naturales protegidas y al manejo adecuado con las comunidades campesinas se ha logrado incrementar su población a mas de 200 mil individuos en todo el Perú. Si bien es una especie silvestre, el éxito de su plan de conservación se inicia con un convenio realizado entre el Estado y la comunidad campesina de Lucanas expandiéndose luego a otras zonas del país, garantizando el cuidado y manejo sostenible de la especie vía el “Chaccu”, técnica prehispánica donde participan y se benefician las comunidades campesinas gracias a la captura y esquilado tradicional de las vicuñas siendo luego liberadas con mucho cuidado, sin poner en peligro la integridad de los animales. Si bien compartimos la distribución de la especie con países andinos como Bolivia, Chile y Argentina, es el Perú el primer productor de fibra de vicuña reglamentada en el mundo. Las vicuñas viven en grupos familiares liderados por un macho muy territorial y hasta cuatro hembras con crías y grupos de machos solteros y juveniles. Pueden correr hasta 50 km por hora y logran dar saltos de hasta 2 metros de altura. Son mamíferos herbívoros alimentándose principalmente de ichu y gramíneas. Las hembras paren una cría después de once meses de gestación, quedando nuevamente preñadas poco después del parto. Amamantan a una cría y gestan a otra prácticamente al mismo tiempo. Actualmente esta catalogada como especie de “Preocupación menor” pero dependiente de la conservación.

A finales de la década del los 60s la vicuña fue declarada en grave peligro de extinción dentro de la lista roja de especies en peligro a nivel mundial por la Unión Internacional para la Conservación de la Naturaleza (UICN). Hoy gracias al trabajo de conservación conjunta entre Estado y comunidades alto andinas de ha logrado incrementar, estimando a mas de 200mil individuos en todo el Perú, siendo hoy considerada en la categoría de “Preocupación menor” pero dependiente de la conservación.

El cañón del Shucto o Shujto está ubicado en el distrito de Canchayllo en la provincia de Jauja, Junín. Podemos partir desde Jauja al distrito de Canchayllo por la carreta central con dirección a Lima, tomar el desvío en Pachacayo y así llegar a nuestro destino, aproximadamente 45 minutos después. Si vienes desde Lima, de igual forma, antes de llegar a Jauja se encuentra el desvío a Pachacayo. Es recomendable ir en movilidad propia o contratar un taxi en Jauja, pues no hay carros que lleven directamente al cañón.

The Shucto or Shujto canyon is located in the district of Canchayllo in the province of Jauja, Junin. We can depart from Jauja to the district of Canchayllo by the carretera central (Central Highway) in the direction of Lima, take the detour in Pachacayo and thus arrive at our destination, approximately 45 minutes later. If you come from Lima, in the same way, before reaching Jauja you will find the detour to Pachacayo. It is advisable to go on your own mobility or hire a taxi in Jauja, as there are no cars that take you directly to the canyon.

El cañón del Shucto es uno de esos lugares mágicos que parecen solo existir en las películas de fantasía. Podrás contemplar todo el paisaje desde lo más alto, estar al filo del abismo, sentir aire limpio y sobre todo: paz.

Trekking

A casi 20 minutos de Canchayllo se pueden observar 2 formaciones rocosas inmensas a los lados, y, por el medio, una pequeña trocha acompañada de un río pequeño. Podrás sentir un gran asombro al ver tan inmensa formación de 70 metros de altura en forma perpendicular desde abajo e imagina verlo desde arriba. Para ello, debes hacer un pequeño trekking de casi 20 minutos para llegar a la parte alta del cañón, con mucho cuidado ya que el viento sopla con mucha fuerza en la parte alta.
