Saving Animals From Euthanasia Team
We are gorgeous Ragdolls who desperately need a new beginning in loving forever homes. We were rescued from a breeding mill where we led very challenging lives. But now, after living in small cages, suffering from medical issues, as well as mental distress & physical abuse, we are finally free and in search of our very own forever homes. Each of us come with our own special needs due to the abuse suffered. If you are interested in adopting one of us to give us the life we deserve please fill in the application to adopt at the website below. SAFE Team will work with you to figure out which one of us is best suited for your family.

Zoe’s Animal Rescue I am called Little Man, and I came from the Best Friends Sanctuary in Utah. I am a 5yr old Shepherd X that was rescued during a police operation down south. I am a quiet, easy going & low energy boy who, despite everything, loves people very much and desperately just wants to be part of a family.
Hey there, my name is Copper and I am an energetic 1yr old Shepherd/Heeler X. I only weigh around 40lbs and I really like to play but I am also very affectionate. I just LOVE kids… I mean I lovelovelove them!!! I am very tolerant and don’t mind them fussing over me at all. Let’s play!
My name is Lady and I am a very sweet & affectionate, 8yr old, Terrier X. I have had a hard life, struggling to survive and taking care of many litters. I still get a little scared of loud noises and sudden movements so a quiet home where I can be pampered would be best. I’m such a pretty girl.
Hi there, my name is Piper. I am an 11mth Shepherd X and I am doing GREAT with my training. With proper introductions I am good with other dogs, cats and even kids. I just love people; in fact I like to think of myself as a lap dog from time to time.

Kona
“There is a home, I know it!” as she wags her tail in hope. If you pick up PRM often then you may know that this space is usually reserved for our bi-monthly book review. However, in this issue we decided not to pen a review but to tell you a real life story in the here and now about a dog named Kona. Kona has been featured in the magazine on many occasions and still this girl is waiting for her own special home. Last December she was our “cover girl” and yet her life is still continuing with the good people at the Hinton SPCA. We know there is a home somewhere that Kona will be a shining light in. Therefore, we are once again telling her story in the 8
pet rescue magazine
hope that her prospective pet parents may see her here and follow their heart to adopt her into their family. We don’t have to tell you how beautiful she is you can witness that by her picture. What we can’t show you is the “true” Kona who holds a heart as big and honest and strong as her Malamute build protrays. Perhaps Kona has not found her forever home because of her need to live without children or other fourlegger counterparts, but then there are many dogs and cats that fit that
April/May 2014
bill too. Kona would best suit a couple or single person with an active lifestyle, she would make a good running buddy and an all round friend. Let’s help Kona find her place in our world, that’s what animal rescue is all about - friendship and giving and being home. local stories...local people...local pets

My name is Mindy and I am a very young ‘work in progress’… but aren’t we all??? I am a gorgeous little 12wk old ALL Canadian Mixed Breed puppy. I have started working on my basic obedience skills so I am sure to impress if you give me a chance. Let’s meet soon!
Hello PRM fans! Our names are Dino, Darby & Dori. We are Rottweiler cross puppies and as cute as can be. We are ready to find our forever families and start our new lives, all we need now are loving homes. How about you come on by to meet us? Hi the! I am a gorgeous 9mth old puppy named Rebel. They tell me I am a Rotti/ Shepherd X that is FULL of energy and affection. I am working hard on my basic skills so when my new family finds me (hopefully soon) I will be ready to impress. Call about me... I love you already!
Hello, everyone calls me June. I am a rather vocal girl but I can still play shy at times. I am a pretty little Pitti X and I have been working hard on my basic skills so I am ready for my new forever home. I sure hope I find a home soon, I have so much love to give.
I am a beautiful 7yr old Rotti X named Tabby that is looking for a loving home. Although mature I still have a LOT of love and I can’t wait to share it. Hopefully in this day and age you won’t hold my senior status against me, after all everyone needs love… and I need you!!!
My name is Valentine and I am about 3mths old. Everyone says I am a mixed breed of all the best stuff!!! I think I will be a larger dog but not too big… all I know is I’m clearly going to always be adorable and full of love. I do have a heart murmur but it has not bothered me at all.

I go by the name Chaos! I am a 6mth old kitten that was abandoned but that doesn’t get me down... I am FULL of play. I am looking for a safe indoor home to call my very own. I am positive my purrrfect family is going to discover me here soon.
My name is Franko and I am a 1yr old mixed breed (of all the very best things of course) that is on the search for a new home. I am new around the SCARS scene but I’m a friendly & affectionate guy so I’m having no troubles getting along with everyone.
I am a tall and pretty girl named Gwynn that is full of grace. I would do very well in a home with another canine companion. I am good on or off leash, have nice manners, and I like cats and other dogs. I weigh about 75lbs and I would love a patient and calm home.

My name is Capone and I am just one of many, many, puppies here at SCARS. Gadai is my mother and she is also looking for a new home. I am full of everything puppy... lots of monkey trouble and tonnes of fun! We are a lot of work but you know we’re worth it!
Hello out there. My name is Sangria and I am a sweet Shepherd/Lab/Basset X who weighs about 65lbs. I am 3-4yrs old and I am great on leash. I just want to be close to my people. I can be cautious with new people or other dogs but I like the felines.
They call me Buster. I am a fun-loving guy who loves to swim. They tell me I am 2yrs old and think I am some kind of a Hound X. I listen quite well and I get along great with other dogs. I do, however, like to chase cats so a home without cats would be best.
Hello, my name is Bandora. I am an adorable, 3mth old, Pit Bull X that is looking for a loving new family. I am a very sweet and cuddly little girl who pretty well loves just about everyone and everything. I will be a wonderful dog for my very lucky new family.
My name is Century and I am about 2yrs old. I am soooo super excited about the idea of having my own family. I am a happy-golucky kind of girl and I love to play. I get along with everyone so I should be a good fit for many different types of homes.
They named me Sookie. I am a handsome Border Collie/Shepherd X that weighs about 45lbs. I am a shy pup that will need an experienced home willing to help build my trust. I am about 9mths old, already house trained and I can already sit nicely for treats.

trusting. Then one day a miracle happened. Katie finally gave in to her misgivings and peaceful, blessed rest fell over her. It has been one baby step at a time with Katie. Sleep came but never the kind of bunny chasing, yipping, twitching sleep that signals the dreams of deep sleep. In time, that too entered into her life. Three years after her arrival, and with much experimentation on her part, she finally experienced the pleasure of snuggling into me and sleeping on a nice warm lap. She was experiencing complete trust for the first time.
Well Done Katie! By: May Sutherland
I
’d like to say that Katie arrived on a dark and stormy night but I think that Katie’s life was just one dark stormy night before she came to Beagle Paws and to me. She actually arrived on a bright, sunny day in March, the most scared little animal I had ever seen. It wasn’t a happy start to a new life.
Within minutes of arriving at her new home and having her first walk she slipped her harness and off she went in absolute panic, terrified of everything around her including the people who were trying their best to catch her and keep her safe. Finally realizing that there was nowhere else to go she laid down waiting for what she probably thought was going to be another blow to her trembling little body. Of course, that was all in the past. 12
pet rescue magazine
Everything around Katie frightened her. The sound of a helicopter flying overhead left her cowering in the mud hoping to become invisible. Bus shelters might harbour someone waiting to hurt her. Stop signs and shadows cast by trees swaying in the breeze caused her to want to flee. The list went on and on. But the most terrifying things were the people, especially men. They must have brought back painful memories of her past. Even her new home was to be observed with caution. There was no telling if this new person could be trusted or would treat her with the same indifference and contempt that she had experienced in the first years of her life. For months she sat and watched, never taking her eyes off me, never quite
April/May 2014
At home in her safe place Katie is a happy, sassy little monkey. She loves attention, often to the detriment of her brother. She’s always smiling. She grins from ear to ear. Her tail is constantly wagging. I tell her that if she keeps that up one of these days it’s going to break right off ! She’s confident enough to ignore me when I call her but her wagging tail gives her away. She came to me with a serious case of separation anxiety. Now she can’t even be bothered to get up off her bed to greet me when I come home. She’s learned I’m sure to her amazement that not everyone who comes to visit justwants to see her. She’s full of confidence and self-assurance. The world outside continues to be a scary place. Fortunately Katie finds solace in doing what comes so naturally to a beagle. She loves her morning walks when the scent of bunnies fills the air. All of her senses are focussed on catching that elusive bunny; so much so that she forgets to be afraid. It is absolute joy for her. I now look back on the timid, terrified little creature that entered my life not so long ago and I am amazed by the changes that she has made. Katie has taught me that love and patience can change the world, even if it is just for one small little animal. prm

Beagle Paws Rescue My name is Chloe and I’m looking for a busy & active home to call my own. I’m smart, bold and very playful. I also get along well with other dogs and children. I would thrive in an active family where I am kept well exercised. Another canine buddy who can help wear off some of my puppy energy would be fantastic. I would be a great candidate for agility or for anyone who wants doggy company while they exercise. My name is Riley and, like Ardy, I’m an loving little boy. I like attention but I’m not an in-yourface kind of guy. I’m quite a gentleman; I come when I’m called and I have a quiet bark. I’m friendly and get along well with people and other dogs. When I get excited or know I am going for a walk I prance like a horse... now how cute is that? Although I’d love a home with Ardy, we can go our separate ways if there is another dog to keep us company.
My name is Ardy and I’m here with my brother Riley. I get along well with kids, other dogs & even cats. I’m not just handsome either; I’m quite talented and will entertain you with song whenever you return home. I love a comfy bed to sleep in, car rides, and most of all treats. We would love a home together but we have been separated since we came to Beagle Paws and would be OK in different homes as long as there was another canine friend to keep us company.
Hi there! I’m a little love bug named Baylee who is looking for my very own person to love forever. You see, through no fault of my own I have been bounced from home to home. This time I’d like to find a home where I’ll be loved forever and get all the attention that I deserve. I’m affectionate, well behaved and I get along well with other dogs and kids. Although I did receive a slap in the face already from the resident cat here, I’m still a little curious about them.

My name is Ellie and I am nearly 2yrs old. I am a really sweet and pretty girl, but I can also be very shy. Loud and fast moving things scare me! My perfect forever home would be with a mature & patient person or couple who spend lots of time at home. I need a little time to know I can trust you, but then I am all yours. Another calm & non-dominant feline in my new home to play with would be great. I am a really nice girl and I would love to meet you. Hello, I am sweet & happy little 1yr old girl named Chloe. Upon rescue I was very malnourished and had a severe case of mange but I have since flourished with all the TLC, proper food and medical attention I so desperately needed.
!My foster mom says I am such a cool cat! My name is Jenny and I have a unique personality. I like to be the boss in my house - so no dominant animals for roomies please. I am a confident kitty who is playful and very affectionate with my people.
Mousey here! I am 5mths old. I was found under a tree when I was very young. These days I am warm, safe and looking for a loving home. I have grown up with other cats & dogs and sometimes I like to be bossy but I can get along with everyone.
My name is Tiger. I am as big as a baby tiger and nearly as fluffy. I just love to snuggle and will follow you around the house all day. My favourite play toy is a feather wand. When I do catch it I start growling just like the cute little Tiger I am! Roar!!!
I am Squirt. I am one of quietest from my litter. I am a little shy and usually the last one to come out to say hello -but I am also the one that will cuddle the longest. I love to play with plastic balls that have bells in them. I just love the little bells!
I’m Runt! As you probably can guess from my name, I am the smallest (and of course the cutest) of my litter. I have no problem using my cuteness to secure the best spot on your lap to cuddle either. I have big paws (with 7 toes) and an even bigger heart.

Hello, my name is Chocolate and I was born at the beginning of February. I’m a curious little kitten that really loves to play with my Mom’s tail. In fact I would rather play than snuggle but only until I’m played out… then your lap is a good place to rest!
I am a very friendly girl but I do like to be the queen in my home. My name is Penny and I love to be brushed. I am a fairly independent gal (I don’t need to be laying on you or anything like that) and just having someone around to talk and be close to is good for me. Is red my color? My name is Little Red Bear. I know I look black, but in the light you can see all of my red & brown stripes. Another cool thing about me is that I am an American Bobtail. I am an awesome kitten around 4mths old and I love to play and cuddle.
Hello Rescue fans! I am a 1.5 year old Siamese/Bengal X named Willy. I was abandoned on a country road and no one can understand why because I get along with everybody. I am also very loving and playful. Also, I really like to follow my people around the house all day.

Setting Up Dogs and Kids for Success
No one drives an hour out of town just to look at a puppy. At least that’s what I said to my now-wife, Jesica, years before we were married. She wanted to go to a rescue near Mundare and meet a little puppy who we eventually named Olive. Yeah, that’s right: we drove an hour just to look at a puppy. And then we adopted her, named her, climbed back into my little pick-up, turned around on the farm’s gravel driveway, and drove back towards Highway 16. Once we got up to speed on the highway, I shifted my little pick-up into fifth gear and looked over at Jesica, huddled on the passenger’s side of the bench seat, cooing and cuddling a tiny Chihuahua puppy. It sounds a bit silly to say, but Jesica seemed so maternal in that moment, protecting and loving that little dog like a child. And for the next two years, that’s pretty much the role that Olive played. She was a furry kid. Eventually we married and were expecting our first child. Priorities scattered and our singular focus became the arrival of our son, Silas. Olive’s landscape swiftly changed. We never considered how things might affect her – the flashing lights of a Fisher Price toy or the scaffolding of a newly erected 18

crib. To be clear, we still loved Olive; but she had basically been bumped to second place and left to figure things out and adapt. When we brought Silas home from the hospital, the change in Olive was distinct. She hid whenever she could. If she was caught unawares by something or startled by Silas’ crying, she would growl or whine or just slink away somewhere, occasionally looking back at us, her eyes equal parts scared and stressed. I’m glad to say that things eventually worked out for all of us. We were fortunate that Olive was eventually conditioned to her surroundings and she managed to cope with the stresses of a baby, who became a toddler and is now a hands-on sixyear-old boy. Olive is a part of our family, and we’re a lot more attentive to the signals she sends us. This helps us prevent Silas and her from having the odd tender moment involving growls and tears. But could it all have been easier? I’ve spoken with a lot of parents who’ve had similar experiences. Some persevered, while others made the difficult choice to surrender their pets, fearful their children would get hurt. local stories...local people...local pets
Carol MacDonald is a canine behaviour consultant with the Edmonton Humane Society (EHS); she’s also a pet owner with six grandchildren, and she’s also spoken with a lot people whose experiences with dogs and children have been negative. So two years ago, she began investigating courses and clinics dedicated to child/dog safety. The search led her to an organization called Family Paws Parent Education, which provides two specialized programs for new and expecting families with dogs. Carol loved everything she read about the programs offered by Family Paws Parent Education – their concepts aligned with her focus on positive reinforcement training methods. So she applied to teach the courses, was accepted into the training program, and became a certified instructor. The first program she became certified to instruct was Dogs & Storks. This program helps parents prepare before the arrival of babies, setting up families for safety and success once their newborns join them in their homes. In her Dogs & Storks clinic, Carol talks to expectant parents about desensitizing and counter-conditioning their pets prior to the upheaval caused by newborns and toddlers. Carol recommends strategies like playing recordings of a baby’s cry and showing dogs toys and high chairs before the arrival of an infant. During the desensitizing and counter-conditioning process, Carol also urges people to reward good canine manners, like sitting and staying, rather than scolding pets for jumping up or investigating things too closely. The goal, Carol points out, is to build positive associations, not negative ones. The second course, Dogs & Toddlers, is for parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, babysitters, day homeowners, and anyone who regularly has dogs and babies or toddlers in the
local stories...local people...local pets
home. This program’s aims to help families and dogs be safe and successful throughout children’s toddler years. Dogs & Toddlers focuses more on communication and how our methods of engaging other people can often be stressful for a dog. We get excited when we see friends and loved ones, so we raise our voices, show our teeth as we smile, and often embrace one another – these are actions that can put pets on high alert, causing them to communicate with us with body language of their own, which Carol helps people learn to read. Understanding a dog’s body language is a powerful preventative tool that defuses stressful situations before they escalate, keeping pets and children safe when they’re close by one another. My wife and I were fortunate to have a dog who eventually adapted to the stresses of small children. Still, there were difficult times with Silas and Olive, and those difficulties could have been avoided had we known more about desensitizing, positive reinforcement, and reading body language. And had Olive not been the well-tempered,adaptable dog that she is, what difficult decisions might we have made about her? People are making these tough choices all the time, and inevitably many pets are surrendered to the Edmonton Humane Society as a result. We’re hopeful that Carol’s clinics will go along way towards empowering people, spreading positive messaging, and helping people see that its within their power to make their homes safe, healthy and happy for dogs and kids alike. Carol will be presenting Dogs & Toddlers on Thursday, May 29 at 6:30 – 9:30 PM, and she’ll be presenting Dogs & Storks Saturday, May 31 from 12:00 – 3:00 PM. Both courses will be held in the EHS’ Humane Education classroom. For more information or to register, please call 780-491-3521. prm

Duke & Duchess Animal Rescue Society My name is Louise and I am known as the social butterfly around here. Being around people & other dogs is like a little piece of heaven for me. I even think the slightly grumpy resident Rotti in my foster home is pretty great! It took a while but I’ve finally won him over (he told me not to tell too many people though… so let’s keep it our little secret!). I am a fantastic retriever and I can’t wait to show off my skills to you. Or maybe we could go run in the snow, do some hiking or play in the water? It’s Jack! I have great manners & I am very well behaved for a dog of my age (1.5yrs) and size. I LOVE the resident lady dog here in my foster home. I’m good on leash, very playful (when not distracted by the ladies!), and I really enjoy having a good bone to chew on. Sterling here! I am super sweet 1yr old. I am a stunning black & silver Collie X who loves attention, especially from the ladies! In fact, I will do anything for some love! I can be a bit nosy with the cats and other dogs… I’m not rude though, just curious.

My name is Piper and I’m an 8yr old Indian Ringneck Parakeet. I get along very well with other birds, especially Cockatiels. I step up very well and I’m also trained to step on a stick for those shy of handling me. If you are looking for an independent bird that you can trust to have out with other birds you should really meet me. Things to note: I am not a cuddly bird that likes to be pet, and although I’m not overly loud I do have a high pitched alert sound... usually used when someone new is in my house, or if you take away my Cockatiel friend.

www.meikasbirdhouse.com It’s me, Kiwi! I’m an extremely affectionate and beautiful Umbrella Cockatoo around 15yrs young. I’m super friendly and I have even been brought to kindergarten classes to meet the kids (I was the star of the show!!!). I can be loud when I want out, or if I’m being ignored, so an apartment would not be ideal.
I am Noonan, a feisty 10yr old Black Capped Conure. I need an experienced handler as my body language & signals aren’t always clear. I can be a very loving bird when trust is developed. I’m not too loud but I will alert you if the mailman or a crow is looking suspicious in the front yard.
Hello Everyone! I am a Quaker Parrot named Pepper. I am about 8yrs old and extremely affectionate to people I like. I am a fun loving guy with a cute little vocabulary and the ability to perform a couple tricks on command. I’m a social little bird with a big heart and lots of laughs.

Hello, my name is Sophie and I was rescued with my siblings. I am 6mths old with striking green eyes and super soft fur. I love being brushed and I’m already litter trained. I’m a very affectionate cat and I love belly rubs. I will do well with respectful children of any age. Hello! My name is Bella and I’m a beautiful Shepherd/ Husky X that weighs about 75lbs. I’m a senior-aged girl, so I would be perfect for someone who loves long walks at night or laying down with great company to read or watch TV. I sure hope to meet you soon.
Wow! I’m such a handsome young guy at 10mths old. My name is Linus. I’m energetic, playful, and a tad mischievous! I also have a sweet & cuddly side and love to curl up close. There are no pets in my current foster home but I think I would enjoy a friend to chase around & wrestle with.
I’m Minou and I am a lovely 8yr old Tabby. I was recently surrendered due to a change in the life circumstances of my former family. I need a quiet home where I can bond strongly to my caregivers. Life’s recent changes have been hard, so it will take a few days to settle into my new home.
Everyone here calls me Miss Prissy. I raised 4 beautiful kittens and I was a great Mom, but now I’m ready for a long and happy life in my own home. I am 2yrs old and have a beautiful coat. I’m also as loving & gentle as can be. I can’t wait to meet my new family.
I am a Red Heeler so my name is Rusty. I was unclaimed from a local pound so I am looking for a new family to love me forever. I am well behaved & quite loveable. I can be a little uncertain in new situations but I’m very trusting & always want to please. I’m 3yrs old & weigh about 40 lbs.
I’m Sookie, a 5yr old Siberian Husky X. I was unclaimed from the pound. I’m a very sweet & active girl who just loves to give kisses & snuggle up. I will require some training in the manners department but I’m happy to learn. I also have the most adorable husky howl!

Greater Edmonton Animal Rescue Society I bet you’ve heard of me, but in case you haven’t my name is Smiley. I was a stray in a rural community but I was very afraid and until I was severely injured I avoided rescue volunteers. I was shot and needed surgery to insert a plate into my leg to fix the fractured bone. Now that I’m healing up, I know that a warm home is most definitely where I want to be. You would hardly know that I had surgery just a few months ago; I just love going for walks and playing with other dogs.
My name is Scamp and I am a 13wk old Terrier/Dachshund X who was surrendered after I got very ill with the parvo virus. Now I am all better, and happy to be protected in the future with vaccinations. I am a sweet & energetic gal who loves to cuddle.
The name’s Jazz, but you can all call me Jazzy! I am a spunky 8mth old kitten that started out as a farm cat that was going to be euthanized. Now I have a new lease on life and I’m quite cuddly, playful, and curious... all the things that make a fantastic kitten.
My name is Lokie and I came to GEARS with my brother when our owner passed away. My brother has been adopted but I am still waiting for a home to call my own. I am an affectionate 2yr old that gets along with everyone. Catnip toys are my favourite!

Muggins here. I’m 11yrs young and looking for good company and a quiet home to retire in. Now that I’ve lost a few pounds, and had some medical stuff looked after, stairs are no problem and I can jump on the bed for cuddle time. I get along fine cats and other dogs.

‘Evan Sent
By: Leah Cline-Veneau
T
wo weeks before Christmas my husband I stopped at our local pet store. Little did I know that this day would change my life so much. Looking at all the cute dogs and cats up for adoption, I felt my heart melting for all of them. Not normally being a cat person, I didn’t really look that hard at the cats. My husband asked me if we should adopt one. I sort of shrugged and started looking a little more seriously. We asked to see “Evan”, he was an older cat about 8 and a half months old. The girl put him in my arms and he gave me a little kiss on the nose….. that was it I was in love…..a confirmed dog lover had my heart stolen by this little cat. My husband and I decided we wanted “Evan” and we started the adoption process with Little Cats Lost. We were able to bring him home the next day. It was a huge change for us and for him. Our new kitty was welcomed into our home that had some other fourlegged friends including my son’s cat and his service dog along with my own dog. Chaos ruled our house and poor Evan was so scared, but thanks to kitty treats and lots of patience and affection Evan started to come out of his shell. 24

He and our other cat became best buddies and he tolerated the dogs, although he quite likes playing with the Beagle’s ears and tail. Soon the days turned to weeks then weeks to months and we watched this little guy find his stride and place within our lives. We found the things he likes to do so charming, from sitting on the coffee table with his paws on the window ledge watching the birds, to him standing on the chair to see us off when we leave to make sure we wave goodbye. He loves everything, to lying beside me when I play on my handheld devices, gently touching with a paw to see what response he gets to his favourite game of chasing material tied to ceiling fan turned on low (took him a few tries but once he got the hang of that he loved it). We also can’t forget to mention sleeping on daddy’s tummy while they watch television. What we didn’t realize, as our boy was finding his place in our home, that while like our other animals who we had rescued, maybe he, like them had rescued us as well, because I don’t think we could imagine our lives without him. Evan has a new forever home now and a new name, we call him Bandit because he stole our hearts. prm local stories...local people...local pets
Little Cats Lost (Trap-Neuter-Return) Society
Hello world!! We are a great little trio (from left to right) called May, June and Augusto. We are 4wks tomorrow (April 2). Our Mom is feral so she’s not so keen on humans, but we are little love bugs! Of course we can’t go home with our human pet parents until we are older but hey there’s nothing wrong in looking is there? We know our little chubby faces are going to melt a few hearts but we are a huge commitment to any family and will live with you for many years, so before you fall completely in love think of us and the time you have to give us so we can grow up loved and live in our homes forever and ever!
That’s right darlings... my name is Juliet and I am a fun loving, 9yrs young Diva. I tell you I could be a model for all those face lift commercials as I don’t look a year over 2 haha! Seriously though, I am a wonderful companion that would love a quiet home. I have no problem living as the only four-legger in your home as peace and quiet is where I’m at. A girl has to get her beauty sleep you know! If you can provide me with all the comforts of home... well all you have to do is call.

My name is Coyote and I came into care from the pound. I am cute, sweet and snugly; everyone adores me! I REALLY like kids and I can’t wait to have my own family that will love me forever. Come and play with me, I promise we will have the best of times.
Hey there, my name is Cream and I am a beautiful Flame Point Siamese with stunning blue eyes. I am very docile and would do best in a calm home where we can just cuddle all day and night. I love other cats and will curl right up with them.
Mira here! I was rescued, very sick & pregnant, from a hoarding situation. Sadly my little ones got sick too but they have found homes with the angels. I have had a tough time, but now I am healthy and it’s my turn to have someone look after me. 26

My name is Filly and I am the funniest kitten around. I make everyone laugh because I am so playful and can be quite clumsy. I love everything that comes my way and I always keep the room smiling. I will do great in a home with lots of attention.
Greetings, my name is Petie. I am a beautiful and fluffy girl that is very calm and gentle. I would love a quiet home where I can just sleep on the bed and perch by the window to watch what’s going on outside. I purr so much you can hear it from across the room!

Are you ready to play? Our names are Ian, Ethel & Gussy and we came from a rural community in Saskatchewan. We are without a doubt the funniest & most endearing puppies. We have great little personalities and will do well with any loving family. Would you like to see us in action?
I’m Blizzard, a gorgeous blueeyed Husky. I am completely bomb proof and love anybody and anything that comes my way. I will cover you in hugs and kisses and greet you every day with love. I can’t wait to be your very best friend.
This goofy guy is me Quill. I was seized by the ASPCA, very emaciated and covered with quills. I have recovered perfectly though and I am the best boy ever. I appreciate everything and in return I give everyone as much love as I can.
Our names are Osha and Egret and we were rescued from a hoarding house. We look identical but that is just because we are sisters. We love to play but we are also quite snuggly. We really want a home where we can be together as we have never been separated.

Hello people, I’m Macey. I have an outgoing and super friendly personality. I love people and other pets so I would be a great addition to your family. I’m a little “snoop” and love to investigate new places and things! Dylan here! Are you looking for a friendly, outgoing, laid back, calm and submissive pet? I love adults and older children. I also do okay with other submissive pets, but would prefer to be the only pet in my new home if possible.
My name is Katie I’m very friendly and talkative! I adore people and getting affection. You can include me in all the family action! I need a home with children 10+ and I do well with other submissive cats.
My name is Claire I’m a little shy at first but I adore getting attention! I am calm and enjoy relaxing. Being in a home with children 10+ and as an only pet or with other submissive pets would be ideal. Please give me a chance I know you will be pleased with me.

Sundance Canine Rescue My name is Jack and I am a Bichon Frise. I am very playful for a mature dog and I love people but no felines please -I just can’t tolerate them! I’m a good little watch dog when people come to the door but I will be quiet when asked. I also know my basic commands and a few tricks… my only real challenge is separation anxiety. I just really want to stay close and would prefer to come with you whenever possible. I am truly an excellent companion and will be sure to keep you entertained and well loved forever.

Rescue 100
I am Sofia. I’ve been here for awhile now and I think it’s because I was a little shy at first. I wasn’t too sure about the whole human friendship experience, but the great volunteers have been working with me and now I’m starting to think that people aren’t so bad after all! I can’t wait to find my new home where I will receive lots of TLC and help to reach my full potential. My name is Pepper. I’m a very sweet young mare who really wants someone to love me. I was a little cautious at first, but curious at the same time and I’ve been trusting more and more daily. All I really need is some one-on-one time to flourish. I’ve so much potential… all I need now is to find my forever home.
My name is Nazhoni and I was born right here at the rescue about six years ago. My mother was one of the original herd of horses that was rescued back in 2008. I found a home when I was a baby, but through no fault of my own, I have returned in search of a new forever home. I just want a place that I can call my very own and I promise to give you so much love in return!
