Message from the
Principal
You have achieved a milestone in your educational pursuit with the completion of your primary schooling. You have secured a strong foundation in your learning. I encourage you to build on this strong foundation and continue to add more significant layers to your learning. Never stop your learning, even into your adulthood and old age, for learning is a life-long process. The world is changing. Technology is fast developing and the nature of work is evolving. You need to continue to learn, remain adaptable and versatile to take up new challenges. Be inspired to move ‘beyond learning for grades to learning for mastery, beyond learning in school to learning throughout life and beyond learning for work to learning for life’. 2015 has been a momentous year for Singapore and all of us. As we celebrated the 50th year of our nation’s independence, we also saw the passing of founding Prime Minister, Mr Lee Kuan Yew. Through the various events, we learnt the Singapore Story and the pioneering spirit. I urge you to imbibe the pioneering spirit, which involves the willingness to work hard, the openness to take up challenges, and the ingenuity, tenacity, resilience and sense of togetherness, to turn problems and constraints into opportunities, to realise your aspirations. Yes, you can do it! Remember fondly your Beacon Experience, for in Beacon, you have cultivated strong friendships and learnt exciting things. Beacon is your alma mater. As you move to higher places, keep in mind the spirit of appreciation and gratitude for the support and opportunities you have received from your parents, your teachers, your friends and those who have helped you. Be nice to them, especially to your parents and family members. A secret ingredient to success and happiness is being grateful for the opportunities you have received. You may not be rich, but you can feel rich by being grateful. You may not start off with confidence, but once you take responsibility and ownership of your own learning and positive growth, you will feel confident and proud of yourself. I wish you every success in your future. Keep working hard and keep striving on to be better each day. Keep the BEACON SHINE with you.

Message from the
Massage from the Dean & Head Prefect
Dean
Dear Graduating Beacons, You are the 3rd graduating batch that I’ve had the joy and privilege to work with. In all honesty, I do not remember what the PSLE scores of our former students were, even the ones in my form classes. I do not really remember what schools each ex-Beacon had gone to. I do not remember whether they got 4A*, 4Bs or 4Cs. I do not remember all of that. But what I do remember are the moments, faces and the characters of those who have touched my heart in one way or another. I remember a boy, who, despite some family difficulties, remained humble, respectful and took his studies seriously although he was not so good in many subjects. I remember a girl, who, despite having to worry about and take care of her very sick mother throughout Primary 6, put in her very best effort every single day in order to achieve a result that she could be proud of in the PSLE. I remember another girl who, a month after Teacher’s Day, gave me three used pens, placed in a broken pen box, then wrapped with a reused wrapping paper. She approached me and said, “Sorry, Mr Nasrun, this came a
bit late. Happy Teacher’s Day!” These I remember and will remember for a long time to come. I’m sure you always get the question, “What do you want to be when you grow up?” You would normally answer it with ‘doctor’, ‘lawyer’, ‘professional footballer’ and ‘LAN gamer’ and such. But the next time someone asks you that, tell him instead who you want to be. Tell him that you want to be a person whom everyone remembers for your kindness and good heart. Tell him that you want to be a person who makes a difference in the lives of others, such that you will be missed when you are not around. Tell him that you want to change the world. Some of you have touched our lives in ways that you could have never imagined. We hope we have touched yours too. Take care, Beacons! Love and respect your parents, do the best in everything that you do and seek knowledge wherever you are. SHINE on!
Nasrun Bin Mizzy

Message from the
Head Prefect
I still remember the first day I stepped into Beacon. I was unsure of what to do. How am I supposed to buy food? Where should I go? I am sure all of you were feeling the same way, lost and confused. However, we were blessed to have angels by our sides, angels whom we call ‘Teachers’. We have not just learned from them. We have cried and laughed with them, journeyed with them through the many ‘ups’ and ‘downs’, and most of all, we were loved by them. They cared for us as if we were their own children. Their ‘infinite reprimands’ were intended for our well-being. They never once gave up on us. They always pushed us to do our ultimate best. They instilled in us the necessary values that will help us go through the challenges that lie ahead. To all the Teachers, we are forever grateful and indebted to you. After six years - for some, less - we have reached the time for us to leave Beacon. We will be on our separate ways,
moving on to a new school. We will always look back at all the wonderful memories we have had with our fellow Beacons. Those memories will always be cherished. Cherish all of them, not only the memories, but also your closest friends, for one of the most valuable wealth that one can accumulate is the number of good friendships. Life itself is an uncertain yet wonderful journey, determined by the choices you make each day. We are on the right path to take on the world. Mr. Lee Kuan Yew once said, “To the young and to the not-so-old, I say, look at the horizon, follow that rainbow, go ride it.” So, positively move on to the next phase of your lives with the Beacon’s 5Cs in your minds and hearts, and ride your rainbow!

Dear 6/1, Time flies! It has been almost two years since I have known the current cohort of Primary Six students. It has truly been a rewarding experience for me to teach this batch of students. There are many positive learning experiences and fond memories which I will treasure dearly. These two years have allowed me to witness your great development in terms of character and cognitive abilities. Your maturity progression has impressed me and it is gratifying to see many 6/1 boys and girls well on their way to becoming fine young gentlemen and ladies.
Here’s wishing you all the best for your future endeavours.

Dear 6/1, Soon, you will be leaving Beacon Primary School and starting a new chapter in your life. Over the past two years, we have had many fond memories together. We have laughed endlessly, sung hysterically, worked hard with our goal in mind and prepared for the “Big Day” (The PSLE) with our hearts as one. I have witnessed your perseverance through the difficult times and the confident smiles on your faces when you finally reached your goals. It has definitely been an enriching journey for me as well. I am really honoured to have been your co-form teacher and I am TRULY proud of all of you. I sincerely wish you all the best in your future endeavours and may you continue to SHINE!

To my dearest 6/2, It has been a great pleasure being your form teacher this year. I may not have taught you the core subjects but through our daily interactions, Form Teacher time, weekly Pastoral Care periods and Health Education lessons, you have shown me that 6/2 is a lively and bubbly class. You are a class of individuals who are full of ideas and possess a diverse array of personalities. Each one of you is unique in your own special way. For this next chapter, my greatest wish is that each and every one of you will shine brightly in all aspects of your life. However, do stay rooted to the moral values that you have been taught the past six years in Beacon. Stay humble always…
Uphold your integrity throughout your life’s journey! 6/2 - Here’s wishing you all the best in your future endeavours! “Challenges are what make life interesting and overcoming them is what makes life meaningful.” ~ Joshua J. Marine Warmest wishes,
Mdm Wahindah Suhari Form Teacher, 6/2
Dear 6/2 pupils, Time flies! Soon, each one of you will be moving forward to the next phase of your life. As you face the new challenges in your secondary school, remember that perseverance is your buddy. Don’t give up easily! Life is not a bed of roses. You are bound to experience struggles and set-backs. Allow me to quote your classmate, Joel, who once said, “...pain is your teacher” (I certainly hope that your teacher is not your pain! :) Let the difficulties and failures teach you and spur you on to better yourself and scale greater heights! All these life experiences will definitely shape your character. May you continue to grow and bloom in whatever you do. Always remember to be humble and consider not only your interests but others’ as well. “Most people say that it is the intellect which makes a great scientist. They are wrong: it is character.” ~ Albert Einstein

Dear 6/3, What appears to be the end is actually a new beginning. Soon, you will be embarking on a new chapter in your lives. It will be a chapter that promises excitement and challenges. Many of these challenges may be tumultuous at times but these are the experiences that will either shape you to be a matured lady or a fine young gentleman. Always remember to build your character, for intelligence plus character is the goal of true education. Be loyal, stay humble, have dignity and most importantly, have a good heart.

All the best in your future endeavours and continue to keep the Beacon spirit. SHINE ON BEACONS!
Mdm Zuraidah
Co-Form Teacher, 6/3 Dear Angels of Class 6/3, I have enjoyed the days we have spent together. It has been a time to learn from one another, play together during the post PSLE days, exercise on days when we needed some discipline and celebrate each and every one of our successes with loud cheers and praises. We treated everyone in the class with respect and embraced the differences we had as we continuously aimed to build an inclusive and embracing class full of team spirit. I am impressed with your kind and forgiving hearts that have made class 6/3 so unique and fun to be in. While life is never a bed of roses and it may be full of challenges, having lovely angels like all of you have definitely added colour to brighten up the spirit of the class with positivity. I hope that you will continue to embrace new challenges with great perseverance and have the optimism to overcome all the odds that come your way. I am proud to be your form teacher and I wish all of you success in your future endeavours. Goodbye, my Angels!

Congratulations on completing your journey in your primary education. I am sure that this has been a fulfilling and memorable phase of your life. As you move on to the next chapter, remember that your alma mater has taught you many important lessons in life. School is not just a place to prepare you for the demands of work and adulthood. School is a home away from home where you build your fondest memories of childhood. When you leave Beacon Primary School, full of pride, at the end of your primary school education, what remains will be the moments of joy, fun and laughter flowing from the innocent hearts. You would have developed bonds of friendship collaged through common experiences between you and your friends. These wonderful memories will be among some of the best parts of your life!
Dearest 6/4 pupils,
Continue to build upon the good work that has been done. I am confident that the learning culture which has been instilled in you through your 6 years in Beacon Primary School will position you well for the road ahead.
Remember, it is not yet over. Your graduation from Primary School is simply a break as you enter the new battlefield in life. Continue walking in the path of your dreams, work harder and dream further. The world judges you not by the number of times you stumble and fall, but by the number of times that you are able to get up, brush yourself off, and try again. Never ever give up.
All the best to you in your future endeavours!
Mdm Zoel Lau
Co-Form Teacher, 6/4
I hope that no matter where your future takes you, you will continue the learning process - keep reading, keep writing and keep seeking knowledge. The more we know, the better people we become and I believe that. I hope that you will be open-minded and NEVER STOP LEARNING! For now, enjoy the fruit of your labour. I wish you all the very best! Love,
Miss Nishalini

Before we say goodbye, I just wanted to let you know how grateful I am for the opportunity to be your teacher this year. I hope you know how much I genuinely enjoyed teaching you. I absolutely love English, but even more than English, I love all of you. It really brings me to tears to know that you will be graduating. It feels like yesterday when I first began teaching you. I witnessed how hard you studied and saw how much effort you put into your learning. Now that you have finished this race, another milestone awaits you. I can’t help but feel really proud.

Dear 6/5, For some of you, I have known you since I joined Beacon in June 2012. For many others, you entered my life only in January 2014. I’ve watched you grow over the years, smile endlessly, have loud outbursts, laugh over the smallest things, and tear whenever you were hurt.
When you move on to secondary school, the journey will not be easy. It will definitely get harder before it gets easier. Have faith and believe that you are not alone. No one is. Remember to be around people who know your worth and will appreciate you for who you are. No one is perfect but trust me, I will definitely miss you all. Have I ever lied to you? So go out there, and reach out for your dreams! For your dreams CAN come true, if you have the courage to pursue them!
Mdm Nazreen

It has been a humbling experience teaching all of you. I have witnessed your personal victories over things that were difficult; your friendships, stories and new memories. You inspired me to give my best, to fight alongside you and help you to win the battle in your pursuit of knowledge. Your future will be bright if you continue to persevere and make the most of your time in secondary school. Make learning a habit and contribute positively whenever you can. I wish you the very best in your future endeavours. You will always be remembered for you are my 1st batch of Primary 6s. I will miss you dearly. Your fellow Beacon,

I’ve observed how most of you struggled to make a choice, learnt from your mistakes, and came to the realisation that you are responsible for your own future as it is YOUR life. You have a long way ahead of you, my dear 6/5. You will meet new people - some, who will come into your life as a blessing and some who will come as lessons. If you do go through some difficult days, stay positive. It is only a bad day and not a bad life.

To my dearest 6/6 pupils, Ever since you were in Primary 5, I have reminded you to work hard and be good. I am proud to say that you have grown and stretched yourselves cognitively to be the boy or girl that you are now. I do hope that you will continue to seek knowledge and learn the subtle nuances in communicating and working with different groups of people.
I would like to see all of you when you are all grown up, and hear all the successes, and experiences that you have gone through in your life. Lastly, in the words of Confucius, always ‘respect teachers and value education’. Never give up and strive on! Regards,

Well Wishes from...
The Vice-Principals Dear P6 students, My warmest congratulations on your graduation! In your six years with Beacon, your teachers and I have seen how much you have grown, how much you have learnt and how much you have matured. I can still recall your first day in school which had been exciting for some and a little intimidating for others. Steadfast, resolute and determined, you have become more confident and independent under the guidance of our dedicated teachers. Along the way, you have had some great times and some rough times, but you have all succeeded in completing the 6 years of your journey in Beacon. I am proud of you and your achievements. Remember to leave the school with fond memories that you will cherish and friendships that you will continue to forge.
Graduation is both an ending and a beginning. It marks the end of a stage in life and the beginning of a new chapter and endeavour. I am confident that you will continue to try your very best in all that you do with perseverance, commitment and enjoyment. As you move on, do continue to uphold the Beacon SHINE values and always strive for personal excellence. Remember, “The will to win, the desire to succeed, the urge to reach your full potential… these are the keys that will unlock the door to personal excellence.” – Confucius
Finally, you have completed 6 years of primary school education. This completion also marks the beginning of a new chapter in your education journey. During your 6 years in Beacon, you have acquired not just knowledge from books but also many other skills through programmes and activities such as camps, learning journeys and CCAs offered by the school. We are confident that with the strong foundation we have given you, you will be well placed to excel in the next phase of your educational journey.
Beacons, I wish you all the best and success in your new journey ahead!
As what Colin Powell, the American statesman and a retired 4-star general of the United States Army, said, “There are no secrets to success. It is the result of preparation, hard work, and learning from failure”. Continue to work hard and believe in yourself that you can achieve great things in life.

The EAS & ICT Staff Beacons,
How time flies...
Congratulations on graduating from primary school!
This is already the third batch of graduating students that we have seen. The ICT team certainly hopes that we have supported your learning well. The teachers and technical staff (Mr Rashid, Mr Willie Fung and Mr Shafiq) would like to once again encourage you to continue learning with and leveraging technologies. Information communication technologies, and especially the Internet, have become an integral part of learning and an important aspect of our lives.
Knowledge is a never-ending process. This graduation does not mark the end of your education, but instead is a very important milestone in the beginning of your learning. There are many more opportunities awaiting your discovery. We are sure that you will continue to achieve success in every way. All the Office and ICT Staff of Beacon wish you the Best for your future!
Ms Nike Jim
Administration Manager
However, do remember that it is not the technologies that will improve our learning and thinking. It is our commitment and passion for the contents and subjects that make the difference. Technologies serve to enhance and facilitate our learning but it is the motivation and passion of the students that determine what is ultimately learned. And there are rich findings at the end of the rainbow. To the young and to the not-so-old, I say, look at that horizon, follow that rainbow, go ride it.” ~ Founding Father, late Mr Lee Kuan Yew The time has come for you to embark on the next season of your life. Carry the beautiful memories formed here - all the love showered upon you, all the friendships forged and the enduring precious life lessons you have learnt from your teachers over the last six years. Boldly embrace the exciting bright future that awaits you. Borrowing the wise words from our Founding Father, the late Mr Lee, I urge all of you to keep your eyes on the horizon for the rainbow.
