THINK OUT SIDE THE BOX

T

here was once a teacher who had his class stand in a row with their backs to the classroom wall. He then gave each student a piece of paper and a challenge saying; “Now try to make a paper airplane that can fly to the opposite wall of the room.”

The opposite wall of the room was about 10 meters away from the wall the students were standing. The students began folding their airplanes into all sorts of shapes as they thought would fly farthest. Each student then threw their masterpieces towards the opposite wall. But with no avail, not one plane reached the wall.

The teacher walked over to the students and said; “Now everyone watch how a world champion folder folds his airplane.”

The teacher took not even 5 seconds to make his “airplane” and in fact his “airplane” didn’t have any wings but was rather round.

Yes!! He bunched up the piece of paper into a ball as tight as he could and threw it across the room with all his might. His “paper airplane” reached the opposite wall without any wings at all!

He explained to his students that the reason for the challenge was to teach them that their mindset is stuck in a box that is “paper airplanes must have wings just as every plane they have ever seen.”

Everyone thinks of the “limits” of design more than the “goal”.

In just an hour of study, the teacher was able to teach his student’s that sometimes starting your design based on the “goal” rather than the limitations can make for a better result.

The teacher wasn’t stuck in the box of traditional thinking, but rather created a unique airplane like none other before that was able to reach the necessary “goal”.

Edward de Bono, a world famous “Creativity Guru” renowned for introducing the concept of “Lateral Thinking” once shared that intelligence is a trap that causes many to be too afraid to think creatively. Those with much knowledge and experience are like a full glass of water, they won’t allow any new ideas in. They are too confident in their high level of knowledge and experience and often end up using the same old solutions for new problems regardless of the everchanging variables.

It is true that knowledge and experience helps us create good ideas but if we are able to harness such knowledge as a glass half full then we will be able to add in a variety of new flavors that make our drink similar to none.

ALL13 FOOTBALL TEAM MEMBERS FOUND ALIVE INSIDE FLOODED CAVE

escuers found all 12 boys and their football coach alive inside the flooded Tham Luang Cave Monday night, reported The Nation.

The 13 victims from a local football club, Mu Pa Academy Mae Sai, have been stranded inside the cave in Chiang Rai province because of flash floods since June 23.

Chiang Rai Governor Narongsak Osottanakorn confirmed at about 10pm on Monday that the victims had been found.

AWAKENING CITIZENS

We often use the words “civilian”, “taxpayer” and “citizen” much the s a m e . H o w e v e r, these 3 words have more than subtle differences, especially in governmental speech and law.

T

he “civilian” describes those who have no level of ownership or rule. In fact, the word (in Thai) in olden days meant a laborer or slave.

However, in today’s society civilians have the right to equality and freedom under the law.

The “taxpayer” describes civilians who also have the responsibility of paying taxes and following political law.

They also have the role and right to vote and express their political input.

The “citizen” is similar to the taxpayer in that they must also pay taxes and fulfill their roles in political law. However, citizens are different than taxpayers in that rather than only being a receiver of political duty, they also independently contribute and participate in helping the government carry out its duties. For example, citizens may volunteer to support environmental causes or act as a network able to report emergencies, disasters or even corruption in government.

If we look at Thai society according to the definitions above, we can accept that most Thai civilians are not yet “citizens”. Thai culture has traditionally allowed the government to do the work of the taxpayer and today it still remains this way. The Thai people continue to act as the “civilian” though they have the right to rule.

Thai government began during the 5th dynasty and since then has continually developed into many departments which today take almost every role of the citizen. In the beginning, the government only involved national stability and finance, but today it has spread into every area of society.

AND CHANGING SOCIETY

“The continual growth of government has caused the Thai people to see public issues as the responsibility of the government and not their own.

Therefore, the Thai people have become accustomed to the benefits of such government departments.”

It has become a clear picture of the efficiency of Thai government throughout generations. Though the government has tried to delegate power to the people through local authorities, this has only turned into government expansion that prohibits the people’s rights to being a “citizen”.

For most of you who have kept up with me, whether here or on social media, you’ll know that “I have never thought to be a politician whether on a local or national level.”

But the reason I continue to push social movements such as the 24 hour clean Bang La Rd, Patong Development Foundation, CCTV Installation for Patong safety, Patong beach guard project and many other projects is; Because I have a clear purpose as a “good local citizen” and Thai citizen.

Based on the belief that “it starts with us – initial effort”.

Today, I am not alone. There are still many others who are stepping forward as “citizens” passionate about the responsibility of the public’s well-being who are taking action through developmental ideas and government involvement to insure a transparent and morally sound society.

Welcome to “citizenship” everyone! Let’s move forward together!

ปลุกส�ำนึกพลเมือง เปลี่ยนสังคม โดยทั่ว ไปเรามัก ใช้ ค� ำ ว่ า "ประชาชน" (people) ราษฎร (subject) และพลเมื อง (citizen) เหมือนเป็ นค�ำเดียวกัน แทบจะแทน กันได้ ทังที ้ ่จริ งแล้ ว ทัง้ 3 ค�ำดังกล่าวมีความ หมายแตกต่ า งกัน ไม่ น้ อ ย โดยเฉพาะด้ า น รัฐศาสตร์ ที่วา่ ด้ วยการเมือง การปกครอง “ประชาชน” หมายถึง คนทีไ่ ม่ใช่ผ้ ปู กครอง (non-ruler) ซึง่ ในสมัยโบราณประชาชนคือ ไพร่ หรื อทาส ส่วนในสมัยใหม่ประชาชนได้ รับการ ปลดปล่อยเป็ นเสรี ชน มีสถานะทางกฎหมาย

สิทธิทางการเมืองที่เท่าเทียมกัน “ราษฏร” หมายถึง ประชาชนที่มีหน้ าที่ เสียภาษี ปฏิบตั ิตามกฎหมายบ้ านเมือง และ มีบทบาทและอ�ำนาจทางการเมืองในการไป ใช้ สิทธิเลือกตัง้ รวมทังการแสดงออกทางการ ้ เมืองต่าง ๆ “พลเมื อ ง” มี ค วามหมายใกล้ เ คี ย งกับ ค� ำ ราษฎร คื อ มี ห น้ า ที่ เ สี ย ภาษี ปฏิ บัติ ต าม กฎหมายบ้ านเมือง และมีบทบาทและอ�ำนาจ ทางการเมืองในการไปใช้ สิทธิเลือกตัง้ รวมทัง้ การแสดงออกทางการเมืองต่าง ๆ เหมือนกัน แต่มีความต่างกันตรงที่ราษฏรเป็ นฝ่ ายตังรั้ บ จากการด�ำเนินการของรัฐ แต่พลเมือง กลับ เป็ นฝ่ ายรุก ที่อยากเข้ าไปมีสว่ นร่วม เข้ าไปช่วย ท�ำ และสามารถท�ำการต่าง ๆ แทนรัฐ เช่น การ ท�ำงานจิตอาสาดูแลสิง่ แวดล้ อม เป็ นเครื อข่าย แจ้ งเหตุดว่ น เหตุร้าย หรื อกระทัง่ เป็ นเครื อข่าย ปราบปรามการทุจริ ตคอรัปชัน่ ต่างๆ ถ้ ามองสังคมไทยด้ วยความหมายที่วา่ มา ก็จะต้ องยอมรับว่า ประชาชนไทยส่วนใหญ่ยงั ไม่เป็ น “พลเมือง” วัฒนธรรมการเมืองไทยตังแต่ ้ โบราณ นัน้ “ราชการ” จัดการทุกเรื่ องของราษฎร ทุก วันนี ้รากวัฒนธรรมนี ้ยังยึดครองจิตใต้ ส�ำนึก ของทังคนไทยที ้ ่ถกู ปกครอง และคนไทยที่เป็ น ชนชันปกครอง ้ “ระบบราชการไทย” เกิ ด ขึน้ ตัง้ แต่ส มัย รัชกาลที่ 5 เป็ นต้ นมา และพัฒนาการที่เข้ มแข็ง อย่างต่อเนื่อง ท�ำให้ หน่วยงานเหล่านี ้เข้ ามามี บทบาทแทนที่ประชาชนแทบทุกเรื่ อง จากเดิม ท�ำหน้ าที่เพียงด้ านความมัน่ คงของรัฐ และการ เงินเท่านัน้ ดังจะเห็นได้ จากการเติบโตของส่วน ราชการที่มีอยูท่ กุ พื ้นที่ของประเทศ “สิง่ เหล่านี ้ส่งผลถึงความเป็ นพลเมืองของ คนไทยลดลงเรื่ อยมา คนไทยกลายเป็ นคนที่ เห็นเรื่ องสาธารณะหรื อเรื่ องส่วนร่วมเป็ นเรื่ อง ของคนอื่น หรื อหน่วยงานอื่นที่ต้องท�ำแทนตน โดยเลือกที่จะท�ำตัวเป็ นเพียงผู้รับผลจากการก ระท�ำเท่านัน้ เพราะมีความเคยชินกับการท�ำ แทนของหน่วยงานเหล่านี ้” กลายเป็ นภาพสะท้ อนถึงความมี ประสิทธิภาพการบริ หารราชการแผ่นดินของ รั ฐ บาลแต่ล ะยุค สมัย ถึง แม้ จ ะมี ก ารกระจา ยอ�ำนาจให้ ประชาชนในรูปแบบองค์กรปกครอง ส่วนท้ องถิ่น แต่เป็ นรู ปแบบการขยายอ�ำนาจ ของรั ฐ มากกว่าการท�ำให้ ประชาชนมีความ

เป็ นพลเมือง ส�ำหรับท่านผู้อา่ นที่ตดิ ตามความ เคลื่อนไหวของผม ทังจากบทความนี ้ ้ และโซ เชียลมีเดียอื่นๆ คงเป็ นที่ร้ ูกนั แล้ วว่า “ผมไม่คดิ จะเป็ นนักการเมืองไม่วา่ ระดับชาติหรือท้ องถิน่ ” แต่ที่ผมออกมาขับเคลื่อนกิจกรรมเพื่อ สังคมต่างๆ อย่างต่อเนื่ อง ไม่ว่าจะเป็ นการ ริ เริ่ มโครงการถนนบางลาสะอาด 24 ชัว่ โมง, ก่อตัง้ มูลนิธิพัฒนาป่ าตอง การสนับสนุนติด ตัง้ CCTV เพื่อเฝ้าระวังด้ านความปลอดภัย ของพื ้นที่ป่าตอง, การสนับสนุนโครงการบีชกา ร์ ดหาดป่ าตองให้ ด�ำเนินการต่อเนื่อง และโครง การอื่นๆอีกมากมาย นัน่ ก็เพราะผมมีเจตจ�ำนงที่ชดั เจนในการ เป็ น “พลเมืองที่ดีของท้ องถิ่นบ้ านเกิด” และ ประเทศไทย บทพืน้ ฐานความเชื่ อที่ว่า “เริ่ มที่ตัวเราลงมือท�ำทันที” ทุกวันนี ้ผมไม่ได้ เดินอย่างโดดเดี่ยว หาก แต่มคี นอืน่ ๆ อีกมากมายได้ ก้าวออกมาร่วมเป็ น “พลเมือง” ทีไ่ ม่นงิ่ ดูดาย มีความกระตือรือร้ นใน การลุกขึ ้นมารับผิดชอบต่อกิจการสาธารณะ หรื อส่วนรวม ทังการคิ ้ ด พัฒนา และเข้ าไปมี ส่วนร่ วมในประเด็นที่รัฐจัดท�ำขึ ้น เพื่อให้ เกิด ความเสมอภาค เป็ นธรรม โปร่งใส ตรวจสอบได้ ยินดีต้อนรับ “พลเมือง” ทุกๆ คน ออกมา ร่วมเดินหน้ าไปกับพวกเรา!!

คณะสาวงาม การประกวด Miss Grand Thailand 2018 เก็บตัวท�ำกิจกรรม ที่จงั หวัดภูเก็ต ทางกองประกวด Miss Grand Thailand ก�ำหนด น�ำ มิสแก รนด์จาก 77 จังหวัด ทัว่ ประเทศมาเก็บตัว ณ จังหวัดภูเก็ต ระหว่าง วันที่ 30 มิถนุ ายน ถึง 9 กรกฎาคม 2561 ก่อนกลับไปประกวด Miss Grand Thailand 2018 ที่กรุงเทพมหานคร โดยมีกิจกรรม เพือ่ บ�ำเพ็ญสาธารณประโยชน์ ส่งเสริมการท่องเทีย่ วจังหวัดภูเก็ต เพื่อสังคมชาวภูเก็ต เช่น ร่วมวิ่งรายการ Miss Grand Thailand 2018 Charity Night Run Phuket by Limelight แฟชัน่ โชว์แกรน ด์บนถนนถลางด้ วยชุดพื ้นเมืองทีส่ วยสง่า ยลโฉมด้ วยการเดินเฉิด ฉายบนพรมแดงบนถนนถลาง และเดินแฟชัน่ โชว์ในรอบชุดว่ายน� ้ำ

THE DOMESTIC TERMINAL ON JU

huket International Airport (HKT), Airport of Thailand. Plc. (AOT) launched officially domestic terminal and now ready to welcome all tourists around the world to come to Phuket on June 25th, 2018. Mr. Nitinai Sirismatthakarn, president of Airport of Thailand. Plc. (AOT) along with stuffs of AOT government organizations, airline companies, entrepreneur in Phuket International Airport participated in the launched ceremony at 2nd floor, domestic terminal, Phuket International Airport.

Mr. Nitinai Sirismatthakarn, president of Airport of Thailand. Plc. (AOT) told that AOT proceeded development project (fiscal year 2010 - 2014) consisted of to build international terminal, to renovate domestic terminal, to expand parking area, to build the new cargo, parking lot, and office, and adjust public utility system. HKT opened international terminal in September, 2016. After that the airport also proceeded to develop domestic terminal until ready to open officially. Domestic terminal was opened officially together with facilities, public utility, and international standard security in June 25th, 2018. So the attained project can increase passenger capacity more than the past. Passenger capacity is high until 7,200 passengers in rush hour. And there are 2660 seats.

is 30,339 sq.m. There are 3 floors; comprise of 1st floor, usage area is 12,100 sq.m., is arrival zone where there are arrival area (5,000 sq.m.), baggage claim area (4,200 sq.m.) that the zone has 4 helt. Moreover, arrival area also has been added a bus gate at the north of the building, number 83 – 84 and added to become 6 toilet points (men, women, and disable persons). 2nd floor that domestic terminal was developed is 10,500 sq.m. There is 4,000 sq.m. check-in area consist of 66 check-in counters, baggage detection point with 7 X-ray machines, and departure area, 6,500 sq.m., where there are 7 boarding gates (4 - 10) and bridges, food and convenient stores, facilities, and 5 toilet points (men, women, and disable persons). And 3rd floor, usage area is 3,500 sq.m., compose of convenient stores, food court, airlines lounges and departure area, airlines offices, and 2 toilet points (men, women, and disable persons).

In the last of Mr. Nitinai’s state told that the launched international and renovated domestic terminal cause the development project to be complete.

The project can increase the ability passenger capacity. So the airport can be capacity 20 flights per hour, 12.5 million passengers per year, there can be capacity 6.5 million passangers per year in the past, the passenger capacity of the airport is international terminal that can be capacity about 5 million passengers per year at and domestic terminal that can be capacity about 7.5 million passengers per year.

There are 34 bays, parking for 1,500 cars.

ประกอบด้ วย โถงผู้โดยสารขาเข้ า (Arrival Area) พื ้นที่ประมาณ 5,000 ตารางเมตร โถง รับกระเป๋ าผู้โดยสารขาเข้ า (Baggage Claim Area) พื ้นที่ประมาณ 4,200 ตารางเมตร พร้ อม สายพานล�ำเลียงกระเป๋ า 4 เส้ น นอกจากนี ้ ได้ มีการเพิ่มประตูทางออกส�ำหรับผู้โดยสารขา ออก ( Bus Gate) ทางด้ านทิศเหนือของอาคาร อีก 1 จุด หมายเลข 83 – 84 พร้ อมเพิ่มห้ องน� ้ำ เป็ น 6 จุด (ชาย หญิง และคนพิการ) ส�ำหรับ ชัน้ 2 มี พืน้ ที่ รวมประมาณ 10,500 ตาราง เมตร โดยจากการด�ำเนินการปรับปรุ งอาคาร ผู้โ ดยสาร ท� ำ ให้ มี ห้ อ งโถงเช็ ค อิ น ผู้โ ดยสาร ขาออกเป็ น 4,000 ตารางเมตร ประกอบด้ วย เคาน์เตอร์ เช็คอิน จ�ำนวน 66 เคาน์เตอร์ และ จุดตรวจค้ นสัมภาระติดตัวขึ ้นเครื่ องพร้ อม เครื่ องเอ็กซเรย์ จ�ำนวน 7 เครื่ อง และส�ำหรับ พื ้นที่พกั คอยผู้โดยสารขาออก มีพื ้นที่ 6,500 ตารางเมตร ประกอบด้ วย ประตูทางออกขึ ้น เครื่ องหมายเลข 4 – 10 (Boarding Gate) สะพานเทียบอากาศยานจ�ำนวน 7 ชุด ร้ านค้ า และสิง่ อ�ำนวยความสะดวกแก่ผ้ โู ดยสาร พร้ อม ทังห้ ้ องน� ้ำจ�ำนวน 5 จุด (ชาย หญิง และคน พิการ) และชัน้ 3 เป็ นพื ้นที่ให้ บริ การผู้โดยสาร เป็ น 3,500 ตารางเมตร ประกอบด้ วย ร้ านค้ า พื ้นทีพ่ กั คอย ส�ำนักงานสายการบิน ส่วนบริการ ท่าอากาศยาน และห้ องน� ้ำ 2 จุด (ชาย หญิง และคนพิการ) นายนิตินยั กล่าวในตอนท้ าย ว่า การเปิ ดให้ บริ การอาคารผู้โดยสารระหว่าง ประเทศ และอาคารผู้โดยสารภายในประเทศที่ ปรับปรุงแล้ วเสร็ จ ท�ำให้ โครงการพัฒนา ทภก. (ปี งบประมาณ 2553 – 2557) เสร็จสิ ้นสมบูรณ์ ซึง่ เป็ นการเพิ่มขีดความสามารถในการ รองรับปริมาณการจราจรทางอากาศของ ทภก. โดยสามารถรองรับเที่ยวบินได้ 20 เที่ยวบินต่อ ชัว่ โมง และรองรับผู้โดยสารจากเดิม 6.5 ล้ าน คนต่อปี เป็ น 12.5 ล้ านคนต่อปี แบ่งเป็ นอาคาร ระหว่างประเทศ 5 ล้ านคนต่อปี และอาคารผู้ โดยสารภายในประเทศ 7.5 ล้ านคนต่อปี มีหลุม จอดเพิ่มเป็ น 34 หลุมจอด และที่จอดรถยนต์ สามารถรองรับเพิ่มเป็ น 1,500 คัน

Currency - There are three currencies of here, Thai Baht, Cambodian Riel, and US Dollar but the reasonable currency when you travel at Siem Reap is US Dollar.

Dressing – Siem Reap don’t fix to dress.

While women go to the temple, she mustn’t dress shorts, short skirt, and must dress formal clothes like Thai tradition. For all girls don’t forget to prepare suitable for your trip.

Time zone is similar Thai time zone. You can call to talk with friends or your loves without time worry.

Phone – If someone wanna use internet, we recommend you to buy new sim card at Siem Reap Airport. When you go out of terminal, you will see each shop, which sell sim card, and select the number what you like. The cheapest sim card is Metfone, the unlimited internet is 3 US Dollar per week or approximate about 150 THB. I got more experience than my imagination which makes me impress, there were warmth, smiling, and Siem Reap people welcoming.
