direction towards reform must begin with decentralizing government power and distributing the power to the local government allowing the citizens to make decisions and not fall back into government control.

T

hai Survey Institutions have revealed that over the past 10 years, 6 government salary returns made still did not manage to bring government salary down below the private sector average salary.

In the past, bachelor degree entry level government jobs made less than the private sector salary in 2 out of 3 jobs but now it has risen to over 10%.

No one should be so concerned if the government salary returns are in accordance with the rise in the national average income.

But the truth that few are talking about is how though the Thai government has grown exponentially it has only become less efficient and transparent in the past 10 years.

Thai government employees have increased by 50% while the salary budget has tripled up to 7% of the nations GDP. This is one of the highest percentages in Asia. If we include welfare and benefits we see it amounts to half of the government’s income. Likewise, government officials have doubled with over 1,500 military generals and 500 police generals while most every ministry, department and bureaucracy continue to lavishly grow.

It has been many years already that we’ve been in this “Thailand Reform” phase.

There has been much talk of city reform, police reform, education reform and how the government is going to bring happiness back to the people.

Government solutions have been nothing but creating new laws, new organizations and new authorities which cost a heavy amount of resources.

Therefore, the Thailand reform must evenly distribute power to the local authorities allowing them to manage the basics such as education, health care, environment, disaster relief and so on. We cannot follow the government mindset that “local authorities are corrupt and the public is too stupid to take care of itself.”

But the democracy will see results when it is placed right before their eyes. NIDA POLL REVEALS THAT MOST THAIS DO NOT BELIEVE THAT GENERAL ELECTION WILL TAKE PLACE ON FEBRUARY 2019

he National Institute of Development Administration (NIDA) has recently revealed the poll result of the survey showing that more than 57 percent of Thai citizen do not believed that the general election will take place on February 2019 without any more delays as so far the government has postponed the election date many times already.

The survey has done between May 8 to 9, 2018 on a total of 1,250 citizens

nationwide. All sample are above 18 years old with random career and education.

There is 57.76 percent of the sample claiming they do not believe that the election will take place on the scheduled date since the current situation of Thailand has not yet stable and there have been many postpones so far already. While another 31.68 percent believe that the election will happen that government scheduled date as they think that political situation is now stable. While other10.56 claimed they are not sure.

IRAN VOWS TO RESTART NUCLEAR PROGRAM IF DEAL COLLAPSES

of Technology in Chonburi province were Permanent Secretary for Labor, Jarin Chakkaphark, and representatives from several colleges. The MOU allows participants to work together to enhance the skills of workers by offering suitable classes and training programs.

"NONG YA YA" LINE STICKERS, BRINGING PHUKET TRADITION TO THE ONLINE WORLD

F

or most Phuketians, 'Khun Praew' or Ms. Walaiphat Ruampanpong is known as a member of Phuket Municipality Council Committee who is famous for her community-based work in Phuket Old Town.

Recently, Ms. Walaiphat has invented a LINE sticker called 'Nong Ya Ya' which is a demonstration of Phuket old town culture and way of life.

This sticker has become very popular in LINE application nowadays in Phuket as well as Thailand.

"Actually, my major at the university was IT, and my work is related to community.

So, why not using my IT knowledge as the tool to promote the community? I think this sticker is another creative and effective method to transmit and demonstrate the culture and way of life of local community to the public especially in our current hi-tech society," she said.

Ms. Walaiphat said that Nong Ya Ya sticker has been well prepared and studied, which took her two years to accomplish this work.

"We have to study very carefully about the real and original cultures of the Phuket old town to make sure everything is accurate. We also

have discussed with the experts and old generation people to extract the uniqueness of Phuket before making them into stickers," said Ms. Walaiphat.

"The inspiration of making Nong Ya Ya is the childhood memories of many Phuketians, for example, their daily childhood games such as slider game, the way they ride on their bus when returning home from school, and so many others. Those activities are very beautiful and meaningful which are all considered as cultures and way of life," she added.

Ms. Walaiphat also has expressed her big thanks to everyone who help support her idea and the sticker. She also plans to make the second series of sticker called 'Krob Krua Khon Phuket' or Phuket Family. The initial idea is to demonstrate Phuket customs in male character as well as to promote Phuket Landmark.

The sticker costs only 50 coins or about 35 baht. And she will lead her income from line sticker to support CSR activities in Phuket, she said

And our ECO Tourism gonna show you about the Na Nuea Farm, this is goat farming for both milk and meat, is located in Pa Klog sub-district, Thalang district, Phuket province and one of the place in the tourism root of Bang Rong Conservative Agricultural Tourism. Who was our guide was Khun Prasert Ritraksa, the chief of Baan Bang Rong Conservative Agricultural Tourism Group and who was goat raising’s guru was Kibsie. She gave us the knowledge of goat raising, showed about goat milking, and also taught us to feed milk to kids. In the occasion was baa by all goats and some kids also came to play with us. They made me feel like to fall in love to them, then I wanna pick some kid back with me.

The product from goat are not only milk and beat, but also processed goat milk product such as shower cream, body lotion, hand cream, and more than. Moreover, the price of them is very cheap but they are also high quality product.

THE SAVANNAH OF THAILAND Patience with peace

W

hen I still trust God, with chronic pain. Even the little things come in. It makes me feel like a bad enemy. The first problem is right in front. The second problem pushed back. The third problem sting At this time When it is receding and not alleviating it. Running and hiding will be good. But because I can not escape the pain and change the situation. I do not care about my feelings, so I slowly learn to trust God to lead me through.

hinking of a Savannah will make you imagine of a woodland grassland ecosystem where there are full of nature and animals. You might not believe that the Savannah would exist in Thailand, but it actually is. The place is called Koh Phra Thong, which is an island located in Phang Nga province of Southern Thailand. Due to its rather character, the island has so far attracted a lot researchers coming to study the island’s ecosystem.

When i need encouragement Comfort and courage I will read and meditate on the psalms in which the author describes his own situation with God openly. hao King Je Pui is one of the old and famous Thai food restaurant in Yaowarat area of Bangkok where everyone who visit Bangkok should not miss. The unique of this shop is that there are no table in restaurant, they have chairs. The foods served in restaurant are Thai style foods called ‘Khao Keng’ which you choose whatever food you like to put on rice.

The taste of the food in this restaurant has become a legend where there is always a long line everyday waiting for the food.
