From Russia With Moscow Born Olga Volodina is on a Mi Page 16 www.bangkokscene.com

h a Love of Photos ission to Illustrate Her Life Philosophies

From Moscow To Bangkok When Olga Volodina was working as a model in Moscow, she found herself becoming more and more interested in the methods of the whole photographic process, and it wasn t long before she was dabbling in the art herself. Knowledge of the fashion industry helped her enormously when she finally decided to step from one side of the camera to the other. After several successful photo shoots her insatiable lust for insights into life itself led her to move overseas: Destination Thailand. Two years living the idyll on the southern paradise island of Koh Phangan led her to crave the bright lights once again, and a move to Bangkok ensued. Olga has resided in the capital for the last two years, photographing projects that are dear to her heart, and undertaking fashion shoots for commercial purposes. Her first exhibition, Woman Touch, was staged recently at V64 Art Gallery and proved a huge success, providing an interactive handson experience for gallery goers. I have so many ideas and I need to say so many things about life, the energetic Olga enthused, about the relationships between men and women, about the treatment of animals by the cosmetic industry, and so much more. I sometimes wish I had been born an artist so I could just use a brush and paper to express my emotions, but I have now mastered the skills of photoshop and I enjoy building up a working liaison with my subjects. Her next projects include a projection based series on different nationalities, and she is determined that the focus of one of her next photographic essays is about animal rights. Samples of her work, from Russia and from Thailand, are presented on the following pages. VIVA Bangkok has concentrated mostly on Olga s commercial work, but you can view her more artistic images on her facebook page. Olga s Albums. Words and photos of Olga in Bangkok by Paul Hutton.
