Jaguar’s New Playmate
Sleek Lines Unveiled at Central Embassy City Automobiles, Jaguar Land Rover’s authorised distributor in Thailand announced the official arrival of Jaguar’s breathtakingly hard-edged All New F-TYPE Coupé , an incredibly focused hard-top version of the ‘2013 World Car Design of the Year’-winning F-TYPE Convertible, at a glamorous unveiling ceremony at Central Embassy in Bangkok. Combining an uncompromised supercar mantra of “Come Alive” with contemporary British style and sophistication, the All New F-TYPE Coupé epitomises aggression, power and indomitable spirit, in a sharply tailored suit. Performance is shattering, with the range-topping F-TYPE R Coupé delivering a 680Nm adrenaline hit, and over 300KM/h. The entry level V6 to the top speed F-TYPE R Coupé feature all-aluminium construction and the stiffest chassis ever featured in a production of Jaguar, hauling its beautiful silhouette to 100KM/h in 4.2 seconds, with a scintillating soundtrack to match. Visual appeal is fundamental to Jaguar, and as such the All New F-TYPE Coupé embodies the uncompromised design vision of the stunning Jaguar C-X16 concept sports Coupé, its dramatic cabin-rearward stance being defined by three heartlines. It is from the twin ‘shark gill’ openings that sit either side of the grille that the essential first heart line flows and begins to take shape.
The Coupé’s second heartline, also shared with the Convertible, begins at the rear edge of the door, swelling outwards and upwards to create a visually strong wheelarch, emphasising the car’s rear-wheel drive layout, before dropping vertically through the tail lamp. The third heart line is the sweeping Coupé roof profile which provides an unbroken silhouette while emphasising the visual drama of the tapered cabin sitting between powerful rear haunches. Jaguar’s expertise in aluminium technology has enabled the design vision for the All New F-TYPE Coupé to be delivered in a lightweight yet extremely strong chassis and body shell. The All New F-TYPE Coupé’s body side is made from a single piece aluminium pressing, probably the most extreme cold-formed aluminium body side in the automotive industry. Torsional rigidity for all variants is 33,000 Nm/degree – greater than in any previous production of Jaguar. The All New F-TYPE Coupé is the most dynamically capable, performance-focused sports car that Jaguar has ever produced. The car’s pure sporting credentials are reinforced by a raft of trackderived equipment and innovative technology, all aimed at giving the
driver the most electrifying experience possible, with next-gen Electronic Active Differential and Torque Vectoring enhance agility and handling going into curves while a Carbon Ceramic Matrix braking system featuring 398/380mm discs front/rear offers tarmac-rippling stopping power and absolute consistency of performance and excellent fade resistance, as well as a total unsprung-weight saving of 21kg. The new model represents the pinnacle of the F-TYPE range. Powered by Jaguar’s 5.0-litre supercharged petrol V8 all-aluminium engine in 550PS and 680Nm form, the F-TYPE R Coupé achieves headline figures of 0-96KM/h in 4.0-seconds with an electronically limited top speed of 299KM/h, 80-120KM/h taking a mere 2.4-seconds. Secondly, the F- TYPE S Coupé is powered by Jaguar’s 3.0 V6 Supercharged petrol engine, propelling it from 0-100KM/h in 4.9 seconds and on to a top speed of 275 KM/h. Revolving around the seductive and emotional appeal of Jaguar cars, the new campaign speaks of Jaguar’s confidence and its progressive spirit. Most of all, it is a demonstration of how each Jaguar car is built to be truly “Alive” in every aspect. As part of the campaign, Jaguar has collaborated with three game-changers from different fields who share Jaguar’s passion and drive. “Alive” focuses on three key senses: Design, which is exemplified by famed film director Aditya Assarat; Innovation, which is embodied by Ian Kittichai, Thailand’s most renowned chef; Performance, which is personified by acclaimed dancer Pichet Klunchun a.k.a. “Khon Performance.” These brand friends were chosen for their dedication to delivering passionate works which inspire others, and epitomise Jaguar’s vision of what it means to feel “Alive”, setting the perfect tone for the All New F-TYPE Coupé, a car designed to excite the senses in every way. Jaguar Land Rover General Manager Richard Haigh said “Jaguar Land Rover is dedicated to growing its market position and customer base in Thailand, and is committed to launching one important new model every year in the Thai market. 2014 witnesses the birth of the All New F-TYPE Coupé, an important model for the brand as it represents a push into the very high performance market by Jaguar. This F-TYPE Coupé is the most dynamically capable, performance-focused production Jaguar ever represents the apex of innovation. The All New F-TYPE Coupé promises to satisfy each customer’s needs for styling and craftsmanship, performance and design. Moreover, the All New Jaguar F-TYPE Coupé serves clients who are heavily motivated by distinctive styling, performance and handling; these are car and driving enthusiasts, who are knowledgeable about cars, love driving and find every opportunity to indulge their passion. It is truly a car for any occasion.

The park is also home to Asia’s largest aqua playground, Cartoonival, which features over 150 interactive elements specially designed for children, such as curly slides, fountains, tubes, and two 1,000 liter giant tipping-buckets.
A Shopper’s Paradise at Siam Square One Opened in June, Siam Square One is among the latest additions to the Bangkok shopping mall scene. A total of 50 street elephants will take part in this year’s tournament, during which they are well fed, provided with a native forest environment, and receive essential vitamin supplements, full veterinary checks and care for the duration of the event. Street life and ‘unemployment’ can be tough for an elephant, walking through crowded tourist areas and busy roads for ten hours a night, forced to rest during the day on small green spaces within the cities, often without shade and water. The King’s Cup schedule is deliberately designed to give these elephants rest and relaxation on a scale they are never afforded in their ‘normal’ lives. Due to the popularity of the tournament the event is moving from the Royal seaside town of Hua Hin to take place this year at the Siam Polo Park at VR Sports Club in Bangkok. The four day festival will have something for everyone including an impressive opening parade, Children’s Day, Ladies Day and wide a range of fun elephant related activities for the whole family.

All the celebrity designed elephants will be displayed at the King’s Cup Elephant Polo pitch prior to the final auction at a gala dinner at Anantara Bangkok Riverside on 29th August.

Morning Glory Resort and Bakery: A Just a Hop, Skip and a Jump from Ratchaburi
Nestled in a secluded location at the end of a winding track just two or three minutes from the centre of tourist town Suan Phueng, Morning Glory Resort provides a back to nature retreat for city weary travellers. Not only does the resort boast marvellous sweeping views of the surrounding hills, but it also is home to a burgeoning rabbit community. The entire region of Suan Phueng is known as animal country, but it is more renowned for domesticated fauna as opposed to wild breeds. A multitude of rambling resorts can be found here, many with their own wildlife stocks on the premises. Suan Phueng is home to sheep farms, horse and cattle ranches, goat pens, alpaca sanctuaries and duck ponds, all set among rolling hillsides around the town itself, with trickling streams and manicured European gardens adding to the appeal. A secret getaway just two hours from Bangkok, this region is popular with Thai nationals, and has been discovered by a few Japanese tourists in the know, but is rarely found by western travellers exploring the more well-trodden tourist trails. Or maybe the Mediterranean themes of many of the resorts is considered just too close to home. Whatever the reason, many Europeans are missing out on natural attractions that include the Sirikit Forest Garden, the Som Maew Rapids, the Gao Jone Waterfalls and the Bo Klueng Hot Springs. Weekend travellers are advised to book in advance however, as this region is very popular with Bangkokians wanting to get away from the rat race for a couple of days. Morning Glory itself is a great place for petting the aforementioned rabbits, swimming in the full sized pool, hiking, cycling or just lazing back and enjoying

It delivers great driving performance with the highest fuel savings of its kind at 23.6 kilometres per litre*. The launch of new Honda Accord Hybrid today marks a milestone in premium hybrid automobiles, with many innovations that make everything possible. The highlights include: An advanced full hybrid powertrain, the Sport Hybrid Intelligent Multi-Mode Drive (i-MMD). It is powered by a 2.0 litre Atkinson-Cycle DOHC i-VTEC 4-cylinder “Earth Dreams Technology” engine. Exclusively developed only for the hybrid system, the engine offers 143 horsepower and torque of 165 Newton-meters at 4,500 rpm. It works with two motors that provide 169 horsepower and torque of 307 Newton-meters; an E-CVT transmission; and an ultra-high 1.3 kilowatt-hour lithium-ion battery that has better performance for electricity transmission and generation. This provides longer and continuous driving output in EV drive mode. The ultimate performance full hybrid system combines enjoyable driving with high responsiveness and exceptional fuel economy. Other outstanding features are a power and charge meter, Eco Coaching that enhances fuel economy driving performance, and an ECON Mode button that controls and maximizes the efficiency of fuel consumption. The engine is E20 fuel compatible. The new Honda Accord Hybrid has three drive modes that can be changed to fit all driving conditions: 1. EV Drive Mode - The motors use the electricity from the battery to turn the drive wheels. During deceleration, the motors regenerate and supply electricity to the battery. EV Drive delivers the exceptional performance and quietness of an electric car, ideal for the city driving environment. 2. Hybrid Drive Mode - This drive mode uses electricity generated by the gasoline engine combined with electricity from the battery to turn the motors and provide maximum torque and instantly responsive acceleration. During deceleration, the engine stops and regenerates electricity. Hybrid Drive offers smooth, powerful acceleration and is ideal for accelerating when driving. 3. Engine Drive Mode - Engine Drive uses the gasoline engine to provide driving power directly. The lock-up clutch in the E-CVT transmission directly links the output axis of the gasoline engine with the drive axis of the vehicle. It provides high efficiency and low friction and makes constant high-speed cruising possible. Exterior design expresses unmatched luxury in every detail. The new Honda Accord Hybrid is more modern with blue-framed LED headlights, LED taillights, and a Clear Blue accented front grill. The spacious interior has a full range of equipment with premium functions. The range of equipment includes an intelligent control audio system, a navigation system, wireless phone connection, an Intelligent Multi-Information Display (i-MID), a multifunction steering wheel with mounted controls supporting many functions at your fingertips, and Interface Dial touch screen.
