Hello Key-uties <3 Salutations to the New Year and as we blazed (pun intended) our way through 2015 full of service, fundraisers, laughs, memories, and more. I hope each and everyone of you had a wonderful holiday break and is ready for another week back from that two-week vacation. Anyways, as you all know, Friday was the cut-off date for hours and it's imperative that you strived to reach the minimum for DCON, because we're now finalizing our list of DCON attendees and paperwork, as well as other details will soon be announced. Don't be discouraged, we have lots of plans for those of you unable to attend, didn't make the minimum, etc. Thank you to those that came to the Potluck meeting over break, one of our first ever (I believe?); a great experience and pleasure to get closer to everyone. As you all know, I am the only Senior on the board, therefore I would like to make this year an unforgettable one. It's been a great 3 1/2 years and Key Club made up most of those memories I have so far. My fellow Seniors, it's the final stretch with 5 months and 1 day to go till we mark the end of this chapter sporting our white and blue, wearing our crowns with pride, moving our tassel to the other side, and leave for the next chapter of our lives. "WE’RE KIND OF A B16 DEAL", being Seniors, so continue to work hard in order to achieve your goals and dreams. So, for the remainder of my term, I will do the best of my abilities to provide events, information, memories, advice, everything within my power to make sure this club stays how it is; a family. Thank you everyone so far that's been a part of this organization, helping me stay on my feet, cause y'all are toasty hot đ&#x;”Ľ (pun intended), and creating awesome memories for mine and the other seniors final chapter in Key Club and high school. DAYS LEFT TILL DCON: ➅➆ DAYS LEFT TILL GRADUATION: ➀➄➠In Love and Caring Service, Kimberly Ly

What’s one of your new year’s resolutions?

Well one of them is starting to eat healthier and more protein, the reason is because I want to be more healthier and no more doctor rants.

Our Key Clubbers spent the beginning of December going down memory lane and sorting books for Scholastic’s annual book fair. Not only that but we raised over $400 worth of books to buy for the kids! Then as the holidays started to roll around, a handful of us volunteered for “The Forgotten Children’s Fund” by choosing a “forgotten” family and wrapping presents for them. We went into winter break VOLUNTEERING! Key Clubbers sacrificed their vacation time to contribute in Northwest Harvest’s food packaging for underprivileged families. They unloaded, taped, and packaged beans and pasta.. Not only did we volunteer over break but the officers hosted a potluck club meeting where we ate, listened to music, talked about our daily key club events, and played Jeopardy! The last thing the officers planned for everyone was a joint fundraiser with Kentwood Key Club where we give you guys the opportunity to buy or make your own :hug me: signs for DCON. What a great month of service Key Clubbers!
