JFK PRESIDENTIAL LIBRERY / I. M. PEI Architect: Architects I. M. Pei Location: Boston, USA Cost: Size: 15.236 sqm Year: 1979 A circulatory system leads the viewer through a relatively dense memorial and archive of the life and political career of the late president. This constrained experience is followed by a dark yet still relatively confined space of the theater where the occupant is shown a brief biographical film. From these tight spaces a new form emerges at the end of the defined path. A large, aerated, open cube volume allows for a period of reflectance.

LIBRARY AND DOCUMENT CENTER Architect: Penin Architects Location: Valencia, Spain Cost: 6.865.828 € Size: 7.523 sqm Year: 2009 A place of relationship and reflection. From the constant concern for scale, we find a succession of great public spaces – from the square, patio and access to others more private, refined and proper uses. The organization of a hybrid program means to establish a system of patios as an easy identification system.
