DOCUMENTATION CENTER
Location: Milan, Italy Year: 2018 / 2019
Architectural Design Studio | Politecnico di Milano Professors: Pier Paolo Tamburelli, Fabrizia Berlingieri, Alessandro Carrera Team: Daria Pilipak, Tatiana Levitskaya, Vivi Hรถrkkรถ
The project area is located close to the central area of Milan. Existing urban plot with the size 26 per 16 meters was having only 2 open sides: on the North and the East. Urban tissue in this part of the town is characterized by a highly organized grid of residential blocks and streets. That is why it was important to emphasize the existing facade line and rhythm of the historic road. The mass volume of the new documentation center is clear and laconic. It consists of a block with the last two floors lowered in a diagonal direction. This approach not only allowed to have a wide-open terrace hidden from the noisy street, but also to have different facade performances while moving along the street. The building has vertical gradation from open public exhibitions space to intimate area of archive zone on the upper floors. Project construction systems and materials were dedicated to highlighting the complicated topic of an archive documenting the history of fascism. 6

LAMBRATE DISTRICT
Location: Milan, Italy Year: 2019 / 2020
Urban Design Studio | Politecnico di Milano Professors: Marika Fior, Laura Pogliani Team: Edoardo Fiorica, Fabio Lutti, Daria Pilipak
Nowadays the Lambrate district is going through changes: old industrial manufacturers are closing and moving outside the city while new public areas are taking their places. In the new masterplan, it was a crucial issue to include Lambrate to an active life of Milan and solve the problem of the cut by exiting railway on the West side of territory and by the highway on the East. Urban planning propose was based on the extensive study of the area. The strategy of further development went through strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats analysis.
20
Integration of a slow mobility system and new green recreation public zones allowed to connect the whole area not only inside neighborhoods but also created links between district and city. Project infrastructure facilities lead to the improvement of life quality in Lambrate.

CONCEPT Urban propose is to stitch these two polarizing morphologies together and requalify the space in-between. The thread: slow mobility. In the space or periphery between CITY and COUNTY, we will define several pockets. They will be characterized by function and activity. Between these pockets, we will establish; improve, or confirm connections between them. We will use two green shoulders which will run along the two main boundaries, the railway overpass, and the highway, as structuring devices.
2

3 PROJECT If we look at this on a LOCAL layer: Surrounding activities and functions will give definition to the pockets, and nodal points. These different functions and activities will be connected to nodal points along with our slow mobility network. Please note, these functions and activities are located in CITY, periphery and COUNTRY. This local layer of connection will also help us with our aim of stitching these two morphologies together.

BINASCO CASTLE
Year: 2018 / 2019
Architectural Preservation Studio | Politecnico di Milano Professors: Davide Del Curto, Alessandro Bianchi Team: Anastasia Novoseltseva, Bingshuo Wang, Daria Pilipak, Edoardo Frontini, Feng Di, Kajetan Swieczkowski, Maja Ghannoum, U. Ulas Polat Binasco is located halfway along the road connecting Milano to Pavia. Its position has always been considered strategic and this is the reason why Binasco has represented and still represents a reference point for the neighboring towns. The Binasco Castle is situated in the city center and together with the main church and with porches of Via Matteotti, it forms the beating heart of the social, cultural, and political life.
34
The main aim of the preservation project was the inclusion of new infrastructure facilities in the Castle space which was leading to the ability to have a more close connection between historical monument and citizens of Binasco. By the proposed masterplan, the area around building consists of variable function: calm recreation zone, children playground, fountain, and dog area. All new elements are delicately integrated into the existing historical context.

Binasco Castle
In the year 1400 in the iner courtyard of the castle was located the tower. Lately is was demolished. In our project we propose to create the new metaphorical volume to make the visitor think about its purpose and ask a question about the history of this space. The tower serve also as “lighthouse. It creates a high light stream in the evening attracting people to the city centre and setting an atmosphere inside the courtyard which can be used for several events. The tower is made of thin steel beams and transparent polycarbonate. The electric devices are located in the bottom part of it.

MINI LIVING
Year: 2019
Mini Living Future Urban Home Competition | Dezeen magasizine / MINI Team: Anastasia Novoseltseva, Daria Pilipak
More young people will move to the big cities to study or work and the demand for the cheap mini housing will grow. However, this kind of apartments should have all the necessary things to make comfortable the life of a person at the beginning of the career. We propose to use the old sea containers as the transformer living mini-modules. There will be organized a fully equipped bathroom, kitchen, bedroom and the working space. The modules will be placed into a timber-frame structure that will become a solid urban unit. Such structures will fill empty spaces in the unfilled urban grid, for example between the houses or on the rooftop. This approach will help to increase the density and create the new type of an affordable housing. In addition, the life rhythm becomes faster and the migration inside the future city should become easier. For this task the mini living cell is convenient to transport to a new location. We expect the structure with mobile mini cells to be highly demanded and successfully used in different places in the dynamic world in future when flexibility and independence will completely become a new lifestyle. 48
