Roger Thornhill & Brad Nix

Lift high the palms of praise! Hosanna! Hosanna! Sing out! Prepare the way! Hosanna! Hosanna! As He slowly rides along, people shout a joyful song. Now we add our voices strong, hosanna to the King. Lift high the palms of praise! Hosanna! Hosanna! Sing out! Prepare the way! Hosanna! Hosanna! Let the people now rejoice. All creation find her voice. Come and make a joyful noise, hosanna to the King! Open wide the gates of every heart. Wave the palms and let the celebration start. With our strength, God’s glory we proclaim. With our might, we praise His holy name! Lift high the palms of praise! Hosanna! Hosanna! Sing out! Prepare the way! Hosanna! Hosanna! He is David’s royal Son. He is heaven’s holy One. Oh, what wonders He has done, hosanna to the King. Hosanna to the King!

† PRAYER OF THE DAY

† PRAYER OF CONFESSION Rev. Drumheller

Merciful God, as we enter this Holy Week, solemnly gathered at your house of prayer, we turn our hearts toward Jerusalem. We want to walk the way with Jesus, to be present each step from the Mount of Olives to the cross to the empty tomb. And yet we fall away. Forgive our stubborn resistance to Christ’s work and witness. Inspire us by your Spirit to follow in his way, until we enter with him into the city not made by human hands, the new Jerusalem, eternal in the heavens. May your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

† AFFIRMATION OF FAITH Philippians 2:5-11

We believe in Jesus Christ, who, though he existed in the form of God, did not regard equality with God as something to be grasped but emptied himself, taking the form of a slave, assuming human likeness. And being found in appearance as a human, he humbled himself and became obedient to the point of death - even death on a cross. Therefore, God exalted him even more highly and gave him the name that is above every other name, so that at the name given to Jesus every knee should bend, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. Amen.

† THE PEACE

One: The peace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Many: And also with you.

C. Smart and H. Helvey Hosanna! People of all lands, unite your voices, lift your hands, and to the Lord repair, and thankful fall upon your face, and hail with songs the throne of grace, and show your gladness there. Yourselves in this belief confirm that man, his talent and his term, are God’s and not his own; we are the flock he folds and feeds with milk and honey in his meads, the Lord is God alone. For race by race he is renowned for mercies which to peace abound, in truth reveal’s and taught; and gracious is the Lord of love, above all estimate, above the flight of time and thought. O go, but send your song before, into his courts, his temple door, his name in anthems raise give thanks the soul’s immortal food, and speak him great, and speak him good, your hearts with rapture blaze.

† PRESENTATION OF THE GIFTS
