INTROIT The Gift of Love
Rev. Potter
Lloyd Larson
Though I may speak with bravest fire, and have the gift to all inspire, and have not love; my words are vain, as sounding brass, and hopeless gain. Though I may give all I possess, and striving so my love profess, but not be given by love within, the profit soon turns strangely thin. Come, spirit, come, our hearts control; our spirits long to be made whole. Let inward love guide every deed. By this, we worship and are freed.

† CALL TO WORSHIP Barb
NeffOne: The psalmist encourages us to praise God for all the marvelous things God has done.
Many: We join with all creation in praise, for God's love and faithfulness to us is endless.
One: We sing because God chooses us out of God's great love.
Many: We choose God's love, which bears us in fullness beyond compare.
† HYMN 263 All Hail the Power of Jesus’ Name! CORONATION
† PRAYER OF CONFESSION Rev. Potter
O God of mercy, you have commanded us to abide in your love. We confess our failure to love you and our neighbor. And the truth is, we even fail to love ourselves. Forgive us we pray. Enable us to see each other, and ourselves, as your beloved children. Help us abide in, and be nourished by, your lavish love, that we may bear fruit in a world starving for justice, love and mercy. In Jesus Christ hear the prayers of our hearts.
SILENCE FOR PERSONAL CONFESSION
One: Into the wilderness of our sin God sent Jesus. In him we are forgiven through his death and resurrection.
Many: God's mercy covers our sin and we are no longer slaves to the past. Thanks be to God. † GLORIA GLORIA PATRI

† AFFIRMATION OF FAITH Romans 8
We believe there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus; and we know that in everything, God works for good with those who love him, who are called according to his purpose. We are sure that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord. Amen.
One: The peace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all.
Many: And also with you.
