† PRAYER OF CONFESSION
O Lord of mystery, we know that a house divided cannot stand, yet we continue to sow division in our friendships, in our families, and in our communities. Forgive our contrary natures, we ask. Forgive our selfish concern that gets in the way of the common welfare. Call us again to do your will. Call us again to recognize as family others who also seek your will. Call us to build your kingdom in unity, that the house of your justice and mercy may rise strong and true, giving shelter to all people. Hear our heart-felt prayers offered in silence.

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost; as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen, Amen.

† AFFIRMATION OF FAITH Apostles’ Creed
I believe in God the Father almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ his only Son, our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; he descended into hell; the third day he rose again from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost; the holy catholic church; the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body; and the life everlasting. Amen.
† THE PEACE
One: The peace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Many: And also with you.

ANTHEM His Eye Is on the Sparrow Hal Hopson
Why should I feel discouraged, why should shadows come, why should my heart be lonely and long for heaven and home when Jesus is my portion? My constant friend is he: his eye is on the sparrow, and I know he watches me; his eye is on the sparrow, and I know he watches me. I sing because I’m happy, I sing because I’m free, for his eye is on the sparrow, and I know he watches me. “Let not your heart be troubled,” his tender word I hear, and resting on his goodness, I lose my doubts and fears; though by the path he leadeth, but one step I may see: his eye is on the sparrow, and I know he watches me; his eye is on the sparrow, and I know he watches me. I sing because I’m happy; I sing because I’m free, for his eye is on the sparrow, and I know he watches me. Whenever I am tempted, whenever clouds arise, when song gives place to sighing, when hope within me dies, I draw the closer to him; from care, he sets me free; his eye is on the sparrow, and I know he watches me; his eye is on the sparrow, and I know he watches me. I sing because I’m happy, I sing because I’m free; for his eye is on the sparrow, and I know, O yes, I know he watches me.
