PRAYER OF PREPARATION
Triune God, shepherd of your people, Israel, you provide for us far more than we expect or imagine possible. Calm our fears; speak peace to us; lead us beyond ourselves. Gather us with all the saints in the church to glorify you for your mighty deeds.
VOLUNTARY Soul, Adorn Yourself with Gladness Johann Crüger, arr. by Donald Busarow (Please use the opening voluntary as a time of silent meditation and preparation for worship.)

CALL TO WORSHIP from Ephesians 4:1-6
One: Let us live a life worthy of the calling to which we have been called;
Many: let us live with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, making every effort to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.
One: There is one body and one Spirit, just as we were called to the one hope of our calling,
Many: one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who is above all and through all and in all.
One: Let us worship God!
† HYMN 511 Come, Behold! the Feast of Heaven LLANFAIR
† PRAYER OF CONFESSION
Jesus calls us to enter the joy of discipleship, the joy of following in his way. But sin clings closely, and we struggle to respond fully to Christ’s invitation. Let us seek God’s forgiveness so that we may know more deeply the joy God intends.
SILENCE FOR PERSONAL CONFESSION

† ASSURANCE OF PARDON
One: God relentlessly seeks us out with abundant grace and boundless mercy. This is good news!
Many: In Jesus Christ, we are forgiven!

† AFFIRMATION OF FAITH from Colossians 1:15-20
Jesus Christ is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation; in him all things in heaven and on earth were created, things visible and invisible. All things have been created through him and for him. He himself is before all things, and in him all things hold together. Jesus Christ is head of the body, the church; he is the beginning, the firstborn of the dead so that he might come to have first place in everything. For in him all the fullness of God was pleased to dwell, and through him God was pleased to reconcile all things, whether on earth or in heaven, by making peace through the blood of his cross. Amen.
† THE PEACE
One: The peace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Many: And also with you.

ANTHEM Great Is Thy Faithfulness
Thomas Chisholm, arr. by Tom Trenney
Great is thy faithfulness, O God my Father; there is no shadow of turning with thee. Thou changest not; thy compassions they fail not. As thou hast been, thou forever wilt be. Great is thy faithfulness! Great is thy faithfulness! Morning by morning, new mercies, I see. All I have needed thy hand hath provided. Great is thy faithfulness, Lord unto me! Summer and winter, and springtime and harvest, sun, moon, and stars in their courses above join with all nature in manifold witness to thy great faithfulness, mercy, and love. Great is thy faithfulness! Great is thy faithfulness! Morning by morning, new mercies I see. All I have needed thy hand hath provided. Great is thy faithfulness, Lord unto me! Pardon for sin and a peace that endureth, thine own dear presence to cheer and to guide, strength for today and bright hope for tomorrow: blessings all mine, with ten thousand beside! Great is thy faithfulness! Great is thy faithfulness! Great is thy faithfulness! Great is thy faithfulness! Morning by morning, new mercies I see. All I have needed thy hand hath provided. Great is thy faithfulness! Great is thy faithfulness! Great is thy faithfulness! Lord unto me!
