PRAYER OF PREPARATION
Holy God of wind and song, tune our hearts that we might each join the chorus of saints and angels in eternity. Receive our voices as together we raise a new melody to you today. Amen.

CALL TO WORSHIP
One: Full of honor and majesty are the works of the Lord,
Many: and his righteousness endures forever.
One: He provides food for those who fear him;
Many: he is ever mindful of his covenant.
One: He has shown his people the power of his works, Many: in giving them the heritage of the nations.
One: The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom.
Many: Let us offer praise forevermore.
Our Prayers
† PRAYER OF CONFESSION
God of our own flesh and blood, we confess that we fail to come to the spiritual feast you have prepared. We settle for what our ancestors ate, and become bloated with injustice, hungover by unrighteousness, and unsatisfied by empty pieties. Seeking after prestige and worldly riches, we do not follow you with trust in what you’ve accomplished and do not open ourselves to new understanding. Lord Jesus Christ, give us ears to listen, eyes to see, minds to understand, and appetites to receive the sufficient provision of your own life.

† HYMN 407 Spirit Divine, Attend
NUN DANKET ALL’ UND BRINGET EHR’

† ASSURANCE OF PARDON
One: For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him may not perish but may have eternal life.
Many: Indeed, God did not send the Son into the world to condemn the world but in order that the world might be saved through him. Thanks be to God.
† GLORIA
GLORIA PATRI
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost; as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen, Amen.

† AFFIRMATION OF FAITH
from John 1 He was in the world, and the world came into being through him, yet the world did not know him. He came to what was his own, and his own people did not accept him. But to all who received him, who believed in his name, he gave power to become children of God, who were born, not of blood or of the will of the flesh or of the will of man, but of God.
† THE PEACE
One: The peace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Many: And also with you.

ANTHEM How Can I Keep From Singing Diane Tuiofu My life flows on in endless song; above earth’s lamentation, I hear the sweet ΄tho far-off hymn that hails a new creation. Through all the tumult and the strife, I hear the music ringing; it finds an echo in my soul; how can I keep from singing? What ΄tho my joys and comfort die? The Lord, my Savior liveth, What ΄tho the darkness gather round? Songs in the night He giveth. No storm can shake my inmost calm, While to that Refuge clinging; Since Christ is Lord of heaven and earth, How can I keep from singing? I lift mine eyes, the cloud grows thin, I see the blue above it, And day by day this pathway smooths, Since first I learned to love it. The peace of Christ makes fresh my heart, A fountain ever springing, All things are mine since I am His; How can I keep from singing?
