In the justice for the oppressed, in the unexpected generosity for the lost: We are given enough compassion to use in service each day.

In the promises made to all, in the mercy offered to each: We are given enough grace to share each day.

In the community of our congregation, today and every day: Let us worship the triune God.

† PRAYER OF CONFESSION It seems we cannot decide, God of glory. We say we will live to serve others but end up meeting only our needs. We claim to live in a way that honors Christ, but we do not take him to work, school, home. We believe that the gospel can transform lives (at least, for those who need it – but surely, not us). Forgive us, gracious God. Instead of grumblers, may we be ambassadors of grace. Instead of continual complaining, may we carry compassion to the hurting. Instead of whiners, may we be workers with Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, to reach out and share the kingdom of God with everyone we meet.

FLOWER DEDICATION The flowers at the pulpit are given to the glory of God and in loving memory of her parents, William G. and Evelyn M. Carson by Christine Filipovich, and in loving memory of husband and father, Dennis Filipovich by Christine and Elizabeth Filipovich.

The Rev. Dr. Kent Carter currently serves as a full-time chaplain with Asana Hospice in Harrisburg, PA. Before joining this hospice team, Kent served the Progress-Immanuel Presbyterian Church in Carlisle Presbytery for almost 12 years. Kent celebrated 25 years of ordained ministry last month. Kent enjoys being married, Dad to three children, hiking, biking, gardening, traveling, BBQing, and brewing.

ANNOUNCEMENTS AND NOTICES COVID-19 UPDATE In the past few weeks, Central Pennsylvania counties have reached a high positivity rate of COVID 19 transmission. In compliance with The PA Dept of Health, the session recommends that all individuals, no matter their vaccination status, wear masks in public indoor settings where there is a substantial or high transmission rate. Session asks worshipers to comply with these guidelines in consideration of the well-being of children, the immunocompromised, and others who are not eligible to receive the vaccine.
