† LITANY FOR EASTER

One: This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.

Many: Alleluia! The Lord is risen indeed!

One: This is the good news we have received, in which we stand and by which we are saved:

Many: Alleluia! The Lord is risen indeed!

One: That Christ died for our sins and was buried and rose again on the third day.

Many: Alleluia! The Lord is risen indeed!

One: He appeared to Peter, and to the twelve, and to many faithful witnesses.

Many: Alleluia! The Lord is risen indeed!

One: At last, he came to us, that we might come to believe and proclaim this good news to the world.

Many: Alleluia! The Lord is risen indeed!

One: O God, you gave your only Son to suffer death on the cross for our redemption, and by his glorious resurrection, you delivered us from the power of death. Grant us so to die daily to sin, that we may live with him in the joy of his resurrection.

Many: Amen.

† PRAYER OF THE DAY

† PRAYER OF CONFESSION

Rev. Matt Drumheller

Almighty God, in raising Jesus from the grave, you shattered the power of sin and death. We confess that we remain captive to doubt and fear, bound by the ways that lead to death. We overlook the poor and the hungry and pass by those who mourn. We are deaf to the cries of the oppressed and indifferent to calls for peace. We despise the weak and abuse the earth you made. Forgive us, God of mercy. Help us to trust your power to change our lives and make us new. May we know the joy of life abundantly given in Jesus Christ, the risen Lord.

† ASSURANCE OF PARDON

RESPONDING TO THE WORD

† AFFIRMATION OF FAITH Apostle s’ Creed

I believe in God, the Father almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ his only Son, our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; he descended into hell; the third day he rose again from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost; the holy catholic church; the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body; and the life everlasting. Amen.

† THE PEACE

One: The peace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Many: And also with you.

ANTHEM Arisen Is the Good Shepherd K. Lee Scott Arisen is the Good Shepherd, the one who gave his life for the sheep; sing alleluia, alleluia, the Lord is risen again. Into our world of grief and pain, a realm of hardship sin and shame, the Son from highest heaven came to seek and save the lost. Arisen is the Good Shepherd, Good Shepherd, the one who gave his life for the sheep; sing alleluia, alleluia, the Lord is risen again. He lived among us here below and knew the depths of human woe, the paths of life that we may know; he guides us to his fold. Arisen is the Good Shepherd, Good Shepherd, the one who gave his life for the sheep; sing alleluia, alleluia, the Lord is risen again. In the deepness of the night, when he beheld our darkest plight, he bore for us death’s dreadful smite and dies that we might live. Arisen is the Good Shepherd, Good Shepherd, the one who gave his life for the sheep; sing alleluia, alleluia, the Lord is risen again. His voice still calls his own to rest; to us his grace is manifest; the mystery of his love possessed will be our song above. Arisen is the Good Shepherd, Good Shepherd, the one who gave his life for the sheep; sing alleluia, alleluia, the Lord is risen again. Sing alleluia, alleluia, alleluia!

ANTHEM God’s Right Hand and Holy Arm

K. Lee Scott

God’s right hand and holy arm have won the victory, God’s right hand and holy arm have won the victory. Christ being raised from the dead shall die no more. Death has no power over Him; He lives to God. God’s right hand and holy arm have won the victory, God’s right hand and holy arm have won the victory. Why seek the living now among the dead? Recall His promise unto you; He lives again. God’s right hand and holy arm have won the victory, God’s right hand and holy arm have won the victory. Gone is death’s victory; gone is death’s sting; God gives us the victory through Christ our Lord. God’s right hand and holy arm have won the victory, God’s right hand and holy arm have won the victory. Christ, being raised from the dead shall die no more. Death has no power over Him; He lives to God. God’s right hand and holy arm have won the victory, God’s right hand and holy arm have won the victory. God has won the victory!
