Pastoral Potpourri by Russell Sullivan, Pastor
This article should be subdivided into several articles, but it’s all connected by the theme of renewal, energy, and gratitude for good things that have been happening at Pine Street since August. First, let me extend a warm welcome to our newest staff member at Pine Street, Anne Guenin. Immediately upon Diana Robertson’s resignation at the end of September, your Personnel Committee and I began to think about our needs, both short and long term, in our management of finances and accounting. Session, acting upon the recommendation of the Personnel Committee, hired Anne Guenin to be our Interim Church Administrator. As a former president of our Board of Trustees and an attorney, Anne brings an expertise and gifts to the task of management and organization. Not only will she manage the daily business and financial operations

Second, other good things have been happening at Pine Street too since August. Your elders have been engaged in imaginative thinking and prayer as they review our strategic plan and its implications for mission and ministry. Your trustees have given a steady hand to the management of our property and resources. Your deacons are faithfully caring for our people and performing duties on Sunday morning — they are simply superb! And new initiatives in visitation, continued listening to the concerns of the congregation (Communication Central), and the continued work of all of our committees and teams display energy and commitment to move forward and be faithful to God’s vision for Pine Street. Finally, your staff has been a bulwark of support to our ministry. See POTPOURRI on page 4
