THE MOST WONDERFUL TIME OF THE YEAR Welcome to Fall Back, a Plucky Knitter Collection! It’s no secret that fall is my favorite time of the year. I love September and October with their beautiful crisp, sunny days that ease into cool, cozy nights. Fall is a nostalgic time for Hayley and me because our parents and grandparents made it such a magical season for us. They instilled a love of hayrides, baking, anything pumpkin flavored, all things plaid, and raking leaves (even if we bumped our heads on rocks as we tripped over each other falling into the piles of leaves - but we lived to tell the tale). To this day, Hayley and I continue these fall traditions. The fall months also are made for bonfires and first fires in the fireplace. It’s time to get out those plaid shirts (and vests and coats) and my favorite boots and topping it all off with my favorite hand knits.
Fall also reignites all my knitting juices. That’s why Fall Back is such a special collection for me. It’s filled with sweaters, cowls, hats, wraps, mitts, and leg warmers to wear with those boots! It’s everything you and I will need to stay warm and stylish, not only in September and October, but beyond. It also goes without saying that this time of year is particularly inspiring for me and the Plucky Crew. We are so pleased to introduce new colorways and bases that we hope you’ll love. As with previous collections, this one is another great design collaboration between Amy Miller, Jill Zielinski, Hayley and me. We loved coming up with the various patterns, color pairings and bases that resulted in Fall Back. We hope you enjoy knitting this collection as much as we did creating it! Warmly,

Hayride is the perfect three season pullover, whether you choose to wear it alone or style it over your favorite plaid shirt. The large bands of changing stitch patterns create lots of interest and loads of texture. Knit in the round, from the bottom up, the only seaming needed will be at the shoulders! THE YARNS What a joy it has been to pair each of these patterns with the different Plucky bases and colors shown in this book. We have tried to give you a view toward some of the options you have before you. The look of a finished piece can be dramatically different, depending on which base you select within the recommended weight yarn. As an example, a garment knit in Scholar will have a different look than one knit in another worsted weight, such as Bello Worsted. And, you may even choose to add another dimension by combining two yarns, in two different bases and/or colors, to create you own unique fabric. When that happens, YOU become the designer! Our fibers originate from multiple places – both domestically and internationally. Plucky yarns are custom milled to meet MY standards of excellence, responsibility and ethical practices. Each skein is hand dyed, in our studio, using techniques we have developed and refined. When you purchase Plucky yarns, you do so knowing that these bases are not available anywhere else in the world. You can feel confident in the knowledge that I have personally developed and tested each base. I am proud of each and every skein of Plucky yarn we produce.
