ALEHOUSES OPEN IN LINCOLN CITY CENTRE

With real ale becoming more and more popular, bars focused on the drink are popping up all over the city centre. From the owners of the West End Tap, Lincoln Taphouse & Kitchen has opened on the former site of the Cloud Bar in the Cathedral quarter. Lincolnshire Red on Newland is now Dexter’s Alehouse and Cask, a pizzeria and brewhouse brewing their own beers, is opening on the former site of Roman’s Place in the shadow of the castle.

TIME FOR MULLED WINE Remember the Lamb and Flag? Yeah, me neither. Well, my boss there (before it closed) showed me his recipe for mulled wine and it’s bloody tasty. This makes far too much… have fun! -SA Stud two oranges with cloves . Pop them in a big pan with four bottles of fruity red wine, 300g of brown sugar , a carton of orange juice , three cinnamon sticks , the zest of the oranges and three lemons . Warm gently for an hour (don’t let it boil!), strain thoroughly and enjoy!

This month’s cover aRt was drawn by Nathan BAxteR. WhETHER It’S to ADVERTISE YOUR UPCOMING EVENT OR YOU WANT TO CONTRIBUTE A SKETCH FOR THE FRONT COVER, WE’RE ALWAYS LOOKING FOR LOCAL ARTISTS TO FEATURE in A.L.E.
