IT’S BACK: LINCOLN’S INFAMOUS XMAS MARKET
It’s that time of year again. At the very beginning of next month thousands of people will flock to the Cathedral Quarter for Lincoln’s Christmas Market. The market will be open from Thursday 3rd December until Sunday 6th December. Here’s three things you’ll need to survive Lincoln’s busiest weekend. 1. 2. 3.
Mulled beverages! (see below) A simple and effective way to keep you warm and genial. A wooly hat. Preferably a loud colour to make spotting you in the crowds easier. A cheerful disposition. There will be confused tourists and stressed-out bar staff everywhere!
Or alternatively, just hide away in your local with a tasty drink until it all blows over.
MULLED CIDER, ANYONE? Ah, mulled cider: a perfect way to blow out the autumnal cobwebs. Fancy making it yourself? Here’s the super simple recipe I use every year. Stud two apples with cloves . Pop them in a big pan with three bottles of cider, half a carton of apple juice , three cinnamon sticks , the zest of an orange and an enthusiastic slug of spiced rum . Warm gently for an hour (don’t let it boil!), strain and enjoy!
