the world of fashion, passing the test of time is a real feat. When a company celebrates its first year in business and continues on, it’s quite impressive. When a company celebrates five years it must be doing something right, and 10 is a real achievement. Now fast forward another 20 years, and you get the beautiful, and proudly-Canadian, Jeanne Lottie. Jeanne Lottie, which celebrates its 30 year anniversary on April 1st 2015, is a unique brand of handbags with the most diverse customer base, and truly something for everyone. A Schulich School of Business grad, Jane had an innate creativity that just couldn’t be tamed. Armed with her creative mind and business savvy, Jane and her sister Charlotte began what is now a true Toronto staple. The name Jeannie Lottie is derived from the names of the 2 original founders, Jane and Charlotte, and coincidentally means true happiness in Chinese. I had the pleasure of speaking with Jane, and learning more about Jeanne Lottie. How did you get started? Why handbags? At the time, in 1985, there was a void in the market. Everything was so boring! I wanted to create fun handbags - I wanted to create my own unique designs. I love to sketch and experiment with different colours, fabrics, and textures, and our technicians help bring my visions to life. What was your biggest challenge starting out? Stores thinking that we were too different. They’d say our purses were wonderful window pieces but not ones to be sold. I guess the window pieces drew the customers in after all!

The Oscar winner has played shapeshifter Mystique in two films - 2011's X-MEN: FIRST CLASS and last year's (14) 2014's X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST, but, in a new interview with MTV News, she confirmed the next instalment of the blockbuster sci-fi series will mark her final appearance. When asked if the rumours of her departure are true, Lawrence replied, "It is my last one, yes." Lawrence is slated to begin filming on X-Men: Apocalypse later this year (15), with a release date set for May 2016.

Police in Northern Ireland have reportedly foiled a terrorist bomb plot on the set of GAME OF THRONES in Belfast. Cops thwarted a plan by Republican terrorists to set off explosives targeted at former security force members working at The Paint Hall Titanic Studios, where scenes for the show's fifth season were filmed. Security forces documents seen by editors at The Belfast Telegraph refer to a "threat to life involving ex-members of the police and security forces working at Game of Thrones". The bomb was reportedly set to be planted in a bin next to a catering unit in the studio where former cops working on the set eat their meals, and staff have been advised to step up their security arrangements in the wake of the scare.

SELMA co-stars COMMON and OPRAH WINFREY are set to join the cast of TV drama hit EMPIRE for guest spots in season two. Show co-creator Lee Daniels tells The Hollywood Reporter he has been trying to persuade his The Butler star, Winfrey, to appear on the show for weeks, previously admitting, “I’m wearing her down!” The director now says, “She’s gonna be on it... for absolutely sure. Actress SARAH SILVERMAN turned down the chance to star in MAD MEN. The funnywoman first met the show’s star JON HAMM when he had a guest role on her show The Sarah Silverman Program in 2007, the same year Mad Men premiered. Silverman became friends with Hamm and prior to shooting the pilot of the drama; he suggested she take on the role of one of his possible love interests. She reveals, “He got this pilot, and I remembered he called me, and he said, ‘I think there’s a part in it that would be good for you. You should come audition for it. It’s like a Jewish department store owner.’ And I was like, ‘Jon, I have a show. I’m the star of it.’ So I blew that.” Actress Maggie Siff eventually took on the role of Rachel Menken for two seasons in the multiple Emmy Award-winning series.
