A CLUTTER-FREE

WARDROBE by Fanny Pozin

The best way to stay on top of things and keep yourself stress free is to get rid of clutter. And what better way to do so than to streamline your closet! Since work wear is an integral part of most closets let’s start there. A beautifully organized wardrobe will save you time, money, and stress in the morning. You don’t need too many pieces, actually quite the opposite, but you want to make sure the pieces can be mix and matched for maximum outfits.

T

hat being said, mixing and matching doesn’t mean neutrals only. No way! You want to stay true to yourself and your personality. If you’re only wearing neutrals already then keep at it. But if you like bold colours and patterns there’s certainly a place for that even in an office environment. LESS REALLY IS MORE – LESS CLUTTER AND MORE OUTFITS!

THE 5 WORK ESSENTIALS FOR EVERY WARDROBE:

1. VERSATILE DRESSES The great thing about a dress is it can easily be transitioned from season to season. Opt for structured dresses, and watch for fabrics. Flimsy and flowy frocks don’t tend to do well in the winter… and will stick to your pantyhose! Since a dress is an outfit on its own don’t be afraid of colour and pattern! You can always subdue the outfit with a tame and neutral blazer – which is also the key to seasonal versatility. 2. FABULOUS SKIRT I recommend having 1 neutral to go with your “out there” tops, and few funky ones to pair with milder blouses. Midi skirts, full and A-line skirts are all on trend, but the one timeless piece to consider is a classic pencil skirt. Depending on your work environment a beautiful office-appropriate skirt is often enough to dress up even the simplest T-shirt. Incorporate a bold statement necklace for added drama.

KILLER HEELS

“A beautifully organized wardrobe will save you time, money, and stress in the morning.” ANYWHERE BLOUSE

3. BLAZERS Blazers are lifesavers and can be worn many times over before anyone notices you’ve been wearing the same one for weeks. You want your blazer to be fitted but not stuffy. The key is to look polished and put together and not as if you’ve been playing dress up in someone else’s closet. 4. KILLER SHOE Ladies, a ‘killer shoe’ does not mean wearing stilettos to work, but rather a comfortable-yet-sexy heel that will allow you to rock it all day long, will boost your confidence, and make you feel like you can take over the world. After

all, as Marilyn Monroe famously said “Give a girl the right shoes, and she can conquer the world.” 5. WEAR ANYWHERE BLOUSE Even if you work in the most corporate environment try to focus on tops that can serve double or triple duty. Those that you’ll be able to wear with your suits, but also with jeans on the weekend. Versatile pieces are worth investing in, and finding tops and blouses which are versatile is not as daunting as it would seem. As long as it’s not revealing and doesn’t scream profanities you should generally be fine.

SPRAYABLE SLEEP CURE FOR INSOMNIA

Spray it out loud. . . Sssh. Well, not too loud. . . A cure for insomnia may well have arrived on our bedside tables in the elegant, userfriendly shape of a deodorant-style spray can. Sprayable Sleep allows the purchaser to ‘wear’ a good night’s rest like a fragrance. Each bottle contains around a month’s worth of a natural melatonin - the hormone your body produces to regulate your sleep - which, when applied in mist form (akin to a perfume),will enhance the sprayers prospects of drifting off into the land of slumber. Courtesy of the aptly named Sprayable Inc. The product follows last year’s successfully funded Sprayable Energy caffeine spray successfully launched by company co-founders Devon Soni and Ben Yu. They have already exceeded the $153 000 mark with over 2,200 funders on Indiegogo crowd funding website. The $15 pledge presents a bottle with 30 uses to be delivered by July to US backers and August internationally. Sprayable states: “Sprayable Sleep is the world’s first topical melatonin spray. It’s a product users spray on their skin, to get to sleep whenever they want, without harsh, addictive chemicals, or ineffective gimmicks. Users just spray the product on their skin about an hour before they’d like to get to sleep and go about their nightly routine. They will fall asleep more easily, and wake up naturally – truly refreshed, without the grogginess that often accompanies sleeping pills.” Image Supplied by WENN.com. ONE ON ONE WITH

joanna krupa

W W

e recently had the chance to interview hot model/ reality star Joanna Krupa. The Real Housewives of Miami star and current host of Poland’s Next Top Model has been in the news lately after suing fellow reality star Brandi Glanville, ex-wife of actor Eddie Cibrian, for defamation over crude comments Glanville made during an appearance on Watch What Happens Live. Krupa didn’t comment on the incident with us, but the beauty opened up about how she maintains a healthy lifestyle and why her hubby is proud of her accomplishments - all made “without having a famous father, a sex tape, or a famous boyfriend.”

you’re constantly being photographed on the beach, you have a swimsuit line ESOTIQ - what are your tips for staying in shape? JK: I have been doing a line with esotiq.com for four years now, which is sold all over Europe, but I do want to bring it to the USA because the pieces are beautiful and feminine! That is what I am working on now, making it available here in the States. To be in shape, I do Equinox classes 2-5 times a week. In order to be in shape you have to put in the work and also try to eat healthy. I definitely eat what I want, but in moderation. I don’t over-eat and I try to keep my calorie intake to 2000 calories a day. what other housewife show or reality show would you be interested in participating in? Is there a reality program that you would never do? JK: I never say never because it always depends on the timing and opportunity. But the ideal show for me would not only be drama filled, but also with heart that showcases who I really am. From an animal activist, reality star, TV host , actress, designer, Top Model, poker player and a wife... it would be a dream to do a project that showcases all of me and also all of the good I do in my life. I try to be a good role model. My ultimate goal is to host my own show in the USA. I currently host and judge one of the highest rated shows in Poland, Poland’s Next Top Model, and I love it so much.

a year and a half into your marriage with romain zago - how’s married life going? JK: Marriage is great! Romain and I were together for six years before we officially got married, so not much has changed, but we are more confident with the relationship because at the end of the day it’s still a commitment. You never feel 100 percent secure in a relationship until that final commitment, which is marriage. What I love most about him is that he lets me be me and supports me in all my career moves. He is super proud of everything I have accomplished on my own without having a famous father, a sex tape, or a famous boyfriend. It is all from hard work, dedication and ambition and he respects that because he also came from nothing and had to work very hard to get to where he is. We never had anything handed to us. what can we expect from you in 2015? JK: I am very much involved with my rescue, www.angelsforanimalrescue.org, because this is my passion. I want to be able to help all the helpless and defenseless animals as well as educate people about the cruelty in the world. This is what makes me happy. I am also developing an amazing project, which I hope I’ll be able to share soon. I am relaunching my face cream, Cellogica, in February. I am also getting ready for Season 5 of Poland’s Next Top Model.

Dat Sto ing ries “HE SAID HE WAS ! GOING TO TAKE ME SOMEWHERE SPECIAL, BUT HE TOOK ME TO MCDONALD’S”

A

t 27-years-old my parents already consider me an old maid. Most of my friends have houses, kids, husbands (let’s throw in a couple of divorces for good measure) . Last year I had a mediocre job and a threeyear-old relationship that was going nowhere fast. I wanted marriage and children; he wanted TV and a personal chef (me). I decided to accept a job offer in Toronto and start a new life. I broke the news to my boyfriend, gearing up for a huge cry-fest and maybe a ‘We can make it work’ - a long distance relationship, perhaps? Maybe some phone sex? I got a blank stare and a ‘Do you know where the remote is’? I should mention that I have never had the best luck meeting new guys. I’m awkward. I’m not up on the latest fashion trends and I hate wearing makeup. I’m cute, not beautiful. My ex once told me I looked quirky, like a young Kathy Griffin. Toronto was, still is, supposed to be a dating mecca. A melting pot of men. My last chance at finding love. There are millions of people in this city, is my soulmate one of them? Men are scared to approach women. Okay, I decided, shortly after I first arrived in Toronto, I’d make the first move. I’m young. Cute. I look like Kathy Griffin. I took the subway eastbound and noticed a cute guy with Buddy Holly-like glasses sitting across from me. He was staring at the endless series of ads above my head. His eyes slowly trailed downward and we made eye contact. Bingo! Was I about to join the TTC mile high club? I smiled ... and it was as if I gave him the sign of the devil. He shot me a withering look and quickly grabbed hold of, who I assumed, was his boyfriend’s hand. (Am I being cynical or do Toronto guys fall into one of three categories: Not interested, married or gay - or with my luck a combination of all three?) My roommate *Allison tried to help. She always seemed to have a neverending supply of hot men and I was desperately in need of advice. ”The Internet,” she told me one night, while slathering on makeup for another date. “No one meets in person anymore. They meet online first and then in person.” My first attempt at making an online profile was pretty horrific. My selfie wasn’t that cute and my detailed report of what type of man I was looking for didn’t seem to resonate. I did got one response from a man who asked me to marry him... so he could stay in the country. “Never share too much information about who you really are or what you really want” Allison advised. “And always Photoshop your profile picture.” With the click of a mouse, she cut my bio in half and expertly smoothed out the freckles on my headshot. I almost looked, pretty. Almost. And the date invitations finally began to pour in.

*Jonathan was gorgeous, in a dark-haired mysterious way. He said he owned a condo in the city and he wanted to make me dinner one day. A man who didn’t live with his parents and who could cook? Score! The thing is - he only wanted to talk through text, never over the phone. He texted a series of selfies and over the weeks began to demand more and more pictures from me. After three weeks of flirty texts, he sent a full frontal risqué selfie. I stared at it, confused. “Don’t u want 2 send me a sexy pic bac?” He texted. I waited an hour. “Not until we meet,” I texted back. He set up a time and place for the next evening ... and never showed up. He didn’t text. He didn’t call. He didn’t respond to my calls and he blocked me from contacting him through the dating site. “You’re doing it all wrong,” Allison said that evening, as I cried my heart out over my non-existent dating life. “You have to date a couple of guys at the same time. You know - go through a couple of frogs before you find the prince?” Frog no. 2 looked at least 10 years older in person than he did in his picture. “How old are you again?’ I asked as he ran his hands through his silver grey hair. “38,” he said, too quickly. “I started going grey when I hit 25.” Call me picky, but I can’t imagine dating someone who looks older than my parents. Date no. 3 seemed promising. *Ashton was good looking and had a great job in the tech industry. Best of all - we actually spoke on the phone before deciding to meet. Would he be my Prince Charming? Would he be the one I’d plaster pictures of all over Facebook and make my friends jealous? We met in a busy cafe in Kensington Market and hit it off. He had a rugged look to him, almost like he just came back from camping in the woods. We walked handin-hand down the streets. Throughout the night he kept saying he had a ‘special surprise’ for me and was going to take me somewhere ‘special’. I certainly hoped so. Allison leant me her tallest pair of high-heeled shoes and told me to pair it with a short mini skirt. (“You have to look sexy for the first date,” she admonished. “Make him want you - but don’t sleep with him.”) We strolled up to a McDonalds. “Ba Da Ba Ba Ba,” he mimicked the fast food theme song while ushering me into the restaurant. “Fast food?” I asked, incredulously. My feet hurt and I stepped in some gum, ruining my shoes, Allison’s shoes. “Is this my surprise?” He seemed surprised. “In your profile you said you enjoyed the simple things . So do I. I don’t like spending money either.” “There’s a difference between simple and cheap,” I muttered. I sat down and my skirt rid up my upper thigh. I took off the heels and began running my throbbing feet. I was no longer pleasant and lady-like. “Let me show you pictures of my babies,” Ashton said while taking out his wallet. “Babies?” I asked cautiously. Hmmm ... maybe this would get my parents off my back. If we got married, this would immediately take care of the grandkid situation. His ‘babies’ were Labrador retrievers. “I’ve got three,” he boasted. Over our feast of burgers and fries, I failed to mention that I was allergic to dogs. – JC.

Nikki Reed Not Rattled by Ian Somerhalder’s Friendship with Nina Dobrev -- Why Nikki’s above the Fray!

L

et’s talk about why Nikki Reed is a very secure woman! HollywoodLife.com reported “Nikki Reed, 26, treated fans to a glimpse of her gorgeous engagement rings from fiance Ian Somerhalder, 36, while jogging in Atlanta, Ga. on Jan. 29. Even better, Nikki flashed her rings again that same day with Ian on her arm! What’s interesting is that it looks like Nikki is wearing not one but two diamond eternity bands on her left ring finger... “We’re not surprised Nikki opted for unique engagement rings. After all, she’s not like “most girls.” In fact, she doesn’t mind that Ian

is still friendly with ex-girlfriend and current The Vampire Diaries co-star, Nina Dobrev, 26 — even after they flaunted major PDA on set. “Most girls would have a problem with Ian spending all this time with his ex, but Nikki isn’t most girls,” a source revealed. “She’s very confident, and doesn’t see Nina as a threat. Ian’s close friends with pretty much all of his exes. She’s OK with it.” f you followed Nina and Ian’s relationship, you might recall its intensity. In fact, Ian’s always struck me more as a serial monogamist. What’s most impressive about Nikki is that she doesn’t care he’s still working with and is close to Nina. Or at least that’s how Nikki acts. In other words, how do we know for sure whether Nikki is really this secure? The truth is we don’t. Maybe she’s secretly annoyed and can’t wait for the show to end so that he sees Nina less. She might even be faking it with Ian, pretending she’s ok when she’s

not. But that’s what matters. Everyone will tell you to have open and honest communication about how you’re jealous that your boyfriend is close to his ex. This is a mistake. You want to come off as the woman who is so secure that little things like an ex won’t rattle you. You’re the secure woman who won’t lose her cool. And because you aren’t, the man you’re dating is dying to have you. He loves your confidence and the fact you don’t need reassurance. This does not mean you can fall asleep at the wheel, though. If he is not taking you out on the weekends, cancels dates, doesn’t call when he says he will or generally acts disinterested, that’s your cue to move on. Even if that’s happening, though, be the woman who is above the fray. Never give in to your insecurities with a man. The less he knows about what bothers you, the less it can be used against you.

Until next time... Shine like Platinum! ~ Vanessa

ICTORIA JUSTICE is keen to move past reports suggesting she bullied VICTORIOUS costar ARIANA GRANDE on the set of the hit teen series. The young star reveals a miscommunication during a Seventeen magazine interview left fans convinced Justice made her castmate’s life a living hell when they worked together - and despite explanations, Grande’s devotees have refused to think otherwise. During a recent appearance on The Meredith Vieira Show, Justice offered to set the story straight once and for all, telling the host, There was an article in Seventeen magazine where she (Grande) had said that she was bullied on set and the magazine basically alluded to it being me. “Once the article came out, actually before it came out, she texted me privately and said, ‘Oh my gosh, I am so sorry... I was not talking about you, obviously. I was talking about someone on Broadway that I had worked with’. But once it got out there, everyone thought that I was this bully and that I was mean to her, which couldn’t be further from the truth. “Sure we’ve had our differences, but at the end of the day, everyone in the cast of Victorious was a family and I love and respect all of them... It was just this ongoing thing. “Hopefully now that she’s talked about it and I’ve talked about it, and there’s no feud, we can put this behind us now and we can practice what Frozen preaches my friends, and let it go.” (KL/WNVMER/MT)

EGINA KING is not a fan of Valentine's Day after suggesting her ex, former child star MALCOLM JAMAL-WARNER dumped her on the most romantic day of the year. The Jerry Maguire star had been dating Warner for two years when he unexpectedly called time off on the relationship in 2013, and it appears King is still bitter about the bad timing of the split. Discussing her favourite Valentine's Day gifts, she told Us Weekly, "That's tough because I don't have one - someone broke up with me on Valentine's. D**k! Yeah, I'm serious.

Then he actually sent me flowers that said, 'I still love you' and I threw the flowers in the trash and he was upset that I threw them in the trash and I was like, 'F**k you'." King, now 43, refuses to publicly name the ex who treated her badly, but she insists fans can easily work it out, saying, "They'll know." News of King and Warner's split emerged in March, 2013. The actress was previously married to Ian Alexander, Sr., the father of her teenage son. Their relationship ended in divorce in 2006. (MT/WNWCUW/KL)

FILMREVIEW By Terri-Lynne Waldron

SHOW ‘EM WHAT YOU’RE MADE OF

BACKSTREET BOYS

In their new IBackstreet documentary— Boys:

Show ‘Em What You’re Made Of—Nick Carter, Howie Dorough, Brian Littrell, AJ McLean and Kevin Richardson—the boy band chronicle their career trajectory from boys to men at the hands of their former impresario Lou Pearlman, a one-time successful Florida businessman.

P

earlman took the group under his wing while robbing them blind at the same time. He now sits in federal prison sentenced to 25 years for another one of his misdeeds— perpetrating a Ponzi scheme. The filming of the documentary coincided with the group recording their last record in London, England—2013’s In a World Like This—where they worked and lived together. In the documentary each member takes the entire group back to his home town to reflect on some of their personal tragedies and triumphs growing up. Viewers may want to reach for their tissues when group members tear up when discussing their less-than-perfect upbringing and loss. But the Backstreet Boys also give us a glimpse into their working relationship that is not always blemish-free.
