SEVENTY FIVE YEARS OF PORSCHE SPORTS CARS
In 1948, Ferry Porsche realised his dream of a sports car: with his team, he produced the Porsche 356 ‘No. 1’ Roadster. It marked the birth of a legendary brand and laid the foundation for an exemplary success story, for the Porsche legend. The sports car manufacturer will mark its 75th anniversary in 2023 with celebrations around the world and the Porsche Vision 357.

Rolling Start
AAs you will remember from Edition #28, our W magazine featured the all-new 911 Dakar which brings history back to life in such a magnificent way.
This edition we have featured the all-new 911 S/T which celebrates the 60th Anniversary of the Porsche 911, hence the highlighted number 63 as an option. This awe inspiring 911 has been capped to only 1963 units worldwide, meaning a mere 70 will land down under! Consequently, as I pen this Rolling Start I am sure all 70 are already sold.
Once again, we celebrated a major birthdate for Porsche, the 75th Anniversary 1948 – 2023, here at Willoughby.
I would estimate we enjoyed 500 or so people visiting us, the showroom was buzzing all day and our pizza oven ran out of food quickly!
For anyone interested in experiencing Porsche on Ice, our forthcoming Ice Experience dates should be released very soon. We are hoping to join at least 50 of our clients in Finland and even a few in Germany for a Factory tour.
We can now confirm the Factory in Osnabruck has reopened after being closed due to Covid back in 2020. This means our 718 Cayman and Boxsters are being built in better numbers than for the past few years. Also benefiting is the Zuffenhausen factory in Stuttgart where we build every 911, alongside the all new Taycan factory in the same area. Incredibly Porsche managed to continue building every model, with some delays, during Covid and the ongoing Russian conflict with Ukraine.
Here in Willoughby we are awaiting our new Cayenne range in September. The new car is far more than just a generation update. It is a massive overhaul with comprehensive changes to the powertrain and chassis. The very refined alterations to both the Wagon and the Coupe from the outside give the vehicle a
totally new, sharper look. Inside is sensational, the influence of our Taycan and other new features modernise the whole cabin. Our passenger display option now allows the viewing of movies etc without the driver being able to see, a very popular option.
I know September will be busy here in our showroom when we first display numerous new models.
When I was in the Canary Islands for our Cayenne release I was able to see and touch the all new Mission X, a future model we hope - see our article in this edition of W. We also drove the Cayenne through Tenerife avoiding as much volcanic rock as we could! A huge highlight was eight 911 Dakar models driving on a motor cross hill climb area, we actually were airborne more than a few times!
As I was already in Europe, after visiting family in England, I experienced the GOODWOOD Festival of speed which also celebrated the 75 years of Porsche in a magnificent way. My first time there and for sure not my last! As you can see from our article in this edition, Goodwood was a vibrant, packed and happy place to be.
As an update to the forthcoming all new After Sales division in Artarmon I have shown below our first images of where you will be servicing your Porsche in the future. We are still anticipating a September 2024 opening after at least 6 months of building. We will keep you informed each W edition and closer to the time will ensure you are fully aware of the new location.
Look forward to seeing you at Willoughby soon,

Sustainable Business Practices: bassike & Porsche Leading the Way
Deborah Sams and Mary Lou Ryan had a vision when they founded bassike (pronounced “basic”) in 2006. They aimed to create high-quality wardrobe essentials using sustainably sourced materials. From the outset, they chose to work with organic cotton, Australian makers, and embrace responsible business practices.
Today, with increasing consumer consciousness about purchasing choices, bassike is committed to providing a modern and authentic voice to their work. They recognised the prevalence of green-washing in the fashion industry, where false claims mislead consumers. As a brand, bassike feels a responsibility to ensure their messaging is genuine and purposeful.
In June 2022, bassike achieved B Corp certification, marking a significant milestone on their responsible business pathway. B Corp certified businesses undergo a rigorous verification process every three years, evaluating their performance against B Lab standards. This certification confirms their adherence to high global standards of social and environmental performance and this commitment to continuous improvement sets bassike apart as a leader in the global movement to create positive impacts on all stakeholders.
As a proud B Corp, bassike takes a holistic and transparent approach to responsible business practices with a mission to be a force for good and consider the impacts on people, planet, and profit in decision-making processes.

ALIKE
bassike’s journey began with supporting local industries and working with organic cotton, but it has evolved into a culture of continuous improvement across design, production, and operations. When customers purchase a bassike product, they can be confident that they are supporting a design-led, ethical, and sustainable business that values its local community, team, and customers.
Balancing sustainability with creating visually appealing and comfortable garments poses a challenge. However, because bassike started with this philosophy in 2006, it has become an integral part of their brand identity. They acknowledge that the fashion industry as a whole still has a long way to go, with its significant environmental impact contributing to 4% of global greenhouse gas emissions*. Issues such as modern slavery in the supply chain also need to be addressed. Despite not achieving perfection, bassike remains committed to continuous improvement. They understand that missteps may occur, but they always reflect on their progress and strive to do better.
Collaboration is key in tackling the challenges of social and environmental impact in the industry. bassike recognises the shared principles of design, longevity, and craftsmanship quality with Porsche, an iconic brand known for its innovation. Just as Porsche is at the forefront of driving change in the automotive industry, luxury fashion brands and marketplaces like Chloe and Vestiaire Collective are also becoming B Corp certified. The increasing recognition of the need for change is encouraging.
Porsche, known for its commitment to excellence, is addressing all aspects of its business to support the Net Zero goal by 2030 **. This includes engaging Dealerships worldwide, such as the Porsche Willoughby Dealership. Acknowledging the environmental challenges faced by the automotive industry, Porsche is investing in e-fuels with a pilot plant in Chile and plans to open another in Tasmania. With 80% of their fleet on track for electrification, Porsche’s commitment to electric vehicles is evident with the Taycan, their first fully electric vehicle for the new generation, and the forthcoming Macan electric.
Speaking of the Taycan, Mary Lou confirmed that experiencing it first hand was an amazing moment. The feeling behind the wheel of the Taycan mirrors the sensation bassike aims to evoke with their clothing—a sense of joy, quality, and design.
During the showcase of their Autumn Winter 2023 collection at Porsche Centre Willoughby bassike proudly presented garments made in Australia. Building long-term relationships with suppliers, makers, and workers is another cornerstone of bassike’s responsible business practices. Over 90% of their

collection is manufactured locally, reinforcing their commitment to supporting local industry and families.
bassike created their own internal tool, Sustainable Ethical Manufacturing Index (S.E.M.I.), to rate partners, with global certifications and third party auditing feeding into this reporting. By screening all manufacturing partners with their Sustainable Ethical Manufacturing Index (S.E.M.I.), bassike ensures that human rights are upheld throughout the supply chain.
The S.E.M.I. ranks fabric mills, manufacturing partners, and product compositions based on environmental, labour, and animal welfare considerations.
This framework enables bassike to make informed decisions about ethical and sustainable manufacturing. Products ranked as “developing” are placed on continuous improvement plans until they reach the “outstanding” level. Unacceptable products are discontinued and removed from bassike’s supply chain.
bassike is optimistic about their goals, including those focusing on circularity. The toxic nature of fashion’s base materials and fibre production highlights the importance of reducing landfill waste and working with recycled materials. In Australia alone, women purchase 35 kilograms of fashion annually, disposing of 24 kilograms, leading to excessive landfill waste. bassike aims to innovate and work with low-impact materials that minimise chemical usage, water management, deforestation, and soil degradation. By 2030, they aspire to achieve these sustainability targets.

Furthermore, in June 2021, bassike obtained the Climate Active Carbon Neutral Standard certification, encompassing their operational emissions. This certification covers various aspects, including utilities, global freight, staff travel, consumer and supplier packaging, waste management, and more. By measuring, reducing, and offsetting their greenhouse gas emissions, bassike demonstrates their commitment to mitigating climate change.
While responsible business practices are at the core of bassike’s ethos, they also extend their support to charitable organisations. One of their long-standing partnerships is with the Northern Beaches Women’s Shelter (NBWS), which provides crucial support and accommodation to women in crisis situations. bassike has been supporting the NBWS since 2019, raising funds through an annual luncheon to assist their important work in protecting vulnerable women.
Another organisation that bassike collaborates with is The Mirabel Foundation. This foundation focuses on helping children who have been orphaned or abandoned due to parental drug use. Each year, bassike creates a limited edition mini t-shirt for the holiday season, with all proceeds donated to The Mirabel Foundation. Through these initiatives, bassike demonstrates its commitment to making a positive impact in the community.
Diversity, equity, and inclusion are fundamental values for bassike. They actively work towards promoting these values in their workplace and the broader community. By fostering an inclusive environment, bassike ensures that all stakeholders feel valued, respected, and represented.
bassike and Porsche are setting a commendable example by driving sustainable business practices in their respective industries. By prioritising responsible sourcing, ethical manufacturing, and environmental stewardship, they are paving the way for a more sustainable future. Their commitment to continuous improvement and collaboration demonstrates that change is possible, inspiring other brands to follow suit. As bassike and Porsche lead the charge, the future of sustainable business practices looks promising, with benefits for people, the planet, and profits alike.

HONOURED MARQUE PORSCHE CELEBRATES 30 YEARS OF SPEED AT GOODWOOD
This year’s Festival of Speed was the 30th anniversary event and coincides with Porsche celebrating the 75th anniversary of the registration of its very first sports car – the 356
As the honoured marque of this year’s Festival of Speed the sports car manufacturer showed off with different actions. “We’re delighted that Goodwood gave us this brilliant opportunity to share our passion with enthusiasts, Porsche fans and owners here in the UK,” Krishan Bodhani, CEO, Porsche Cars Great Britain, commented.
Global dynamic debut of the Porsche 718 Spyder RS
Porsche fans and owners enjoyed a whole host of action, with the focus on the challenging 1.16-mile hillclimb running through the centre of the venue. One of the many Porsche models mastering its way up Goodwood’s famous hillclimb was the very first Porsche sports car, the 1948 356 No 1. From the other end of the Porsche 75 Years spectrum was the recently announced 718 Spyder RS, which made its global dynamic debut on the Goodwood hill. Other modern road-going cars to feature on the hill, each inspired by the ethos of Ferry’s original dream, included the latest 911 GT3 RS, the 911 Dakar, the latest version of the mid-engined 718 GT4 RS fitted with circuit-optimised Manthey Kit, and the new Cayenne S. Alongside the action, Porsche offered an unparalleled range of static exhibits and immersive displays around the Goodwood site.
Honoured marque at the Festival of Speed
For the fourth time, Porsche was the honoured marque at the Festival of Speed, an honour that includes the construction of a bespoke sculpture outside Goodwood House. Designed by London-based Gerry Judah, this year’s sculpture was made from 50 tonnes of steel and included six cars representing Porsche’s 75 years. These were a 1951 356, the 1960 718 Formula 2, the 1990 962C, the 2009 911 type 997 Sport Classic, the 963 and the latest 911 type 992.
On the Porsche Experience stand, among displays of the latest Porsche models, fans got to see the Mission X concept, a spectacular reinterpretation of a hypercar, with Le Mans-style doors that open upwards to the front and a high-performance, efficient electric

powertrain. Making its global debut on the Porsche stand was the Vision 357 Speedster, a roofless all-electric machine with influences from the 356.
Also influenced by the 356 was the floral 356 ‘Art Car’ capturing the essence and realisation of Ferry’s dream. Digital artist Lusion created an immersive digital artwork to depict the original vision of Ferry Porsche through three distinct stages. The opening scene where ideas are random and free flowing, swiftly shifts to the phase where thoughts begin to take shape. The artwork culminates with a seed blossoming into hundreds of flowers that form the outline of a Porsche 356. Bringing the artist’s interpretation of this colourful metaphor to colourful life on the Porsche stand was ‘Flower 356’.
Highlights on the Porsche stand
Other highlights on the stand included a display from Porsche Classic, a Porsche shop, a café, a children’s play area and a DJ. Behind the Porsche stand was a large area of parking exclusively for members of the Porsche Club GB, as well as the ‘labyrinth’ – a colourful realisation of the Porsche 75 Years logo through which visitors could walk.
‘Dream Big’, a distinctive art installation from artist Chris Labrooy, took pride of place on Goodwood’s cricket pitch. Featuring a 911 Carrera appearing in the hand of a larger-than-life figure with a racing driver’s helmet, the coupé looks like a toy car as it is pushed along the ground.

A parade of Porsche cars
Some of the greatest racing cars from the past 75 years of Porsche also featured on the hill, from the 917 – driven by 1970 Le Mans winner Richard Attwood to the 935/76 to the 919 Hybrid, driven by Timo Bernhard. Around 20 cars were sent from Zuffenhausen to Goodwood by the Porsche Heritage and Museum team.
Also joining the Goodwood celebrations was Porsche factory race driver Nick Tandy, winner of Le Mans in 2015 in the 919 Hybrid, Kévin Estre and Michael Christensen from the current Porsche 963 driver line-up, and Porsche Ambassador, 2015 WEC Drivers’ Champion and former Grand Prix winner Mark Webber.
A special celebratory Porsche parade congregated around the central sculpture and climbed the famous hill twice each day – led by the 356 No 1, the parade included the experimental 928 ‘Trigema’ racing version from 1983, the Cayenne Transsyberia, a 959, a 911 ‘Type 993’ Turbo S and a very special 911 ‘Type 991’ which was the millionth 911 to be produced since the model was introduced in 1963 – driven up the hill on the Thursday of the Festival by golfer and Porsche Ambassador Paul Casey.

60 TH ANNIVERSARY LAUNCH 22 PORSCHEWILLOUGHBY.COM.AU
Porsche celebrates the 60th anniversary of the 911 with the exclusive 911 S/T edition. Limited to 1,963 units globally, this special model emphasises lightweight design and delivers a pure driving experience. For the first time, the 386 kW (525 PS) high-revving engine from the 911 GT3 RS is paired with a manual gearbox and lightweight clutch, offering an unmatched driving sensation.
To mark the special anniversary of the iconic 911 sports car, Porsche's engineers in Weissach have crafted a highly purist sports car for sheer driving enjoyment: the 911 S/T. This exclusive anniversary model combines the strengths of the 911 GT3 with Touring Package and the 911 GT3 RS, delivering a unique blend of agility and driving dynamics.
Powering the 911 S/T is a naturally aspirated 4.0-litre boxer engine, producing 386 kW (525 PS), taken from the 911 GT3 RS. Paired with a short-ratio manual transmission, the car boasts a lightweight construction and a running-gear setup optimised for agility and drivability.
With a kerb weight of just 1,380 kilograms, the 911 S/T is the lightest model in the 992 generation. The optional Heritage Design Package pays homage to the racing version of the 911 S from the late 1960s and early 1970s.
The engineers' expertise is evident in the car's nimble and agile handling, designed for maximum driving enjoyment on winding country roads. Reduced rotating mass in the engine, wheels, and brakes ensures dynamic responsiveness. The 911 S/T responds instantaneously to driver commands, offering precise steering, and rapid acceleration and braking. While the 911 GT3 RS is built for track use, the 911 S/T is tailored for exhilarating journeys on public roads.
23 PORSCHEWILLOUGHBY.COM.AU
The name "911 S/T" harks back to a performance-focused version of the first 911 generation called "911 ST" introduced in 1969. Porsche's 911 ST featured modifications to the chassis, wheels, engine, and body, significantly enhancing acceleration, braking, traction, and cornering grip.
Drawing inspiration from the original 911 S (ST), the new 911 S/T brings its spirit to the current model generation. The anniversary model incorporates elements from the 911 GT3 RS and the body of the 911 GT3 with Touring Package, enhanced with specially developed lightweight components.
Lightweight design is integral to the 911 S/T's agile and direct handling. Carbon-Fibre Reinforced Plastic (CFRP) is used for the front bonnet, roof, front wings, and doors, as well as the roll cage, rear axle anti-roll bar, and shear panel. The car features magnesium wheels, the Porsche Ceramic Composite Brake (PCCB) system, a lithium-ion starter battery, and lightweight glass as standard.
Omitting rear-axle steering and implementing weight-saving measures in the powertrain, the 911 S/T achieves a DIN kerb weight of only 1,380 kg, making it 40 kg lighter than a manual 911 GT3 Touring.
Porsche engineers have developed a new lightweight clutch exclusively for the 911 S/T, combined with a single-mass flywheel to reduce rotating mass by 10.5 kg. This enhances the responsiveness of the high-revving engine, delivering instant dynamics through the six-speed manual transmission with a shorter gear ratio than the 911 GT3. The 911 S/T accelerates to 100 km/h in just 3.7 seconds and achieves a top speed of 300 km/h on the track.
Enhancing the driving experience further is the standard lightweight sports exhaust system, providing a compelling soundscape. The 911 S/T is the only 911 in the current generation to combine a double-wishbone front-axle design
with a multi-link rear axle without rear-axle steering, with dampers and control systems tuned accordingly.
The 911 S/T's aerodynamics prioritise road use over the race track, featuring a Gurney flap on the extending rear spoiler as standard. It also includes 20-inch lightweight centre-locking magnesium wheels at the front and 21-inch ones at the rear, fitted with ultra-high-performance tyres for exceptional grip. The car's interior boasts CFRP full bucket seats as standard and a four-way-adjustable Sports Seat Plus option at no extra charge. The Sport Chrono Package's instrument cluster and clock sport a classic Phosphorus Green Porsche colour scheme.
For an exclusive touch, customers can opt for the Heritage Design Package, featuring the new exterior colour Shore Blue Metallic and Ceramica wheel rims. The car's doors can be customised with a starting number from 0 to 99 and a decorative foil upon request.
The classic-design Porsche crest from the original 911 adorns the front, hub caps, steering wheel, headrests, and car key, highlighting the 911 S/T's historic roots. Inside, cloth seat centres in Classic Cognac with black pinstripes pay homage to heritage. The two-tone semi-aniline leather trim in
Customers of the 911 S/T can purchase a Chronograph 1 – 911 S/T. Featuring a titanium case, uncoated and blasted, mirroring the lightweight purist 911 principle. The Porsche Design WERK 01.240 with its COSC certification and flyback function is at the heart of the chronograph. Operated by a 911 S/T wheel design rotor.

Only 24 911 ST racing cars, based on the 911 2.4 S Coupé, were ever built.
The 911 2.5 S/T was developed for customer sporting use in group 3 (series GT vehicles) and group 4 (modified GT vehicles) and was available in limited numbers from the sports division of what was then Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche KG for 49,680 Marks from the end of 1971 onwards. The 911 2.5 S was a works-modified version of the standard 911 2.4 S Coupé designed for use on racing circuits such as the Targa Florio or Le Mans as well as in rally racing, costing an extra 19,000 Marks, modified strictly in accordance with the international sporting regulations.

Ordered from the sports division of Porsche by the US racing driver Michael “Mike” Keyser in November 1971, the 911 2.5 S/T saw action at several races in the USA and at the endurance world championship during the 1972 season. One of the drivers back then was Jürgen Barth, a Porsche factory driver and an employee of the sports division of Porsche. The overall winner of the Le Mans 24 Hours race in 1977 can still vividly remember those days even now, 44 years later: “Mike Keyser had invited me to Sebring and we planned to drive the full 1972 endurance championship. Mike had even hired a small TV team to accompany us through the season.”
In the 1972 season, Jürgen Barth and the 911 2.5 S/T raced in the Daytona 6 Hours and the Sebring 12 Hours in Florida, followed by the Targa Florio as well as the 1000-km race on the Nürburgring together with Mike Keyser. Together with Sylvain Garant from Switzerland, Keyser and Barth finally took up the gauntlet of the season’s highlight – the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Not only did the trio, under the banner of the team Louis Mezanarie, take the class victory for GT cars up to 3 litres, but also clinched a formidable 13th place overall.

The redesigned fully digital 12.6-inch instrument cluster, boasting a curved and free-standing design with customisable display options, takes centre stage in the refined cockpit. The standard 12.3-inch central Porsche Communication Management (PCM) display seamlessly integrates into the new dashboard, providing easy access to all essential vehicle functions, along with native apps like Spotify ® and Apple Music ® for enhanced connectivity.
An optional 10.9-inch display is now available for the first time for the passenger side. This enriches the front passenger’s experience by displaying performance data and providing separate access to the infotainment system controls. A special film across the screen ensures that the driver cannot see this display while driving.

Expressive Exterior Design and Innovative Lighting
The new Cayenne commands attention with its expressive exterior design. Notable changes include a striking front end, elegantly arched wings, and three-dimensionally designed tail lights, all of which accentuate the vehicle's commanding width. A refreshed rear apron with an integrated number plate holder adds a touch of elegance to the vehicle's rear.
The standard Matrix LED Headlights provide unparalleled illumination, while the optional high-definition HD Matrix LED Headlights, with over 32,000 pixels per headlamp, ensure precise light distribution and increased safety by intelligently adjusting the brightness in different driving situations.
Optimised Chassis Performance
Porsche now equips the Cayenne at the factory with a steel spring suspension including Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM). New shock absorbers with 2-valve technology and thus separate rebound and compression stages allow optimised performance in all driving situations. In particular, comfort at slow speeds, handling during dynamic cornering, and pitch and roll support have been noticeably improved. The driving experience can be additionally enhanced with the new adaptive air suspension with 2-chamber, 2-valve technology, which is standard on certain models. This improves the driving experience with a soft suspension characteristic, stabilises the vehicle and simplifies on-road and off-road handling – compared to both the standard suspension and the predecessor model. At the same time, the adaptive air suspension improves driving precision and performance, and reduces body movements in dynamic driving situations. The suspension also offers an even sharper differentiation between Normal, Sport and Sport Plus driving modes.

Powerful Engine Range
In Australia, the new Cayenne debuts with three different engine versions. An extensive refinement of the four-litre V8 biturbo engine developed by Porsche replaces the previous V6 engine in the new Cayenne S. With a maximum output of 349 KW (474 PS # ) and a torque of 600 Nm – 25 kW (34 PS) and 50 Nm more than its predecessor – both the SUV and SUV Coupe are capable of accelerating to 100km/h in 4.7 seconds in combination with the Sports Chrono Package..
The entry into the world of the Cayenne comes with an optimised three-litre V6 turbo engine. It now generates 260 kW (353 PS) and 500 Nm, which is 10 kW (13 PS) and 50 Nm more than before.
The six-cylinder engine also forms the basis for the powertrain of the Cayenne E-Hybrid. In combination with a new electric motor that has been improved by 30 kW to 130 kW (176 PS), the combined output increases to 346 kW (470 PS). The capacity of the high-voltage battery has increased from 17.9 kWh to 25.9 kWh.
A new 11 kW on-board charger now shortens the charging time despite the increased battery capacity. During the trip, the optimised e-hybrid driving modes can increase the efficiency of the vehicle.
The Turbo GT is designed for maximum on-road performance and remains the top model in the Cayenne range. It is available exclusively as a Coupé and benefits from all the optimisations and innovations of the model series. In addition, the output of the four-litre V8 biturbo engine of the Turbo GT has been increased by 14 kW (19 PS) to 485 kW (659 PS). The Cayenne Turbo GT accelerates from zero to 100 km/h in 3.3 seconds.

MEGAN JACKSON
SERVICE CO-ORDINATOR
Introducing Megan Jackson, the dedicated Service Co-ordinator at PCW, who exudes a genuine passion for the Porsche brand. Beyond her role, she finds joy in family, football, and cherishing moments of laughter.
What is your role at PCW?
I am the Service Co-ordinator at PCW.
How long have you been with PCW?
I have currently been with PCW a little over 2years. Tell us a little bit about your motoring background?
I first joined the automotive industry in 2016, however, have grown up around it with multiple family members also in the industry.
How did you find your way here?
I moved to Australia, from England, at the age of 16. I found work within the hospitality industry, where I spent 7 years. However, after having 2 children, I was looking for a change that better fit our lifestyle. I found myself working as a receptionist within a Ford service department. I did venture into the sales side after this within a Mazda dealership, however, soon realised I felt more at home in the service department. This led to me working at Concord JLR (also Suttons) as the service co-ordinator. After 2 years, an opening came up at PCW for the same role and I couldn’t miss out on the opportunity to work with Porsche. What appealed to you about working with the Porsche brand?
When you mention the word ‘Porsche’ to people, everybody knows it, their eyes light up and there is usually a story to be told! Everybody knows Porsche is the Pinnacle; I wanted to be a part of that.
How have you found PCW compared to the likes of the other car brands you’ve worked for?
It is certainly very different; however, I don’t think the other brands are a fair comparison.
What has been your experience working with the PCW team?
I couldn’t ask for a better team. From the very 1st day, they have been very welcoming. They are a wealth of knowledge, which definitely works in my favour!
PROFILE 36 PORSCHEWILLOUGHBY.COM.AU
Do you have a favourite model?
Tough question! I would have to say a 911 992 Turbo S in Gentian Blue. Although, I am partial to any model in vibrant Gentian Blue Metallic.
Describe your perfect day at Porsche Centre Willoughby?
No two days at PCW are the same, however, it will always involve endless cups of tea and lots of laughs!
What has been a highlight during your time here at PCW?
Starting during the peak of Covid, a lot of things were cancelled or delayed. Now that training in Melbourne can go ahead, it is always great heading down there and getting to know not only my colleagues from PCW better, but also people from other Porsche Centres.
How do you relax and unwind from a busy day?
There is nothing better than lounging around with the family, watching TV, with a (large) glass of wine.
Tell us about your life outside of PCW
Outside of PCW, my life consists of family and football. Having two boys, aged 11 and 8, who play for The Willoughby Roos, and who are avid Manly fans, we spend many, many hours on a footy field, watching it on TV or at the games!

RISE OF THE BEASTS - 911 / AUTOBOT
The roaring engines, thrilling action, and epic battles that have captivated audiences worldwide returns in Transformers: Rise of the Beasts. This latest instalment takes viewers on a globetrotting adventure through the '90s, introducing a new faction of Transformers known as the Maximals, who join forces with the Autobots in their ongoing fight for Earth.
Among the ranks of the Autobots stands "Mirage," the newest hero to hit the screen. In car form, Mirage takes on the iconic Porsche 911 Carrera RS 3.8 (964), uniting the power of this legendary vehicle with the forces of the Transformers. Fighting alongside Optimus Prime, Mirage embodies a character described by Oliver Hoffmann, Head of Marketing Communications at Porsche AG, as "a tough character with a good heart and a bit of a rebellious streak now and again."
The Porsche 911 Carrera RS 3.8 holds a special place in automotive history. With only 55 units ever produced, it is an exceptionally rare gem. To safeguard these precious originals, no authentic models were used during filming. Instead, five meticulously crafted replica cars were built, capturing the exact exterior of the 964. These picture cars faithfully represent the iconic vehicle, ensuring its presence in the film while protecting the genuine models from harm.
While the replica cars mirror the exterior, capturing the authentic engine sound of the 911 Carrera RS 3.8 required a different approach. To achieve this, the film's creators turned to a real 911 RS 3.8, allowing Mirage's engine revs to resonate with the unmistakable roar of a Porsche.

North America, emphasised the significance of replicating the distinctive aircooled flat-six sound, stating, "It was important to us to represent the sound of the 911 model depicted in the film."
Each of the picture cars serves a specific purpose on set. From modified vehicles capable of high-speed reverse driving to cars prepared for daring stunts, the fleet of replicas brings Mirage's thrilling escapades to life. For scenes focusing on the artist inside the car, another replica is expertly maneuvered externally, providing seamless shots that highlight the heroic spirit of the Porsche hero car.
The collaboration between Porsche and the Transformers franchise has been nothing short of extraordinary. Irene Trachtenberg, Senior Vice President of Worldwide Marketing Partnerships at Paramount, expressed her excitement, stating, "We are thrilled to be working with the Porsche team on this unprecedented and integrated partnership that brought our Autobot 'Mirage' to life in a most unique, iconic, and unforgettable way, showcasing the personality of both bot and car form's adventurous and heroic spirit."

Porsche Mission X
The Mission X concept study showcases Porsche's dedication to pushing the boundaries of automotive engineering, providing an electrifying glimpse into the future of hypercars. By blending iconic heritage with cutting-edge innovation, the Mission X paves the way for the next generation of sports cars, upholding the legacy of Porsche as a brand that constantly evolves and dares to dream.
PPorsche's latest concept study, the Mission X, unveils a remarkable vision for the future of hypercars, blending innovation and tradition in a twoseater design. The concept debuted in June at the '75 Years of Porsche Sports Cars' exhibition in Stuttgart-Zuffenhausen.
The Mission X boasts a relatively compact hypercar design, measuring approximately 4.5 metres long and two metres wide, with a wheelbase reminiscent of the iconic Carrera GT and 918 Spyder. Its sleek bodywork, adorned in an elegant Rocket Metallic paint, showcases carbon-weave elements with a satin finish, achieving a perfect balance of luxury and performance.
Notable features include the Le Mans-style doors, inspired by the legendary Porsche 917 racing car, opening upwards and forwards, creating an arresting entrance. The headlights, reminiscent of historic racing cars such as the Porsche 906 and 908, feature a distinctive vertical base form, resembling an eye blinking open when illuminated.
The rear of the Mission X displays a full-length light unit that seemingly floats, with transparent and illuminated Porsche lettering that pulsates while charging, adding an air of mystique. The modernised Porsche crest, featuring brushed precious metal and a three-dimensional honeycomb structure, adorns the bonnet, steering wheel, and wheel centres.

One special detail is the modernised Porsche crest, which makes its debut on the Mission X. Brushed precious metal, a three-dimensional honeycomb structure, a refreshed heraldic beast and more subtle gold colour – on close inspection, these are the differences between the modernised Porsche crest and its immediate forerunner.
DESIGN 56 PORSCHEWILLOUGHBY.COM.AU
Inside, the Mission X underscores driver focus with an asymmetrical layout and a unique colour concept. The two seats, distinguished by their shades of Andalusia Brown, are complemented by a Kalahari Grey driver's seat, merging seamlessly with the centre console and dashboard. The passenger seat, in a contrasting Andalusia Brown, adds an artistic touch. Motorsport influences abound within the cabin, with the open-top steering wheel equipped with mode switches and shift paddles, and six-point seatbelts integrated into the monocoque. The passenger side features a bayonet system embedded in the instrument panel, designed to accommodate a specially crafted stopwatch module from Porsche Design, perfect for racetrack and rally use.
Michael Mauer, Head of Style Porsche, emphasises, "The Mission X is a clear commitment to the core of the brand. The continuing, enhanced expression of our brand and product identity is an important compass for us to navigate the development of our series-production models."
