Refund policy
Any refund/withdrawal request for recreation services or activities will be pro-rated and charged an administration fee of $5 for each individual activity withdrawal.
No charge for activity transfers.
Refund requests will be accepted up to the third class of a registered activity or up to 48 hours prior to a single-day registered activity.
Seven days notice is required to withdraw from camps.

A day of fun skating, biking and swimming! Experienced riders have fun rain or shine at the local Community Centre and nearby parks. Campers provide their own bike and helmet; skating equipment will be provided for them. Prerequisite: Must be able to ride long distances at a constant pace. Bikes must have inflated tires, working breaks and chain, and NO training wheels. Completion of Little Sprockets 2nd Gear or ability to ride independently and longer distances required to register.

Looking to remove your training wheels and pedal a two wheeler on your own? Parent participation required to offer hands on support to new riders during this one hour program inside the Port Coquitlam Community Centre arena. Focus is on having fun while maneuvering through interactive circuits and learning about bike and street safety. Requirements: Is this the right level for my child? If participants can start their bike from a stationary position and then ride forward independently without training wheels, participants do not need to attend First Gear prior to registering for Second Gear. Equipment: Participants supply their own bike with training wheels on, helmet, and water bottle. Equipment tip: Success happens with bikes that are the right size. Riders must be able to sit on the bike and have their toes touch the ground to successfully learn to ride independently. Age: 4–8

Offered by the Tri-City Fencing Academy. Our youth program begins with a four-session introductory class, quickly teaching the basic actions of the sport, allowing students to progress in their skills in a short time. Prerequisite: Fencing – Youth Beginners or Fencing – Children Beginners 2 Offered by the Tri-City Fencing Academy. Younger students will be learning in this L1 program until they reach the age of 11, older students 3–9 months, as they develop strong technical sport fencing basics. FENCING – L2/3 TRAINING PROGRAM
Prerequisite: L1 Training Program Offered by the Tri-City Fencing Academy. After graduation from an L1 program, fencers move into our L2 program. Students will be learning in the L2 program for 1–2 years as they move from basic skills to more advanced technical and tactical knowledge and more involvement in competitions. These programs are skills assessment based, using an advancement system from the Canadian Fencing Federation similar to other martial arts programs. Artist in Residence
The City of Port Coquitlam Artist-in-Residence program offers opportunities for artists to work in the community, develop arts-based engagement activities, and deliver creative projects that generate meaningful connections. Meet Port Coquitlam’s new Artist in Residence, Marn Norwich.
Marn Norwich is a writing workshop facilitator, writing coach, poet and playwright. Her poetry book, Wildflowers at my doorstep (Karma Press), won an Independent Publisher Book Award.
During her residency, Marn will launch the Muse Project, a series of writing workshops on the theme of Connection. These workshops will present an opportunity for Port Coquitlam residents to engage their creativity, connect deeply to their truest stories and contact their wild and unique wisdom by participating in the writing process. The workshops will culminate in a community reading. She’ll also provide one-on-one writing mentorship for community members.
Marn will facilitate an all-ages Earth-Walk + Write event as part of the City’s Centennial May Day celebration. In our May Day Art Zone, she’ll lead a springtime–vision writing workshop for children in the Magic Tent, a world where transformation is possible! Ideas and possibilities are the result of imagination. The mental work of the imagination is fundamental to creating, making, and learning. This act elevates thoughts from the mundane to the fantastic. The Imaginings V Exhibition highlights the breadth, depth and possibilities of ideas made by local students of Terry Fox and Riverside Secondary Schools . This year’s exhibition features some artworks inspired by the United Nations Global Goal #14: Conserve and sustainably use the oceans, seas and marine resources .

This Carol Hubbard Memorial Natural History Exhibit explores the Coquitlam River for which our city was named. Produced in partnership with Stream of Dreams, the Maple Creek Stream Keepers, Our Lady of the Assumption School, and Art Focus Artists’ Association, this exhibit features some of the history of our namesake watershed brought to life with art from the community.
