YOUTH SPORTS EVERYONE PLAYS, EVERYONE WINS! Sports are naturally fun for children and we invite your family to give them a great start at the Y. Your kids will learn the fundamentals of sports as well the Y’s four core values: Caring, Honesty, Respect and Responsibility, a winning combination in and out of the game. At the Y, we’re as interested in developing children’s character as we are in developing healthy athletes. We do not conduct tryouts to select the best players, nor do we cut kids from YMCA Youth Sports. Everyone is welcome here and everyone who registers is assigned to a team. During the season team members receive equal practice time and play at least half of every game.

SPRING SPORTS FLAG FOOTBALL* Ages: 6-12 Participants will learn the basics of offense and defense. They will learn and practice passing, running, catching and flag pulling. Your child will play many positions and learn the responsibilities of each. SOCCER Ages: 3-14 We offer a safe and productive environment for your child to learn the fundamentals of soccer as well as the importance of teamwork. Kids will experience the game by playing different positions. Our soccer leagues are instructional and may be coed teams. VOLLEYBALL* Grades: 3-6 YMCA Volleyball is an instructional league focusing on the core components of passing, serving, defense and court coverage. YOUTH SPORTS TEAM INFORMATION Registration: We recommend registering your player on our website at www. ppymca.org/program-registration when registration opens. The number of players on a team varies by sport and, in keeping with our “everybody plays” philosophy, teams may not be over-filled. Team rosters are placed in time slots for which practice space is available. Coaches commit to teams throughout the registration season. Registration fee must be paid in full to reserve a spot on a roster. Please be aware that a $10 fee will be applied in the case of a cancellation. Team Sign-ups: The YMCA of the Pikes Peak Region welcomes teams to sign up collectively. We encourage parents or coaches that have a pre-determined team to call or email the Sports Director at your local Y. Combining Leagues: One or more leagues may be combined with another YMCA center if we do not receive enough registrations to create at least four teams.

Late Registration: While registration deadlines are established to give the YMCA sports department the necessary time to develop game schedules and coach meetings, we do accept late registrations. If you have missed the registration deadline, please call your local Y to determine whether space still exists on teams. Refunds: Refunds are only available if a written cancellation is received prior to the first game of the season and is subject to a $10 service fee. Team Info: Team jerseys are $8 each and required for play. Each child will receive an award at the end of the season. Volunteer Coaches Welcome, Training Provided: The YMCA relies upon volunteer coaches to give young athletes a positive experience in the sport of their choice. We provide training to interested adults who have the desire to teach the Y’s 7 Pillars of Youth Sports and Core Values. Join our team by downloading a Volunteer Coach Application from www. ppymca.org and submit your completed application to any local Y.

WE ALL NEED THE Y The YMCA of the Pikes Peak Region is a gathering place that strengthens our community. Kids pour in after school to do homework and learn from caring mentors.
