WELCOME Our latest addition is The Terrace, located on the front balcony of the building, overlooking the City. The Terrace has three distinct areas for eating and drinking, which are connected to the Villa Italian, LiVe and Review, but it can also be opened up into one larger space. It even has a retractable roof making it a great destination whatever the weather!

Welcome to our Spring/Summer programme of events. As usual we have plenty to keep you entertained and promise something to suit every taste. As well as a great line-up, including the return of World Snooker and welcoming West End shows such as Footloose, the building itself is changing too. Over the last few years we have been investing heavily in the complex; the face of the building and what we have to offer is always evolving. Since initially adding the restaurant Mundo Tapas, coffee shop Leaf or Bean and the cocktail and wine bar Review, our brand new restaurant, The Villa Italian, opened its doors last June. Now LiVe, previously the Guild Hall foyer space, has undergone a major revamp to create a brand new multifunctional space, perfect for intimate gigs. LiVe is already proving popular and attracting acts from around the world including The Sugarhill Gang and Wheatus from the U.S.A. See LiVe’s full listings on pages 30 and 31of this guide.

The developments don’t end there though, with more exciting plans in progress. LeVel, a leisure facility on the lower floor is set to open over the next 12 months offering a 10-pin bowling alley, a nine-hole crazy golf course, karaoke booths, sports bar and Tex Mex diner. For more information on the latest developments or to book a show, contact our wonderful Box Office team on 01772 80 44 44 or head to our brand new website www.prestonguildhall.com We look forward to seeing you soon, Richard and the team

Trainspotting Live

Grand Hall Monday 17 July to Friday 21 July 7pm plus 8:45pm shows on Thursday and Friday By Irvine Welsh, Adapted by Harry Gibson, Directed by Adam Spreadbury-Maher with Greg Esplin, Lighting by Clancy Flynn, Sound by Tom Lishman. This punchy production recaptures the passion and controversy of the famous novel and globally successful film, and repackages it into an immersive production – the audience are literally part of the show, including the notorious “Worst Toilet in Scotland” scene. Trainspotting is the story of Mark Renton and his friends, living through the Edinburgh heroin scene of the 80s. Harry Gibson’s original stage adaptation was instantly successful and controversial and won the Sunday Times Award for Best New Play.
