TARTANPARTNERSHIPS

B E S P O K E

E V E N T

Tartan Partnerships is a unique service striving to deliver a high quality service to all, regardless of race, religion or sexuality. Whilst our specialty is organising civil partnerships, weddings and commitments, we offer a similar bespoke approach to all events, including birthdays, dinner parties, funerals, and naming ceremonies. We operate with a clear purpose – to support our clients in preparing for their special event, and to ensure that the event runs smoothly and without difficulty. Our experience in organising our own civil partnership was that a surprising number of businesses still don’t offer comparable services to `traditional’ weddings, which makes approaching venues awkward, isolating and difficult. We firmly believe that this

M A N A G E M E N T should not happen, and work only with businesses who understand our philosophy and our clients needs. We strive to use Scottish produce and services whenever able, and are keen to promote our beautiful country beyond the UK. The `partnership’ extends beyond the events we organise; we are dedicated to only working alongside other businesses or organisations who share our goals. In turn, we form a unique network of businesses and services, that come together to make sure your event is the unique, personalised and memorable event you seek. Whether you are arranging an event for five or five hundred, with a budget of a few hundred or a few thousand, we are happy to meet with you for a noobligation discussion to see how we can help.

Pride Glasgow is a proud believer in use of Pride as a political statement for equality and diversity. This year we are following in the footsteps of Pride festivals in Vancouver, New York and Tel Aviv, by working with the Equality Network to highlight issues around transphobia and transgender discrimination. We recognise that in Scotland trans people remain unequal in the law and that much still needs to be done to achieve equality. We would like to encourage people, as well as using the parade to highlight the issues that are important to them, to also join us in our call for transgender equality.

PRIDE ANNUAL REPORT Since our last annual report the festival has undergone a number of changes and we have been in an 18 month accounting period so this is the first report back to the community in just under 2 years. We introduced ticketing for the event in 2014 to ensure the financial sustainability of the festival and this helps reduce one of the major risks to the organisation. Ticket sales do not cover all the festival expenditure however and we still require sponsorship, stalls, grant funding and donations to make up the rest. In 2014 we also created the Pride Fund, a community grant scheme designed at supporting the LGBT+ community at a grassroots level. This will open again for applications in October 2015. Both 2013 and 2014 (despite the weather) were successful events and we have used the feedback from both events to make changes to this year’s event and we hope you enjoy it!

The charts on the opposite page breakdown the costs of the organisation and of Pride 2013 and Pride 2014. A full version of our annual accounts and trustee report can be found on the Pride Glasgow website at www.pride.scot
