Western Australian-based Boretech Contracting started as an installer of underground services for Telstra and the National Broadband Network but has since expanded and secured longterm horizontal directional drilling contracts for a vast range of utility projects. The company uses top-of-the-line machinery from Vermeer Equipment of WA & NT to continually deliver excellent project results.

oretech Contracting is owned by Patrick Dunne and Stephen Roberts, who, with a vast amount of experience in civils and project management, have built the company’s strong reputation based on its quality installations and OH&S standards. Mr Roberts runs 46 TRENCHLESS AUSTRALASIA SEPTEMBER 2021

the business development and project management side of the company, while Mr Dunne is a more hands partner, running the crews in the field and assuring high standards of safety and success. This business model is continuing to deliver positive results and is the key to Boretech’s growth as a business, resulting in staff attraction and retention and the running of new high-quality equipment supplied by Vermeer Equipment of WA & NT. Boretech has secured long term project contracts for the southern metro area upgrades of PVC to HDPE natural gas network, along with the recent awarding of its electrical contractors’ licence for targeting electrical utility upgrades. Adding to its capability portfolio, Boretech has ongoing upgrade projects for the Perth cast iron water main replacement program. Partnering with Vermeer Equipment of WA & NT, Boretech has grown and refreshed its horizontal direcctional drilling (HDD) equipment, and its partnership with Vermeer’s finance provider DLL Group has been a major support to grow the business over the last few
