Instrument Project 2019 In-Class, Group Project Course - Princeton ArcPrep Faculty - Katie Zaeh In the instrumental project, my group and I chose the bugle. We sketched out the section and the elevation of the bugle. By drafting the bugle, we learned a lot about how it makes sound. The curves in the bugle have a lot to do with how the sound comes out and how loud it comes out. We measured together, but each created our own final drawings. Instrument Project, 2019, 24x26

4 NA NA Collage, 2019 Paper
NA NA 2019 In-Class, Individual Project Course - Princeton ArcPrep Faculty - Katie Zaeh This project I selected a piece of a song and, hearing the pitch, the beat, and the volume and created a collage to map it. From that information, I created my model drawing and from the drawling I created my model. My model is the same scale as my drawing, but I only modeled a square 12” x 12” of the collage. Listening booth 2019 In-Class, Individual Project Course - Princeton ArcPrep Faculty - Katie Zaeh To create the drawing of my listening booth, I chose a part of my soundscape model. I decided to make my exterior out of glass. My plan has a few chairs, some food stands, and a private area for listening to music. In the private area is also a place where you can be having fun: playing pool, video games, or whatever YOU WANT while listening to your music.

Invisible cities 2019 In-Class, Individual Project Course - Princeton ArcPrep Faculty - Katie Zaeh I made my after-life city exactly the same as the living city, I just changed up a few things. For example, there is no sun, just light in the dead city. Life is so much more fun than in the real city. There are no worries after death; just happiness and parties. I decided to make a way to get to the Invisible City by putting an elevator in a Wells Fargo safe. I made everything from paper, but drew on the shadows

No Pain No Gain 2019 In Class, Individual Project This hard hat had to represent me, and I decided to show what I do on a everyday basis. I used wood, paint and markers. I framed out a wall with the wood. I painted out a wall with the paint, and with the markers, I wrote “No pain No Gain.” Also, I added dollar signs on the back of the helmet. These are things I do when I work in construction, so it was a great way to represent something about myself. The hard hat is used to do the work that is shown on the hard hat.

Concrete Puzzle 2019 In-Class, Group Project Course - Princeton ArcPrep Faculty - Katie Zaeh To create the concrete puzzle, first my group and I created a puzzle out of blocks that snapped together. Then, we built formwork for the pieces that we designed with PVC foam board. We left a hole in which we could pour the cement, and made sure there were no gaps. We had 3 different shapes. We let it cure for a day, then we broke off the plastic and connected the pieces. It came out as a great puzzle. The pieces fit together perfectly.
