President’s Letter As I write this month’s newsletter, we are seeing the hottest temperatures of the year and are expecting to see triple digits by the end of the week. With these extreme temperatures, Guy and his staff will be taking special care of our course, including additional hand watering of the greens and creating slower green speeds. This is done to help ease the stress the greens are under from the heat. We hope this weather will be short lived and that we will see cooler temperatures soon. August is always an exciting month at TCC, as it is our Championship month. The men’s and ladies Club Champions will be honored at our annual “Champions Party” following the conclusion of the men’s Championship on August 14th starting around 3 p.m. or so. If you have never attended this event, you will not want to miss it. Other activities happening at TCC starting on the 5th will be our Tennis Mixer Member/Guest starting at 5 p.m., a one day Junior Golf School on the 9th and a new event being held on the 13th, a Women & Wine Deck Party. Other exciting events include the Dog Days of Summer Pool Party on the 20th, Guys and Gals on the 21st and Nine & Dine on the 26th. As you can see, there are many great activities taking place this month and this does not even include the Club’s weekly golfing groups. Please, as always, attend as many as these events as possible, as your support is what keeps TCC a step ahead of the rest. In the middle of the Club’s busy season, please do not forget to introduce someone new to TCC. This is a wonderful time to showcase all of our great happenings here at the Club. We continue to have many membership incentives in place that benefit the existing member as well as the prospective member. The Membership Committee has done a great job this year. Thank you. The budget will soon be completed for the fiscal year ending September 30, 2012. Once it is finalized, Treasurer Jerry Wilcoxon will update the membership with our current financial position and give you an overview of the upcoming budget year. I know the membership joins me in wishing our Superintendent, Guy Ostrander, a speedy recovery from his back surgery scheduled for August 2, 2011. As in most of my letters, I personally want to thank the staff at TCC. They do an outstanding job in making each member’s experience at TCC the best possible. If there is something you would like to see at TCC, please put a suggestion in the Club’s suggestion box. Butch Townsend President
