The member survey conducted by our House Committee is complete. Over three hundred responses were received, assuring specific answers to the questions. Many additional comments were submitted, providing both positive feedback and suggestions for improvement. I have highlighted a few of the trends below: • Members are proud of our club and want to see it continue as the premier family country club in central Indiana. • The club is making a successful effort in attracting new members, which current members would like to see continue. Bill Smith • The majority of members think the service is excellent. The long Club President term staff provide superior service and members want to assure that quality staff members are retained. • Members like the social events and would enjoy more events in the future. • Members like the food in most dining areas and praise Chef Joe. • The racket and paddle programs are an asset to the club. • The golf program is well used and most members are proud of our golf program. • The children’s program is well received and most members give it praise. • Bogey’s Bar is highly regarded as a favorite spot in the club. Members enjoy the food, ambiance, and staff. • Members value the current parking security and agree that level of security should continue. • Members feel our club is a wonderful place for families. The board, club committees, and club staff are reviewing the detailed survey results. Ongoing plans will be developed and implemented to improve the club’s programs and facilities. If you think of more suggestions, please pass your comments to either the staff or the board. Additionally, renovation work in the clubhouse will continue this month with the closing of the ladies’ restroom near Bogey’s Bar from July 18th to August 6th. This may cause some inconvenience; however, the restroom is long overdue for a complete remodeling. On a positive note, a TV has been installed on the lower patio with bar service available. It is a relaxing place to enjoy a drink and watch your favorite show.
Kelly Letzler Catering & Events Coordinator
Finally, with our various summer activities at the club, this is a terrific time to bring guests and introduce them to the many outstanding features of our country club. Hopefully, they will enjoy the club as much as we do and decide to join.

Message from theGeneral Manager
Membership Consideration for lower dues for senior members, recruit members 30-40, keep dues as low as possible. Clubhouse & Grounds Better cater to physical needs of older members, clubhouse dÊcor to be enhanced, concern about the Men’s Grill-a passionate topic on both sides of the aisle, the main entrance needs a positive and welcome first impression, sufficient parking is an issue, keep attention to cleaning detail throughout day, addition of bocce ball or pickle ball, ice skating rink in winter. Staff Responsive communication, members want to be heard, newer staff members look to long term staff for guidance, continue training on proper service and etiquette, work on employee retention so members and employees know each other, members feel like they have been hurried out late at night. Fitness Members want updated fitness center with addition of group exercise and strength training. Golf Members want more opportunities to play in a mixed group, hard for newer members to integrate themselves into current groups, concerns about new design of course, other membership types would like more opportunities to try the golf course. Swimming Pool Many members want to see renovations to the pool areas with more amenities like a grill or fire pit, an updated food menu, restrooms and locker room cleaned throughout the day, lap swimmers request lanes be enforced better Racquet & Paddle Better communication and timely response, indoor tennis in winter, allow social members to participate in group lessons. Dining Extend dining and bar hours on weekends, indicate closing time in a respectful manner, expand Bogeys Bar, want golf course view, add wheels to chairs, some do not like Bogeys Bar reservations, reduce bar pricing, i.e. club pour, daily specials, healthier food options, service slow at times, try more ethnic foods, family dining can be chaotic. Special Events/Banquets Some feel price is high, crucial to keeping club business and dues low, facilities need to be updated, have regular schedule of free appetizers and live music. Kids Club Consider addition of pre-teen area, kids camp in summer, provide meal options, child care offered free or nominal fee. Families/Teens/Preteens Additional group events not centered around holidays, offer etiquette classes, parent/child tennis, swimming and golf events, pool parties at night, separate teen center with foosball, basketball, shuffle board, bocce ball, ping pong. Adult Only Events Members want to mingle, provide free events for social networking, more special interest groups, couples golf & tennis, more beer/wine/liquor tastings, cooking classes, live music, cultural lectures, movie night. The management and committee representatives will review their respective areas and make recommendations to propose to the Board for their action as appropriate and in line with the financial plan. The comments made by each member will also be shared and discussed. Thank you for everyone who took the time to give us this important feedback. It is our desire to make your club better and fit the needs and expectations you as a member want to see! See you at the club,

Membership Update
Membership Chairman Update
Our club has select membership classifications that are made available to all types of people. One of the most overlooked membership categories is the Junior Golf Membership. To qualify for Jr. Golf you must be between the ages of 21 -34, pay $5,000 when you join, earn credits toward your balance up to $17,000 along with a payment plan that charges 0% interest! All of these possible savings and payment options are dependent upon the age you join. If someone you know qualifies for this outstanding membership program, please contact Jessica Bex for further details. Tom Foster
Membership Committee Chairman
Be sure to check the calendar of events online at www.meridianhillscc.org for all of the great activities at the club. Come out and enjoy what Meridian Hills has to offer! Sincerely, Tom Foster
Junior Golf Membership Did you know? • Age 21-34 • Only $5,000 * when they join! • 8-21 year payment plan** • 0% Interest They earn $5,000 - $17,000 credit; depends on age when they join. *At age 40, they pay balance of initiation fee over four years with NO interest fee. **Final installment is due on their 43rd birthday.
Swim Team Update
Our swim team season has started out with a splash! At our first meet, our six and under swimmers put up a great competition against Highland and we were tied at the half. Unfortunately, due to rain, our meet ended abruptly before we could finish out butterfly events and the rest of the meet, however, we look forward to facing Highland again at Interclub Meet! At our second meet, our six and unders and our older kid relays put up a resilient match against Hawthorns. Again, we had to end the meet early due to thunderstorms but we get to count that meet as a win! Great job team! We will face Hillcrest on Wednesday, June 25th, Woodland the week of June 30th, Woodstock at home on July 9th, and rounding out our season with Interclub at IUPUI on July 16th! Because we are only allowed two swimmers per event we will have a fun meet before that meet. Coach Lauren will be sending out more details via email as the time approaches. Keep up the great work, Marlins! 5 July 2014
