Summer weather has finally arrived and with the warm weather comes increased golf, tennis, swimming, and dining activity. We also have a large number of special events in the summer. While this busy season is enjoyable for all, finding a place to park can occasionally be challenging. To help ease the parking congestion, a few changes have already been completed to provide additional spaces. A new parking area is available near the golf maintenance facility and will be used by employees, freeing up additional parking spaces for the members in the main lot. During busy club events, shuttle service will be available to transport members from remote parking spaces in the club’s east Bill Smith lot, and, as needed, the shuttle service will be extended to an offsite Club President parking area. Note: If you arrive at the club and find at first glance that the parking lot appears to be full, please be patient and look for an open parking space deeper in the lot. Please do not park along the entry drive. While this might provide a quick solution, it creates safety issues. More parking will be available when the golf maintenance facility is replaced, but, until then, patience and cooperation will help all members. Finally, take a minute during June to see if you can identify all the renovations, upgrades, and improvements to the club’s facilities completed so far this year. Some of the projects are obvious, but some that improve the club operation and infrastructure are more difficult to notice. While much has been accomplished, additional facility improvements are planned for this summer. See if you can find all of them by summer’s end. Sincerely, Bill Smith MERIDIAN HILLS COUNTRY CLUB SURVEY Thank you to these members who were the first 100 to respond!

Message from theGeneral Manager The golf course is seeing more rounds of play and it is looking to be a very busy golf season. Please always check-in with the pro shop before play and be mindful of your pace of play. Four hours and 20 minutes is the accepted pace. When there is a group behind you, please be aware of your position on the golf course and pace of play. Beginning Monday, June 2nd, the golf course will be open for play at 2:00pm. Carts will be available, locker rooms accessible and the Halfway house will be open until 7:00pm. This will continue throughout the summer until the end of August. With the pool now open a few things would be helpful to Steve Roper, CCM, CCE remember; an individual accompanied by a member, may be a guest General Manager 6 times per season; members are limited to 6 guests on any one day; sign in when entering and kindly return towels upon leaving. Please ask your children to take potty breaks and all children in swim diapers must wear plastic swim pants – accidents are an inconvenience to everyone and require the pool to close for clean-up and chemical treatment. Children 9 or under must be accompanied by a parent or other responsible sitter, 12 years of age or older. Thank you for making the pool a fun, safe place for all of our families. Kids Club has expanded hours through the summer Monday - Friday: 8am - 12pm Tuesday - Saturday: 5pm - 9pm Tues/Weds/Thurs: 12pm - 4pm (Parents Afternoon Out) Sunday: Closed Jessica Contis and her staff do an excellent job teaching the children crafts, monitoring their play and socializing skills, providing meals and snacks and or just watching an age appropriate movie. Please be mindful of the time you pick up and safety of getting your child home. We encourage reservations in the dining rooms in the evening. With the Hearth Room Terrace and Bogeys Patio now open additional seating is available. Reservations allow us to monitor the number of diners within 30 minute segments of the dinner serving hours. Walk ins are welcome but order taking will be made as the kitchen has the capacity to handle. The staff is committed to everyone having a pleasurable dining experience.
OUR NEWEST ADDITION Our biggest congratulations to Rick & Cara Barretto who welcomed Hope Elizabeth Rayne Barretto into the world on March 24th, 2014. She weighed 7 lb 1 oz and was 19 1/2 inches long. Hope joins big brothers Grant (13) & Pierce (11). 3 June 2014
