On January 24th your Board of Directors, Past President’s Council, Committee Chairpersons and members of the management team completed a planning retreat that crafted a vision for the club, strategic priorities for this year and action items we are working to complete within the next six months. One of the strategic priorities for 2015 is to strengthen our marketing & communication efforts. To support this priority, we will be upgrading the software we use to run the club to the Jonas Software System in April. Jonas is a leader Jim Dodson in providing integrated software solutions for Country Clubs, and Club President has over 25,000 customers across 20 countries. We evaluated several software providers and asked two for proposals. The two finalists made presentations to the management team, and after careful analysis, we selected Jonas based on their proven track record, cost, and features improving member experience. The three features that I am excited to use are: a) Golf tee times will be available online. We will continue to have a lottery for weekend and holiday tee times and the software system automates much of the work our golf staff does in preparing tee sheets. We will continue to take reservations by phone or in person; however, I believe many members will find using this online feature, available from the browser on your phone, will be easiest way to schedule a round of golf. b) Dining room reservations will be available online. We will continue to take reservations by phone or in person, though much like tee times, I believe many members will find using this online feature to be the easiest way to schedule a dining room reservation. This feature will be implemented in early summer. c) Paying your monthly bill can be done via online bank transactions. This feature will allow funds to be drawn from your checking account to pay your bill without having to write a check. This feature will also be available in early summer. To support the conversion and training for the Jonas system, we will not have dining service on Tuesday, April 7th (first Tuesday after Easter). The halfway house will be open, but a la carte service will not be available in Bogey’s, Bogey’s Bar, the Hearth Room, Men’s Grill or family dining room. I am impressed with the plan and work done so far to implement the system. This is a large complex project, and I know a change of this magnitude often creates unforeseen disruptions. With this in mind, I ask in advance for your tolerance as we work to improve the club. Sincerely, Jim Dodson

This summer our pool will be managed by Ashley Gilchrist. Ashley has spent four summers at the pool, three as a lifeguard and her last as pool manager and swim team coach. Ashley graduated from IU and is currently a grammar school teacher in Nora. Welcome back Ashley! Also, coming to Meridian Hills is Ed Ahlbrand. Ed will be the swim team head coach. Ed was formerly at the Riviera Club for twenty plus years and comes to us with the excitement and enthusiasm of building a competitive swim team, offering children’s programs, water aerobics and other activities that gave him such recognition and popularity from our own members who have participated at Rivi. Welcome Ed to MHCC, we highly anticipate the energy you will bring to us and the club’s children! Golf News Want to go to the 2015 Masters
In a little over a month the 2015 Masters will be held on April 9-12, in Augusta , Ga. For many years tickets were seldom available to purchase. In recent years ticket brokers have been able to secure tickets that are available to now purchase. The Masters is still one of the most popular sporting events of any of the sports. If you have never been, I would strongly recommend you plan a trip to this year's tourney. Tickets are available for practice rounds or any of the tournament days. Your own trip can be customized to fit the needs of your group. I have the privilege to assist several families in the past and they all had a great experience. The two brokers that I have used, who I trust and have had good track records with are: Brent Fisher, ETA tickets, bfisher@etatickets.com and his phone numbers are cell, 317-509-0252 and work, 317-251-5500, and Jimmy Wolfe, JT Tickets, jttickets@comcast.net and cell, 317-531-6996. If a trip to the Masters is something that you would enjoy doing, I would suggest you call these men as soon as possible. Always, Jack
