Meridian Hills Country Club Annual Meeting The Club’s Annual Meeting will be held on Tuesday, November 15th, 2011 beginning at 6:00 p.m.

Following the meeting please join us for complimentary cocktails and hors d’oeuvres.

Dinner reservations will be available in all our dining facilities as well.

Call Member Services at 255-2496 to make reservations for both the Annual Meeting and dinner that evening.

President’s Message Board of Directors

On October 25, Ray Kachel joined us as our interim General Manager. He brings considerable experience to the position (last post was at the Figure 8 Yacht Club in North Carolina) and real operational expertise. It is anticipated that he will serve as interim General Manager for some 90 to 120 days at which point a full-time General Manager will assume the responsibilities. All of which is to say that a search committee (Erica Mobasser, Jeff Cristee, Chris Seger, Janet Estes and Mark Ford) will be working with our consultants, Club Specialists, Inc. (CSI), to screen and interview Mark W. Ford for our new General Manager. The qualified field Club President of candidates is a substantial one. Selecting the "best" for MHCC will be something of a challenge given the high expectations of our members. Rest assured we will do our "best" to hit the mark.

Next up is the Annual Meeting on November 15. Please attend—vote for the Board candidates (Todd Hillman, Jim Litten & William Smith III, as well as the Membership Committee candidates; Tom Foster, Steve McGovern & Kevin Stitle)—hear the Annual Report—a preview of 2011-12—and, yes, ask questions.

Just as we reached back to existing members and provided an opportunity to convert their membership, we are looking at an initiative to reach back to former Class "A" (golfing) members and provide them with an opportunity to restore their membership. To be eligible, a former "A" member must have previously paid their initiation fee in full or are prepared to pay the balance of that initiation fee upon rejoining. A former member is required to reapply through the membership committee (same process as a new member) and, if approved, is obligated to pay $5,000 for every full year since their membership lapsed up to a maximum of $20,000.

This program will remain open until year end (12/31/11).

As has been the case for several years, the Club will be closed for for three weeks in January for our annual Club maintenance projects. The Club will close beginning Monday, January 2nd and will reopen on Tuesday, January 24th. All facilities will be closed except for the Fitness Center and Paddle Tennis courts. Dining reciprocity has been offered to our members at the Columbia Club, Woodland Country Club and Woodstock Club. Please call each Club for hours of operation and for reservations.
